i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost the password. I love any help you can offer me!
@Terry Dominic i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and im waiting for the hacking stuff now. I see it takes a while so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
I have a confession to make. I love these long camera tutorials, even though I never have the camera you're presenting, because they help me to sleep. I put it on at bed time, and always fall asleep very quickly. If I wake up in the night, I press replay and I sleep another full cycle. And so on through the night. So thanks for helping me sleep well, Tony! ☺👍
I've taken about 10,000 photos on my X-T20 in many types of conditions using various lenses and settings, before watching your video and still got a lot of information and tips from you. Many thanks for making such informative videos for your fans!
My 20 arrived this evening. Started browsing the manual & realized how different it is to my xt100. Overwhelmed to say the least but Tony to the rescue! Best hour & a half I've had in some time.
A special shoutout to you @Tony & Chelsea Northrup for making these awesome tutorial videos!! As an advanced amateur (if that exists) I really enjoy learning more in depth knowledge about the quirks and secrets of photography that other channels or websites simply don't have the patience to explain it all with such depth and logic. I love your tutorials so much, I ended up buying your book. You deserve all the support you can get from your subscribers for all the hard work and time you put into making these amazing and lengthy videos, sharing with us all your secrets basically for free. Keep it up !!
Great demo, thank you very much. I'm an experienced shooter but I've just got this camera and it's really nice to see where everything is in a video instead of having to dig through the entire written user manual (however, it's not that bad after all). I also have a small tip to ease the removal of the SD card from the camera as I saw how you were struggling as well as I did. Just add a small piece of tape to the end of the SD card and wrap it over so that it protrudes a few millimeters into the battery department. This way you can just grab the tape to pull the card out instead of poking and wiggling around with the finger tips in this tight space. I've used this trick on my smaller Sony cameras for years and it just works great (especially when using L-brackets or something like that).
Thanks Tony. Your knowledge, wisdom and skill as a teacher is without any doubt the best I have experienced on UA-cam. Your humility, impartial tone and generosity should be a lesson for everyone. Thanks again.
This was a truly extraordinary video. I just bought this camera, and the first thing I did was watch this video. Tony is a great teacher and generous to post this on UA-cam free of charge. I want to find somehing to buy in Tony’s store to provide at least some form of compensation.
I have just purchased a new X T20. This tutorial is so very helpful in helping me to understand the workings and settings of this great little camera. Thank you for taking the time and effort to make this essential vid.
Just wanted to add to the pile of thank you messages. This video is a life saver and has me grinning ear from ear as I feel myself slowly absorb the info and become more confident with the different modes. THANK YOU
Tony, I've gone back (model iteration-wise) to this XT20 in order to get small size AND the D-Pad (love those direct control options!). This tutorial is super helpful. Thanks, Craig
Finally I gave in and recently i purchased for the first time a serious camera. Before it arrived I watched this tutorial a few times. When my camera arrived I immediately felt familiar with it and didn’t freak out once, thanks to this great tutorial! Millions of things to learn but this tutorial gave me a head start on learning to know my camera. With your amazing book SDP i am now making my first steps into the world of photography and having lots of fun Thanks Tony
Thank you Tony for the tutorial. This is my first professional camera and was confused on the options that xt20 has, but this video really help me to understand my camera better. I don't mind the long tutorial because I can always jump up to different categories that I want to learn. Thanks again Tony!
great tutorial Tony. I watched it with camera in hand and I've been vlogging with the camera for two weeks now. You made the learning curve a lot easier.
Love this video! Explain basic for newbies and refresh the knowledge for those who need it. Really well done :) Just bought Xt20, so excited to start shooting with it!
Super useful, Tony. I've read too many manuals, and this gave me a very pleasant, comprehensive, and clear way to understand that guts of the camera. (I have an X-E2, but all of the menu functions you discuss are identical in that camera.)
This is the tutorial I needed. In a world of Canon and Nikon shooters, this is for every beginner determined to shoot Fuji. Thank you, thank you, thank you- just bought the book because of this helpful video!!
Thanks so much for the top-notch tutorial. I just got a X-T20 and it has been awhile since I had a camera lesson. This really helped me to hit the ground running with all of the key features.
Really great tutorial. I got my X-T20 yesterday and was bamboozled with the control system after moving over from Canon. This tutorial really helped me understand the controls on the Fuji so I can head out and shoot. Thank you!!
Thank you for the tutorial, I bought several other cameras since I got my X-T20 and haven't used it for awhile and your video is a great refresher on to use. Tks
Hi Tony and Chelsea! You guys are great for making tutorials. I hope you gonna have a tutorial for Fujifilm X100F. I'm sure a lot of people are waiting for it! Thank you!
I'm a little late to the fuji X-T20 game, but thank you so much Tony for making this video. This made the switch from a Canon DSLR to a fuji mirrorless setup so much easier. I'm currently reading STP, and I just want to let you know how fantastic it is to have two very talented and approachable teachers in both you and Chelsea.
Tony, you can change the settings of the buttons by pressing and holding it, save you some few clicks. Also pressing the back button also gives you the focus area selection. thanks for this awesome tutorial.
I ran to get the ebook! I am a total beginner and this was not only a helpful overview of the camera, but had a lot of photography tips I really appreciated.
I just purchased the new Fuji X-T100 which I am happy to say can store location data (August 2018) and was overwhelmed with the buttons, dials, etc. Came upon this video even though the Northrup's video is made for the X-T20 (the similarity of the two cameras quickly became apparent). That being said I went from despair to joy watching the first 20 minutes, kinda like I just found the Rosetta Stone. Bravo!
Significantly reduced the learning curve for a my new x-t20. Also triggered a compulsion to take my new camera out of auto mode. I highly recommend having a back up battery per Tony's recommendation. Great video.
I just got this because I needed a 35mm (I got a 23mm f2) for smaller stuff that doesn't require my dslr's and so this was good. I appreciate you doing this.
I always love your video, Tony. Been following all of your Fuji tutorials since I bought X-T10. Now its time to upgrade to X-T20 and here we are, another helpful tutorial! I'm also a big fan of your SDP book, bought it couple months ago and it really improve my photography knowledge (and technique). Few more pages left to finish! XD
Just got this camera used and really appreciate this awesome tutorial! I have absolutely no experience in fotography - just want it for the video feature but tomorrow I'll try everything I learned here in the streets. :)
Hi. Thanks for the tutorial. Just got this little guy and I'm excited to use it. I did want to report back one issue I ran into, and that's giving the photos a star rating. When you give the photo a 5 star rating from the camera, Lightroom does NOT see that star rating. Fuji (for some unknown reason to me) decided to store that rating in a MakerNotes field in the EXIF data and NOT in the industry-standard EXIF Rating field. That means if you want to import those star ratings, you will need to use a plugin like X-LR plugin. Thought I would give you a heads up. Cheers.
Great review and tutorial Tony, I just ordered the XT20 last night, I simply could not resist the military appreciation sale price which ends November 1.
thank you Tony , this session has been very informative, detailed and very clear. I learned a lot from this video, Much easier than fumbling through the manual pages.
Thanks for the video, Tony. I watched it instead of reading the user manual, and it was enough for me to feel extremely comfortable with the camera, despite I didn't use fujis before.
Awesome video! Just got my XT20 and this instructional video is very helpful. I will surely refer to it throughout the learning process. Thank you Tony for creating this !
The Fuji film simulations or "filters" as you call them are a major feature of the X system, for many users . Shoot RAW +jpeg and then experiment changing them in camera afterwards Far superior than doing it out of camera with other apps. Acros and classic chrome are especially good.
Phil Levy I completely agree the Fuji simulations also help you see how the image look in different simulation. something I urge all x-series users to give them a try
Phil Levy one of the major features why I intend to buy a Fuji. Image quality is good with any manufacturer, but what I like is the film simulation and "old school" shutter and aperture dials. For me it's not just about the image, but the experience taking it. I photograph mainly for myself, and I like having fun doing it
Thank for this video Tony. A through look at the ergonomics of this camera without getting too trivial. I'll be sure to check out some of your other videos.
This video is great! Seriously, if other Germans ask me for good tutorials, I recommend learning English and watching this video instead of watching a German video. Thanks a lot!
Tips, okay, here's few - shortcut to setup your FN buttons, long press the DISP/BACK button, then scroll and set your different FN buttons. Shortcut for focus peaking and split focus, long press the rear command dial, each long press will cycle through each selection, NOTE: by default that rear command dial is set to focus assist, if you change the focus assist to another FN button, then long pressing that button will cycle your selections! I have a ton of other, but that would be a book, which, I did write a book for shooting video with the Fuji X Pro 2 "The Fujiflim X Pro 2 Video Setup Guide" lots of thing in it that apply to this camera as well! No, that's not a shameful plug!
I have an XT20 and don't miss the swivel screen at all. I use my excellent Pixel 2 XL if I ever want to vlog, not that I do much vlogging. I prefer to hold a smaller device for vlogs
at 56:50 Tony talks about face detection. I completely disagree with Tony. I suspect Tony spent more time with XT2 than XT20. The Face Detection on XT20 is miles ahead of XT2 and all the other previous Fuji cameras, because XT20 is the first Fuji camera that allows PDAF and FD at the same time. Face Detection on XT20 I find very fast and useful, again, miles faster and more precise than on XT2. Of course on XT20, Face Detection also works with CAF including Continuous High, which is the first for Fuji, again. I had a conversation with Rico Pfirstinger, Fuji photographer who tests Fuji cameras, who confirmed the difference for me. Rico noticed even in pre-production XT20 that feature (PDAF + FD) which was and still is unavailable at XT2 and previous Fuji cameras. Unfortunately, neither Tony nor 95% of reviewers talk about this important autofocus difference/advance in XT20 over XT2, probably, because Fuji itself did not advertise the feature, probably fearing to upset the current XT2 owners
Thanks Tony for another great video! after watching this and following the steps along the way i now have a much better understanding of my new camera and now I can run with it, superb tutorial! Love it!
thank you that was excellent, very clear, the explanations clear, very helpful.. for decades a Nikon shooter now X T-2 and the learning curve is interesting.... thanks for many helpful tips...
Thank you, for the tutorial! I fell in love with this "oldie"; altough there are nowadays better performing cameras out there but at the end of the day, it is the love and joy of photography...;-)
Hi watch his video for the X-T20 two and half years ago I watched again today and still very helpful. Too bad that my X-T20 is showing some connection error with the lenses.
It would have been nice to have more emphasis on lens choices for travelling light, particularly hiking. I see this as a great compact landscape camera for days hiking/cycling or camping weekends. 10-24mm vs 14mm vs 16mm.... tough choice.
Haven't watched the video yet (about to) but hopefully Tony highlights the major difference between XT20 and XT2 autofocus, as XT20, for the first time for Fuji, allows Face Detect with PDAF and CH. First time ever Fuji has combined Face Detection and PDAF with CAF and CH!!!!! That's why my XT20 CAF is amazing. XT2 lacks this feature (Face Detection choice reverts XT2 back to CDAF only) and thus XT2 does not allow Face Detect and CAF with CH. XT20's face detection in much faster than XT2, and it is obvious if you compare the two cameras; of course the reason being on that on XT20, Face Detection does not turn off PDAF points.

Tony & Chelsea Northrup would it be possible to use fuji x-t20 as my working camera and not just for fun/hobby photographing??
Tony & Chelsea Northrup version
i dont mean to be off topic but does any of you know of a method to get back into an instagram account?
I stupidly lost the password. I love any help you can offer me!

Yes, Tony's voice is very attractive. He should host a talk show, or something like that.
Simon Patterson 😂😂😂
Simon Patterson Sounds like you have ASMR
omg same!

This is the best overview of the camera I have ever seen. You do a very thorough job of covering all the major things someone would need. Thank you!

Thanks Tony. Your knowledge, wisdom and skill as a teacher is without any doubt the best I have experienced on UA-cam. Your humility, impartial tone and generosity should be a lesson for everyone. Thanks again.
Fujifilm should pay you for this. Incredibly useful. Thank you!
Just got my T20 yesterday and watched this video 3 times,
Thank you, Tonny
Glad to help!
Me too. 1. Bought camera. 2. Watched Tony!
Avishay Gold I bought it yesterday and it’s all the control are so different when to compared to my previous camera Nikon D5100

A faster way to connect to your mobile app is to press Play button then press Fn. it will open the xt20's wifi.
That's fine, but your advice assumes that the 'Fn' button is still set to its default, which is WiFi Connect . . .
I have my Fn button set to ISO but find if I pres Play and just tap Fn (not hold down) it does in deed go to WiFi!!!!!!!
Thank you Tony for the tutorial. This is my first professional camera and was confused on the options that xt20 has, but this video really help me to understand my camera better. great tutorial Tony. I watched it with camera in hand and I've been vlogging with the camera for two weeks now. You made the learning curve a lot easier.
Finally, Tony gave us a detailed instruction on X-T20. No wonder, Tony is around for 15 years or so.
Love this video! Explain basic for newbies and refresh the knowledge for those who need it. Really well done :) Just bought Xt20, so excited to start shooting with it!
That's probably the best tutorial on anything I have ever seen. Helped me a ton, thank you very much man!
I just bought a T20 and was SO frustrated! thank you for this. I will be buying your books just to support you (I am already on information overload)
Huge help. One of the best tutorials for any product/hobby I have seen.
I remember watching this with my X-T20 camera at hand a few years back. Still the best tutorial video for this camera.
Super useful, Tony. I've read too many manuals, and this gave me a very pleasant, comprehensive, and clear way to understand that guts of the camera. (I have an X-E2, but all of the menu functions you discuss are identical in that camera.)

Very grateful Tony, for a most comprehensive, helpful, step by step and I believe the only such guide to the XT20 online.
Fantastic Tutorial. Best video this channel has ever offered. Thank you. You saved me hours of experimentation and reading the less than clear manual.
Really great tutorial. I got my X-T20 yesterday and was bamboozled with the control system after moving over from Canon.
This tutorial really helped me understand the controls on the Fuji so I can head out and shoot.

54:00 A Quick Tip that I learned from Omar Gonzalez; press disp/back button to get the focusing point to the default(center) positon.
Thank you Tony! I bought the XT20 a few weeks ago and this video really helped me understand what the camera can actually do and how it does it.

Thanks so much. I have a Nikon D500 & Canon G7X Mk II. Adding a FujiFilm XT20 is like learning an all new language, so you're a huge help. Thanks!

wahooouu ! What a tutorial ! Thanks a lot. I can't Guess the amont of work behind this video. thanks again
I have a x-t100 but this guide helped me to understand a lot about my camera anyway. Very complete and helpful!
Thanks Tony. This is such a helpful and comprehensive overview of how to use the Fuji XT20 which can be very daunting for a new user.
Excellent tutorial, best I've seen on xt-20 or any other camera for that matter. Thanks for taking the time to do this.
I finally got an xt 20, 6 years later
Lots of good detail......Tony you are a very good relaxed presenter........very welcome. Bought the book as a result . many thanks
Possibly the best X-T20 tutorial ! Great job !
Thanks for the video, Tony. I watched it instead of reading the user manual, and it was enough for me to feel extremely comfortable with the camera, despite I didn't use fujis before.
You're welcome!
Just got my X-T20 on Saturday and watching the video for the first time, looking forward!
So much learnings. Good thing I watched your video. Saves time learning from the manual. :D
Awesome video! Just got my XT20 and this instructional video is very helpful. I will surely refer to it throughout the learning process. Thank you Tony for creating this !
I just got the x-t20 and this was invaluable for me. I would be lost without it.

this was hands down the most helpful video i have ever seen! THANK YOU SO MUCH. i am getting all of your books right now!
Thanks for this. Appreciated you putting it out for free and didn't mind your product plugs at all considering the detailed information provided.
Thank for this video Tony. A through look at the ergonomics of this camera without getting too trivial. I'll be sure to check out some of your other videos.
Thanks for a great video - I learned a lot from this that make shooting with this camera even more of a joy.
Wovv. I bought my x-t20 two days ago and I found your video tutorial now. Thank you for your great help...
This video is great! Seriously, if other Germans ask me for good tutorials, I recommend learning English and watching this video instead of watching a German video. Thanks a lot!
Learnt more here than any other webpage or UA-cam show. Thanks

Could you please tell me if this is something that can be added with firmware to XT-2? Thank you for your time.
Looks like it is coming to the X=T2 soon www.fujirumors.com/fujifilm-officially-announces-new-firmware-x-t2-x-pro2-33-improvements-full-list/
Thank you so much for letting me know! That is one of the reasons that Fuji is great!
It is being added to XT2 as feature number 7 on their list.
Thank you for this excellent tutorial. I was a little lost with this camera but now everything is clear.
I just purchased this camera and look forward to watching this again
Thank you for this really excellent video. It has really helped me understand many of the functions of my X-T20 Camera.
Waiting for this camera to get to my doorstep! Thanks for the awesome video! Well done and very professional.
Wow- thanks! This camera was overwhelming to me as a beginner, so your tutorial was SO helpful!
Tony this video is the best tutorial ive ever seen thanks mate
Thanks a lot for this tutorial..this helped me a lot to quickly become familiar with my new Fuji X T30
5 years later still relevant, thanks Tony
Thanks Tony for another great video! after watching this and following the steps along the way i now have a much better understanding of my new camera and now I can run with it, superb tutorial! Love it!
thank you that was excellent, very clear, the explanations clear, very helpful.. for decades a Nikon shooter now X T-2 and the learning curve is interesting.... thanks for many helpful tips...
Thanks so much Tony! This video is so in-depth and comprehensive. Looking forward to shooting.
Outstanding video, had the xt20 for over a year only started to use now as my Nikon FF is out of action. I may not go back to Nikon !
Thank you, for the tutorial! I fell in love with this "oldie"; altough there are nowadays better performing cameras out there but at the end of the day, it is the love and joy of photography...;-)
I hope you will have a tutorial for X100F too.
I look forward to your tutorial for Fujifilm X-T100
Dec 2019.. this tutorial is still gold for a beginner. Thank you!! :)
Wow, this helped a lot. Most used settings in one video. Thanks a lot!
I've been waiting about fuji xt20, thanks tony for your review, it is very helpful..
This is very good - even in 2022 this a good camera capable of excellent results. Thanks (again) for the tutorial.
Love the sooc jpgs and film sims from this camera.
Stunning. Very professional content. Really appreciated, thank you.
