I feel like every time something goes wrong it’s $1000 on these trucks but I’m starting to do everything myself so this is encouraging and that light drives me crazy going on and off
Before you do this I would change all of the ABS sensors and the rear differential sensors. And make sure that your front wheel hub bearings are not going bad they make the light come on too. The only reason I change out my module is because I took it to dodge and they told me that was what was wrong.
It's a couple of things that make that happen if your wheel bearing is going bad where your speed sensor is located. The sensor in the rear differential if there's a lot of metal shavings in your differential fluid.
Thanks for showing how to unhook the little red clip. I've already broken a few of them because no other you tube channel was nice enough to show us, & I couldn't figure it out ❤ Edit, I have this issue, but my NEW rear passenger caliper on my 2002 Ram is frozen. I may have another problem with the proportioning valve, because a brake line blew & I replaced it.
No problem I'm glad that my video could help you. I hope you get everything situated on your truck. Sometimes it's a little tricky you fix one thing something else messes up
When installing a screw; especially when you cannot see it; it is a good practice to rotate the screw backwards to full rotations as it will line up the treads, and avoid the possibility of stripping the screw or threads; you will know when you made two full rotations because each rotation where the threads line up, while holding the screw pressed in & rotating it; it will make an audible click sound; this procedure become more important as the threads either get finer or the screw gets smaller; which is normally utilized on most sensitive electronic parts. Peace
Addendum: I cannot help but wonder; since you had to wipe dust & dirt out before installing the new module; if you hit it with 90 psi of air to clean it off, and reinstalled it; if it would have sorted it out. As dust & heat are the electronics worst enemies. Tell you what, I am going to pull the module off mine and throw it in an ultrasonic cleaner for 30 minutes using a 10:1 ratio of "Flux Off", which is the solution used to clean pcb boards, on computer mother / daughter boards, and video graphics cards. I've replaced the front driver wheel hub that had the sensor on it and the one on the differential too. Still never fixed the issue with the abs/brake lights staying on 24/7. I checked out the link you put up but it says they don't have any ABS module compatible with my truck right now. I may just take the bulbs out from the cluster. 🤦
Hey I never thought about that taking the bulbs out of the cluster. Lol it would have been a heck of a lot cheaper. Maybe you can try to get one out of a junkyard. It takes about 1,500 miles for the truck to reprogram the module. At least that's how long it took my truck
There are a few different things that make the ABS parking brake light come on. 1. Speed sensors 2. Bad wheel hub 3. Rear differentials speed sensor 4. ABS module
I know I'm late to the game on this one, but on this model truck there are 3 diagnostics you can run on your own. Turning the key on and off three times is one. With the key off press and hold the odometer menu button then turn the ignition to the on position to run a gauge check (it will throw up three standard codes that are not issues 113, 264, 447), for the third, with the key off, press and hold the Step and Reset button on the overhead compass. Turn the key on and if it flashes then and reads "Pass" you are good.

Just curious, what happens if you don't replace anything? Does the light coming on intermittently cause any other problems? I don't think I want to spend another dime on this truck, lol
It only causes a problem when the light is on. When the light is on the ABS doesn't work anymore but the regular breaks will continue to work. That means if you stomp on the brakes really hard your brakes will lock up like they used to back in the day before we had ABS system.
@@JOATD Thanks so much for replying. The light was coming on and going back off. As of today it's just staying on.
