Thanks for your videos man, you inspired me to start fpv and now I have 30h on the sim and got my first tiny whoop last week, and this summer I'm getting a job so I can afford a 5inch quad. Thanks alot!!!
Hi Tom, what antenna do you install with DJI air unit in this footage (a long twin antenna in minutes of 2:10), and what is your type of quad that you're flying with? Thanks
It was mentioned, but I'm repeating again to everyone: Use a heavy drone for dives. 6" or 7". Heavy battery, and big GoPro. If you can get 1kg take off weight, that'll help a lot with stability when you throttle to zero.
Awesome video, helpful. One question I have is not totally related to dives but just flying around cliffs and stuff. If I lose line-of-sight with crossfire, will I failsafe? And do you think I will lose video if using analogue? How can I not lose my quad but feel free to fly wherever I want?
Have a gps on your quad and "gps rescue " enabled.. this can save you if you lose the signal. The quad should fly back to the take off spot. :) Losing signal situation depends on how big/wide is the object between you and the drone... if you go behind a mountain for example, yes you will loose the signal.. but not when flying behind a small rock or a house for example - crossfire will penetrate through that :) Analog signal is great for doing long range, do some research on UA-cam. Lot's of great content. Some guys are flying really far.
@@tomstrojnik i bought a chimera7 rtf from bg two months ago (added crossfire myself). its awesome. even survived tree crashes and brought home some sticks sitting on it :)
@@Paul-FPV About crossfire, please tell me how to insert immortal-T antenna in that TPU mount (below GPS)? -- Edit: Found some other solution with zip ties.
hi, nice vid, I know that place, been doing some cross country skiing overthere! I would like to know if you fly airmode and if this is always necessary for cinematographic filming. And what about your throttle %?
Awesome. Yes with FPV drones you always fly acro mode :) You're constantly working with your throttle and doing micro adjustments.. The drone won't hover by itself, you've gotta control it all the time.
Thanks for the tutorial. I am currently developing a 7 '' drone based on the XL-7 Chimera motors and frame. I have many mountains and rocks in the vicinity. While flying on 5" setup. But I'm afraid to fly far. I'm training on the simulator.
Hey man, thanks for watching.. yeah don't worry, first few weeks of flying FPV drone is all about surviving without crashing haha :) so start practicing in an open grass area.. a safe environment.. and slowly progress. Cheers
Hey, I'm an RC heli pilot about to get an LR drone for cinematic purposes mostly. Been loving your videos so far. I'd like to offer some advice I don't see anyone else doing in their videos: get a controller stick cam or if there's any other way to show what your current stick movements are that would help people understand what inputs you're giving to keep the proper position and recovery.
Great tutorial and video! Can you please describe the full kit what i should buy to have the same drone as yours in video?) You give the links, but as i understand, buying just Iflight Chimera7 Digital alone is not full kit:) What else should i buy? (goggles, remote controler, Go Pro e.t.c) Which models you recommend? Can you tell please) Because i just want to order and fly. So tired to google such things and actually suprised a lot, why companies not making such full included kits for noobies likes me) DJI released their new FPV drone, but the quality it's just so awful compare to Go Pro)

Greetings Tom! I have been a fan of your work here on UA-cam for a long time and seeing that your Showreel was highlighted in Airvuz was a great recognition of what you have achieved and a boost to enter the world of FPV, I congratulate you, I am about to buy my first drone to a travel vlog, but just to do dives and show nature with fpv, I have seen in your advice that propellers are a great ally to fly cinematic in a 5 inch, but the Iflight Evoque has just come out with two versions in DC Deadcat and in crushed X (I think it must have a stronger motor), my doubt is, do you feel that this type of DC frame influences the flight, or you lose the versatility that the X offers you, in addition to how much the clipping influences at the time to record with GoPro in X unlike DC, I hope you can help me, I consider your advice to make my purchase special, so I would appreciate your opinion too much, Greetings and again congratulations on your work!
Thanks for following my content, appreciate it. I havent tested the Evouque yet, but I did fley with the Titan - which essentialy has the same deadcat frame, and it flew great.. So for cinematic fpv purposes I would go with the deadcat frame, but ofc the "x" frame will offer more durability and a little bit better flight performance.
@@tomstrojnik Thanks Tom! I really appreciate your advice, I went for the X frame because it is my first drone and I will surely have many falls even after my 60 hours in Velocidrone, you are an inspiration and motivation to start my travel video content on UA-cam and show my country Mexico the wonder of nature from a FPV recording perspective! Hey, just a beginner asking a question. Do i need an fpv drone to dive. I dont really know about fpv drobes and i certainly wont be able to make one. All i have is a mini 2 se.
Great skills, incredible videos, congrats I'm aware most FPV maneuvers consist of pointing the whole drone as the cam, but couldn't it also be achieved with a synchronized camera / drone movement? (3 axis gimbal camera) For example, instead of pointing the drone nose down, turning the camera down and keeping the drone more horizontal. I think with the right software control, conventional camera drones could do most of what we see with FPV drones (wish I could know how to code it)
@@tomstrojnik I do own a Mavic, just wish it would behave in a different way. I believe with some software hack / mod it could get videos similar with the FPVs, with the advantage of a much longer flying time (and slower, sure) The DJI FPV is very expensive where I live, unfortunately. Also not easy to build our own like you do in the US.
