- This video shows how to mirror or screen your laptop on to you Sony Bravia TV via Wi Fi. I am sure a lot of people ( esp IT folks ) work with 2 screens and this mirroring comes really handy if you are working from home.

** I noticed that screen mirroring kept disconnecting when I was connecting to the internet and connecting the laptop to the TV at the same time. So I tried connecting the TV to the internet to the Wi Fi first & then when I connected my laptop to the same Wi-fi for internet it did not affect or drop the laptop to TV connectivity.
*** I keep posting quite a number of videos every now and then & I am sure if you subscribe or simply visit my channel home page you will like them.
These tips & tricks I share with you folks are not only computer/technology related however they span all other domains like food,daily life tricks etc.

I found it very difficult to understand. What did you type into your laptop to initiate the mirroring? Subtitles would be very useful here.

in the devices registered in the tv it says device is not compatible then this is my case

I had the same problem with my Sony Tv and tech support was clueless. I did manage to figure it out on my own ( only after hours and hours of trying possiable solutions).
The Key is IF you are using any web browser on your computer (with your computer being a non apple brand) The computer WILL NOT cast to Your TV UNLESS you are using a google chrome browser. Once you download Google Chrome Browser to your computer you should be able to cast to your tv.

Are there any written instructions? I am unable to understand the accent.
I was fine with all of this, but my issue is that my TV is showing up as both an audio and display device with it saying "not connected" after the initial connection.
I am not getting the option 'connect to wireless network'

Hi...I am able to add the device (my Sony Bravia TV) to my PC, but when I press Windows+P, click extend and go to 'Connect to a wireless display', my TV doesn't appear. Could you pls help!

Only thing ill say though is it appears that this system itself isnt great. Following all your steps everything went fine, except my laptop simply "couldn't conect". After confirming id done everything correctly i simply tried "Add a device" repeatedly, & after 4 or 5 attempts it finally worked!.
From reading the comments here im expecting it to fail/dissapear at some point but hey, nothong you've done wrong !!

Does this method require laptop to be connected to the internet via Wifi? Or it can project screen content without requiring any internet connection? Please reply soon.

Can you cast your TV to laptop. I mean whatever is being displayed on TV to be displayed on your laptop screen??
I am sure there would a way, I am guessing via HDMI to HDMI or VGA to HDMI cable because most of the laptops these days have a HDMI port.

Hi there buddy, I would recommend to go over the process once again, in my effort also the connection was quite bad in first few attempts, it takes time to load.

It detects the TV but then keeps connecting with no success. Does that happen because my Wi-Fi, Laptop, and TV have same name?
well the connection is intermittent at tomes. but you should avoid having same names for all 3

Thank you for this video - quite informative! It worked the first time (yesterday), but today my Bravia smart TV updated and, sadly, the mirroring is NOT working anymore... I keep seeing my TV as a device on my laptop (Windows 10), and my laptop appears on my TV as a device as well, however my laptop says that it cannot connect to this network (i.e. my Bravia TV).
I wonder how to get it to work again... Hope you can help, please? Thank you in advance.
Hi, if i was in your place, I would delete & add the device ( i.e. TV ) to the laptop once again & see if that works.
@@virenpat Thank you. I tried it already and it seems the laptop and TV are in fact not so compatible since it works some of the time only.
Ridiculous how it is this complicated to connect a laptop with all its resources when a tiny phone connects with just a tap.

It worked for me, but the lag (slow response) from my laptop to my tv was unbearable. So pretty much defeats the whole purpose. No matter if I extend or duplicate. Unless I am missing something. Definitely not my internet connection as that works just fine. Also I have a Sony Bravia tv, so not sure if anybody else has the same issue. Gave this video a thumbs up still because I was able to mirror my laptop to my tv. Just a shame it doesn't perform well enough.
Tim couldn't agree less, its kind of slow but then I tried only the movie on the laptop to the extended screen & worked on my latop & lag wasnt that bad

I'm going to try this out later on in the week, but for now, how is the refresh/speed quality of watching videos on your laptop through the cast onto the tv? Is the playback pretty much sync? Or is there lag? And what about audio? Thanks guy.
Tried youtube videos and local music/videos on laptop on TV, I would say performance over 90%

I have followed up to a point the tv is showing in bluetooth and other devices as wireless displays and docks and other devices (not connected) but when i click on it to connect, it just comes up with a box saying remove device option but does not connect. I hit windows P and got the project screen and clicked on connect to a wireless display, the tv comes up with ,display, written under it, i clicked on this and it said can not display after a few seconds of thinking. what do i try next?

Frankly, I am not sure sure of the Miracast compatibility on a lot of products. If your laptop has Miracast and the TV has all connectivity capacity, it should work
when the computer goes black because of screen saver. will tV also go black while watching a movie? How do I override that?

Mandar, I would suggest to try a Wifi dongle like - Anycast for that. Believe me I had such a hard time figuring how to screencast my iphone on to the same TV & in the end I tried Anycast dongle and it worked. This is my other video on that - ua-cam.com/users/edit?o=U&video_id=HGH-unWub-k. Mostly it should work because whether its iphone or Mac , we both are trying to let Apple & Sony talk.
For mirroring you want to go ahead & buy a apple TV, you got to be big guy :), just kidding. Please try my other video & if it works I will be more than happy. - Viren.

doesn't work. tv connets but there is a delay of like 1 minute and the extended screen option doesnt work either as windows cannot be dragged into the tv and I only see my desktop

I'm done with all the steps but at the end my laptop says
"Couldn't Connect" and on my Bravia TV it has a note "Registration Failed". Is the problem on my hardware? I checked on my laptops driver and it supports metacast. Mine is ASUS X455LF, i3-4005U CPU @1.70GHz Intel(R) Core (TM) processor. Thank you for an answer..

Hello, I just followed this tutorial and I'm following it successfully down to a T until 6:27 (and yes from my PC I have successfully connected to my TV, I get the "remove device" option. The name of my TV even already appeard when I click the "Extend" one).
A message could only pop up in my TV (I changed the TV name to "Aliya") IF and ONLY IF I connect to a wifi network name (the SSID of my TV, not the device's name just like you said) in my PC's network list.
And when I clicked "Accept" on my TV it connects my PC (though it says my PC name on my TV is "No Name"). But from my PC I still can't connect to my TV?

first of all thanks a lot for this video. I have a 2014 Sony BRAVIA (Malaysian model) and almost same hp laptop which you have used. But it doesn't cast either from my moto x4 phone or laptop. and you will not believe that I had a very basic model of a Panasonic smart phone (Rs 5500/-) when i had purchased this TV and that smart phone used to get connected in jus one touch. Other than that, it never connected with my any of the devices. Alas!

I liked your video but which sony TV model you are using and i have KLV-32R562C and also i have hp laptop model 1AC75PA which has MIracast Available,with HDPC but in my TV its showing 1 Device connected and asking for feeding content but in my pc showing a error of Couldn,t Connected. so Any Solution Please Reply.

I have tried this multiple time with Surface to Sony Bravia. The problem seems to come after I am connected to WiFi and then select WiFi Direct. The TV disconnects from WiFi. Then they will not shake hands even though they both recognize the other device.
