Even when Rob is wrong he still says that nonsense. For someone who always talks about not giving a damn what people think, he ALWAYS wants validation from others when spouting out nonsense.
his last voice acting on the show was his Yell during the finals that brought them through the last set. "DON'T YOU DARE LOOK DOWN!!! VOLLEYBALL IS A SPORT WHERE YOU'RE ALWAYS LOOKING UP!!!!"
What I think Miya meant by “you’re a goody two shoes” is that Kageyama always picks the safest and easiest route that will allow them to get a point. He doesn’t really take risks too often and he pretty much chooses where the spiker is going to hit for them. In episode 6, Date Tech took advantage of this and Kageyama even says “they made me choose anything but the middle”. He also doesn’t reprimand his teammates because of his fear of what happened in middle school happening again And Pat you’re completely right about Kageyama’s thoughts right now.
This. And also it’s the fact he also chooses his team first and listens to what they say first (he wants to avoid being a tyrant as much as possible like he was in junior high). This is opposite to how Atsumu plays and sees Kageyama as someone who is limited by what his team can do. And doesn’t force them to improve and be better
Crow’s Eye and also the fact that it conflicts him more bcs of Oikawa’s advice since he looks up to him... and then Atsumu suddenly calling him out. Oikawa is a setter who can bring out 100% of his spikers and Kageyama isn’t doing the same to his spikers. i think Kageyama took his advice literally. He is giving his spikers the “toss they want” but it doesnt leash out their max ability as a spiker.
atsumu meant it more like a diss that seems like it doesn't cross the line but also does at the same time. he meant 'i thought you were gonna be feral but actually you're just a suck-up"
@@kittyarchon nah I don't think it was a diss at all. I think they mention it later too, that it wasn't meant to be disrespectful at all. Rather, Atsumu meant more like you're bringing yourself down to your teams level rather than bringing your team up to yours. You're being too nice essentially, just giving them what they want rather than what they need, which like Pat and Wellz said, they need a challenge so they can rise up to it.
Rob really needs to realize that even though Haikyuu focuses a lot on different characters, at the end of the day, Hinata was and still is the MAIN CHARACTER. I get having favorite characters but don't shit on the main one's progress. I'm both excited for and dreading the couple next episodes.
Ya notice how he shoved jerry when they cheered for Hinata? He’s just trying to get a reaction out of y’all, he wins every time someone complains or whines about him in the comments
He didn't drop it Rob you dribbling dumpling. It wasn't a match setting so there was no one to follow up. The ball didn't hit the ground and it went straight up.
That's not what Miya meant my calling him a goody two shoes. Its that Kageyama always sets to match that hitter, now he's going to start challenging them to hit higher. And the way he told the Nishinoya to get out of the way was very offensive in the Japanese language. The way he said it is not something you would say toward the upperclassmen or anyone older/above you in the Japanese culture.
The reason that Coach Ukai's voice sounds different is because the voice actor sadly passed away after recording for season 3 (I think). Now it's someone new
Guys, unfortunately the old voice actor for Coach Ukai passed away, the last line he said was that awesome "Volleyball is a sport where you're always looking up!" line
What you guys were saying about kageyama after the reaction is related to why kindaichi feels bad about kageyama and asks Hinata about him. Obviously in middle school kageyama was too much of a tyrant and his team hated him. After seeing how well hinata works with kageyama, kindaichi starts to feel responsible for how they treated kageyama back then because maybe there was something kindaichi could’ve also done to improve back then but instead they just blamed kageyama. But when hinata says that “fighting is natural”, he means that “sure, kageyama is kind of a dick but there’s nothing wrong with arguing back and standing you’re ground”. Sure kageyama needs to learn how to communicate with his team more effectively, but it is also up to his team to help him understand what is and isn’t ok to say or do.
12:25 Yeah, coach Ukais voice actor Kazunari Tanaka died before the recordings of the last 2 episodes for season 3. R.I.P. he was iconic at what he did
He calls him a goody two shoes because he just does what the spikers ask of him. Kageyama never challenges that request and doesn’t do what he thinks is best. That’s what I think at least
Not really. It literally translates as, “Nishinoya-san, in the way 邪魔す (jyama su).” “Get out the way” is どけ/退け(doke). So yeah, “You’re in the way” is rather close. It’s more about the context and the way he said it. It’s considered very rude to talk to someone like that, especially to an upperclassman.
@@clarev.377 To be fair, 邪魔 (jama) usually denotes a more negative connotation than just simply being "in the way" because it implies that the person "in the way" is being a nuisance/hindrance in some way. It's just that English and Japanese have differing degrees of politeness in speech that there really isn't any way to make a more accurate translation because of it
Likian5 I know. I’m simply saying that the translation is as close as it can get due to it being the direct translation. Not to mention he still used 敬語(Keigo) aka “parts of speech that shows respect” when he’s talking, so it’s rather complicated. Both are equally disrespectful due to the culture and context. Although directly telling others to “get out the way” (退け) is still kind of worse than “in the way” (邪魔) in a way. But yeah, both are impolite. Especially if it’s directed to an upperclassman, as stated before.
14:03 the previous couch ukai seiyuu died that's why it sounds different. his last lines in Haikyu were "Volleyball is a sport where you always look up". he did an amazing job voicing couch ukai :(
The coach(ukai) 's voice is different because the original voice actor, Kazunari Tanaka passed away. It's really inspiring how his last lines as Ukai was, "Don't look down. Volleyball is a sport where you always look up."
By "goody two shoes" he means Kageyama is a suck-up to his teammates. Kageyama never pushes them to their limits because he is so scared of what happened in middle school, forcing Kageyama to adapt to their mistakes instead of making them better.
I looked it up this time! 18:13 His name is Onagawa Tarou (Onagawa is his last name). 2nd year From haikyuu.fandom.com's wiki: His nickname among his teammates is "Pantalons" because he resembles Shintaro Sakamoto from the band Yura Yura Teikoku. Goody two shoes means he always throws the set he thinks is easiest for the spiker to hit that's what made oikawa so good since he could bring out the max potential however kageyama is a prodigy who can make his team better by forcing them to hit spikes they didnt even know they could hit. Example tsukishima being able to hit higher with the other spiker but not with kageyama because that spike is harder for tsukishima to hit
Guys when you finish watching Haikyuu you better start watching Slam Dunk best sports anime of all time, plus is a basquetball anime i know that you will love it

He is really trying to do what they want in the game more so than what he wants. Feel free to add your opinion or correct me.
