  • If your following along this journey just want to say thank you for making it to episode 3! So, I decided to trash the original electrical pan I made due to lack of durability. Also there needs to be a metal crosspiece to support the seat and lock which will be welded on and the original tray would have needed to be cut in half. ANYWAYS, I welded on this new electrical tray as well as the seat hoop and i think it looks great.
My current issue is that bondo can not be powder coated. SO I am in talks with a friend of a friend who has a tig welder which will be able to fill up all the holes you can see at 9:06 and hopefully make it look a lot nicer. Once I get that figured out I can start with molding the seat out of fiber glass which I am looking fwd too!

Good for you for tackling the fabricating yourself. Me?...I got a buddy who will help me out for a bunch of beer, but it will go smoother for sure! I'll keep watching your progress

Thanks dude Lmao yeah Im hoping a friend of a friend can help with touching up the welds cause there’s a lot of holes that need to be filled but my welder is butt.

@@jimmybuildsbikes HA! Your welder might be crap. In my case, "The welder" is crap. I'd be better off doing it in fibreglass...or wood! Hell, left to my own devices, that cardboard template might have been the finished product.

I’m not a master welder. But wire speed will either burn it or put too much wire to it. Typically I keep mine in between 3 and 4 on the wire speed. On minimum for the amperage. I’m typically welding thin metals. But thick max and 3 on the wire speed. Also gasless welders are junk. Sure u can weld with them. But gas is where it’s at. Also spot welding with it helps. Couple second on. Couple seconds off. Jump around too. If u see it cherry hot. It’s too hot bud
