@Max Freeman The most important claim (to anyone that's taken Macroeconomics) that this man makes is that Saudi Arabia will only trade their oil for U.S. Dollars. For the longest time this claim was unsubstantiated and only people that actually buy Saudi Arabian oil in bulk (millions of barrels) would know for sure and so far none of them have spoken up.
Just finished reading his highly compelling book "Confessions of an Economic Hitman" and the next minute I am here. Hardly two minutes ago I ended up reading his remarkable book. I would recommend everyone to read his confessions in his book. The book is more about fixing the current economic system and world order than the past confessions. He has cited countless examples to prove his arguments that how a march to the global empire has become unstoppable and how the system of corporatocracy is exploiting the world resources. One who reads his book can easily understand the role of WB, IMF and USAID in making America a global empire.
I read his book before watching this video and I felt like he skipped so many things that left me breathless... I strongly recommend to read his book because a 18 minutes talk can't explain the last 50 years of history! We should move towards a solution!

Yes. We at Tamil Nadu - southern state of India have started doing that. Lakhs and lakhs of people of TN have stood up on the streets and got our ancient cultural rights (Jallikattu) back, that was banned a couple of years ago. And the locals have decided not to consume (local shop owners decided not to sell) any beverages that ruins our rivers and water reservoirs, which is the only source for our farmers who produce food for our nation. Also, to support our farmers the locals and shop owners have decided to sell and consume only the natural drinks (like Tender Coconut) produced by farmers. The change is happening!
Bankay89 there is no need for that to happen, the damage has already done, now "if" the state goverment is desolved and reformed again, there is a chance if that happpens, maybe be then it would be too obvious if what you said happen
Mahendra Babu Rajendran wow, this is amazing! Countries all over the world could take notes from India. Could you please tell us how the people made this possible?

for anyone interested to dive deeper into the phenomenon that Perkins describes, you might benefit from knowing that this strategy is commonly referred to as 'debt-trap diplomacy'. through withholding intellectual property and commoditizing science and technology, capitalists in countries in the global north (developed countries) corner countries in the global south ('developing' countries) and sell them loans that are too high, so that when they default (can't pay back) they have to sell off land and other resources very cheaply to pay off those loans/debts. from John's days it has developed further and now it's got a heavy focus on all things information technology (although definitely not limited to that). technology companies keep the 'recipes' (intellectual property) and then license the use of their recipes to companies like Foxconn who then makes Apple's iPhones (just one example among many).
His voice is shaking. There's a pang of heavy guilt inside, and when you are behind the deprivation and destruction of several country's economies and you know millions of people died or suffered and still suffering right now because of what you did, you cannot hide that feeling of guilt. The same happened to the Philippines during the late '70s to the middle '80s, an economic hit man destroyed the nation, the people lives and even to the present, the struggle remains. Millions people gradually died of different causes due to the effect of poverty a clear repercussion of economic destruction. Yes - millions were deprived to achieve a good standard of living.
Well..this guy John knows who setup the loans for the Phillipine government in those days..including the one for the nuclear power plant which was never used. I'm sure Cesar Virata knows who was the contact for the World Bank.
Yes, my wife is from Indonesia. The USA in the main have decimated it. Not only through deforestation but through allowing the locals to desire a western lifestyle, cars, new houses, burgers, doughnuts, TVs, internet, phones. Every country has bought it almost! There are now just a few simple people left who do not desire the material lifestyle. Now the celebrity culture has hit too! In 2000 Sumatra was still quite beautiful. Now the orang rimba who try to hold to their subsistence lifestyle have to try an camp often in a palm oil plantation. That money is laundered to Singapore and Malaysia and then to new York, London, Holland and ultimately to the Satanists running the show. They now want to depopulate after causing the actual damage!
@@shooter9958 Exactly, and that’s the speech he needs to be giving!!! He needs to Name names! He must say the names of all of those people out loud! and tell the world their responsibilities, he must tell the world who was responsible at the World Bank? I pray God gives him the courage and strength and he does it!!!
And why the F*** are they laughing????!!!!! Do you know how many lives have been destroyed by people like these, by governments like these? I guess it's always easier to be at the winning end of the fight :/
I was kinda surprised to see John speaking on this public forum. I’m only halfway through, but felt compelled to stand up and be counted. This is the truth, as I know it. Standing up and speaking it loudly and clearly, does make one a target though. Thanks John. Thanks for speaking the truth.
Perkins is really just illustrating the famous remarks of David Rockefeller when at a Bilderberg conference he described his New World Order as the "supranational sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers". A nice way of saying an arrogant global fascist regime where David The Rock just happens to be one of the great pubas.

Which people around the World u killed pretty much everything around you, and what lasted hates u so much that nothing but a big war would stop the anger we feel
@drissla125 Unfortunately that is how it will go down. A new country will become the economic/military powerhouse backed by the IMF, World Bank, and the same greedy investors who have used the US so successfully. And the cycle will continue. Once the next country gets a taste of economic superiority, human nature will kick in and they will lie to themselves just as Americans and Israelis do and Germans did. They will believe they deserve it and are entitled. And they will all be too busy with their lives to question the system, or to look at who's neck they ate standing on to have it so good. Worse part is, it won't even make them happy. Just like the other examples.
I read the book two years ago. Opened my eyes to the story behind the story as he calls it. He has left us with hope that we can change things. Our freedom has depended on we the people all along. We've just been tired, maybe sleeping. Time to get to it again.

The most important thing is that he's using his wisdom to defend the truth. He had an option of retiring in luxury, but decided to be part of the future through awareness campaigns. Bravo, to him 👏🏼
I had the same thought initially, but remember his additional admonition. He said, "Behind every story, there is ANOTHER story." So, what is the story behind this most up-to-date Economic Hitman's "mea culpa"? Does he still have an ulterior motive? Is he still employed by those who see benefits in this new distraction? Exactly what is his advise? All I heard him say was "We can do it. It is happening." IF, . . . IF his real goal is to facilitate and help create a real movement, a real revolution, I'm sitting here without a new clue about how to do that. I don't feel good about this man. I did not see or feel the necessary and sufficient contrition that his history demands when speaking in public about his diabolical past. He actually laughed and smiled while speaking. Maybe if he had been on his knees?
@@drszot "Maybe if he had been on his knees?" who do you think you are, that anyone should have to beg you for your forgiveness? I read John's books and deeply appreciate the unveiling of these dark truths. That being said, I disagree fundamentally with the idea that "predatory" capitalism is somehow different than capitalism. It's all capitalism. Predation is inevitable in a system based on differential advantage and self-maximization.
yes, it's fundamentally predatory, as in the predator operates covertly with the target typically unaware until it is too late. The predation has become so extreme it is now sometimes referred to as inverted totalitarianism. Corporations and the government work together to shake down the population. We are constantly told the opposite of the truth. The American dream is possible only for one in a million. The 999, 999 have to pay for it. "Trickle-down" economics is really trickle-up economics. The exploitation will continue until all resources are consumed and collapse follows. Eventually recovery will not be possible at all. We will enter a new dark age. Fun times.
@Manny Santiago if you say that to the brainwashed public they will call you a spoiled, self entitled communist who want the government to take care of him, that is why it's difficult to make a change in a nation that has been ruled by a corporate dictatorship system for most of it's history, look at how much fire Bernie Sanders is under just because of his demands for a public health care, let alone trying to do the same for education and apply proper regulations for the critical industries....
@Manny Santiago Sorry, but no. Capitalism only has one goal: profit. Any rules you put in place, get in thew way of that, and will be overturned. For an example: neoliberalism. All capitalism becomes predatiory, because that's how you make the most money.
The problem with people accepting that, is that unfortunely theres is this misconception that the alternative to capitalism is socialism/communism, which is absolutely untrue.

This man has books making money off his past crimes. He has not proven himself to be good, and nothing close to being a man of the people. If what h3's saying is true, his run is over and he's monetizing his past actions in another way. And the ones in power clearly don't take too much issue with what he's doing because he's still here.
Greed is the heart soul and mind of people, actually. If you could make a million dollars by taking 20 dollars from 50,000 people at the press of a button, with no consequences to yourself, would you take it? Guaranteed succes? I think you'd be hard pressed to find someone who'd actually say no to that. Theoretically they might, but if this opportunity actually presented itself, it'd take a saint not to do so. However, we mustn't forget there are many charities getting millions in donations and this is also in the heart of many people, compassion. We must use this compassion in combination with intelligence to curb the greedy nature of people. Not through communism, but through regulated capitalism
For capitalism provides an incentive to excell, by giving those with the most effective strategies the most money. It's the job of lawmakers to make sure the most profitable way is also the most ethical way. But this is not achieved through communism, which has left millions in starvation and forced silence.
It takes wisdom to confess your bad past with guilt and call for action. I read his book before seeing this video& indeed his account of depriving people's rights was depressing. Been from Somalia- his details are Very factual& easy to notice each day including today& certainly tomorrow. How we use his confession determines who we are as humans
Why is he saying it now? Usually confessing profits them someway. To take off the attention from the real bad guys maybe when everything goes to pot. Nah, I want the real message he is sending.

The "State", as Nietzsche said, is he most brutal invention ever created... no one really know what it means, nor truly understand its capacity to erase and distort, they can bury huge transgressions if it helps it survive. And survival, continuation, is its main purpose. And as it is said in the "Grapes of Wrath", if the state stops growing, it dies.

Thank you. I am 62 and have read books by this man, so glad to have this shared by a friend with me.
for anyone interested to dive deeper into the phenomenon that Perkins describes, you might benefit from knowing that this strategy is commonly referred to as 'debt-trap diplomacy'. through withholding intellectual property and commoditizing science and technology, capitalists in countries in the global north (developed countries) corner countries in the global south ('developing' countries) and sell them loans that are too high, so that when they default (can't pay back) they have to sell off land and other resources very cheaply to pay off those loans/debts.
from John's days it has developed further and now it's got a heavy focus on all things information technology (although definitely not limited to that). technology companies keep the 'recipes' (intellectual property) and then license the use of their recipes to companies like Foxconn who then makes Apple's iPhones (just one example among many).
He will never be set free from the heavy load of his guilt until he makes peace with God.
@@shooter9958 Exactly, and that’s the speech he needs to be giving!!! He needs to Name names! He must say the names of all of those people out loud! and tell the world their responsibilities, he must tell the world who was responsible at the World Bank? Then the fear and shaking in his voice will be gone!

It is not the ordinary American false , they are the minority which control the wealth of the USA

+GoodManlife Energy Very well said..We are in the age of awakening thankfully
I read John's books and deeply appreciate the unveiling of these dark truths. That being said, I disagree fundamentally with the idea that "predatory" capitalism is somehow different than capitalism. It's all capitalism. Predation is inevitable in a system based on differential advantage and self-maximization.
Can't cross too far over the line or you might find an extra hole in your dome....
yes, it's fundamentally predatory, as in the predator operates covertly with the target typically unaware until it is too late.
@Manny Santiago Sorry, but no.

@@sam7811 that was a bit harsh, don't you think? Being a woman I can assure you it is not just the "make up" companies that make women feel that way. She is beautiful and has a good heart. Tearing people down is not how you get people to "fix" themselves. It only creates a bigger divide.
Focus on your own race issues before jumping on a save the world platform. That has never helped blacks.
No money in peace
@ Finch economic victory doesn’t depend on beauty and emotional good heart degeneracy rather it’s all forms of war.
Sadly we have been hearing this kind talk for years now, the Panama papers came out 4 years ago, books have written about it and it has gotten even worse.
They control what we think, what we get angry or scared about, they have gotten really good at it
Afflict the comfortable, comfort the afflicted
This man was in the original zeitgeist film with a lot of other important people with a very important message. The first film was a bit unrefined and was mostly taken as an attack on religion. Which it was not. The next films were more focused and had a better overall message. I'm happy to see this man again. I am a very empathetic person and I've always felt him very strongly.... let's focus on bringing out the good in everyone....
For him to still be alive and able to go around and speaks on this information tells me this is still not the source of the problem. If you misdiagnose, you implement the wrong cure, which will not cure.
And what would you write if he had been assassinated earlier?
He didn't call out the pope and the story behind his story that's why he can say this and live one voice so what the sheep are blind deaf and cowards
He's alive because major media and publishing companies ignore him just like they do with Noam Chomsky. No need to kill him just let him be ignored. If people like him become a menace that's when they go to jail like Manning or Julian Assange or get killed.
We came, we saw, he died... That's how they do it!
I’m 8 min in. And what this guy is telling I know he is telling the truth.
Based on WHAT specifically?
'Just a feeling' is most likely your answer.
W M C nah its his testimony about what is going on and what he did!
Because some of it sounds so insane and incomprehensible but it did happen.
@@commonsense31 He is an entertainer and you've been entertained. All is well in the world.
W M C nah the world is messed up, but also the fact that America has been proven to employ these kinds of tactics!
And the fact that America is loosing influence and their old tactics doesn’t work anymore because of China, the EU and the world economies.
@@commonsense31 I detect English your second language. Impressive. If Perkins reveals Israel's activities, their part in the world being as it is (your words, 'messed up') I'll be impressed and most likely he'll be dead soonafter. Otherwise, your 'nahs' and my 'yawns' fail to excite at least one person.
Great share I commend this brave man for his honesty I respect . He is speaking truth his words are valuable and valid he's right.
Putting words into action
Thank you. For everything. We appreciate you. We believe you.
Very impactful & attention holding speech even without using slides! That's very great!
Yes! Question everything. Such a good talk. Got me FIRED up!
“Since you can’t pay your debt give us your resources” - predatory help
The irony - that is what Pompeo accuses China doing in less strong countries.
usury
@@bircruz555 This what China is doing now.
Thanks. Unfortunately they wont wake up until it is their turn with no way out. Done trying to explain this to folks. We should be happy there is still old men like him around.
There is a lot of tension and regret in this man's voice.
His book clearly says he is not an economist but he just posed as one and was asked to! However no matter who you are and hat you do, you impact the economy. This is what he means. An economist has a PhD in economics and is more analytical, tries to be objective and doesn't care about politicians or parties.. Perkins functioned as a salesman and he was very good at it.
Boycotting the corporations does no good when DC bails them out with our tax money. :(
amazing insight; very true
So far the only solution I've come across is to just drop out of society form a small kahmune and try and survive on a homestead
one more solution ; mass prayers to our Gods everyday for salvation along with baby steps towards a better world
I read his book and now think how I feel when I meet arrogant young Americans with usaid in Africa thinking the world of themselves...
Amen all those NGO folks with their college degrees and liberal ideals...
I bought his book a couple of years ago after I found it at half price books, and it’s just been on my bookshelf. I need to read ASAP.
Watching this during quarantine.
I'm chilled! What a world we are living in 😭
Capitalism is not to blame. What we have is not capitalism. It's a corporatocracy.
CorpoKleptocracy is the word you're looking for.
They're not mutually exclusive... Capitalism is an economic system and corporatocracy is a system of governance/social power. They can and do function in the same nations at the same time.
The "Yankee Empire: Aggressive Abroad and Oppressive at Home"
you have a very nice username :)
True
Oppressive??
Have you ever been to China ?
@@farhanniloy7552Of course that person has never been to China!! If someone calls America oppressive they almost certainly have never been out of the state they were born in and very well have yet to make it out of their parents basement!! This comment section is the "Where Are They Now" Occupy Wall Street addition!!
Thank you for the report.
This is what you call a learned person. 👍😎
His last two sentences were "I look forward to taking this journey with you. Thank you so much." Was he talking about the journey backstage and the thanks for the check he received for yammering about common knowledge for anyone with half a brain? Not to mention he got some free advertising about his book that I'm sure is anything but free.
And here at worst economical crisis ever, our leaders agreeing for the IMF conditions for another loan.
This is amazing and the Still very few have seen it:( please help spread the word!
I was lucky enough to shake this mans hand at a conference once. Its nice to see him speaking about fixing what he broke.
Souls have to come here and evolve and grow up...takes time, especially the lost ones!!! We have to show them the way and lead them. Good talk thank you for your honesty and insights.
