Damn mark u look baked af😆
Wow. I was thinking of getting back in to sledding with the Indy 600 Now looking at this bad boy. Yeah Ski-doo's also rock. I live two strokes snowmobiles
I have dyno tested my polaris 850 engine and it put out 169.1 horsepower when fully broke in
@CHARLES HANSEN crank
Jesus Mark, what did you get into before filming this
The amazing facts and specs of Polaris😂 that's what makes him Look surprised and Fresh.
hopefully they have it figured out. the Polaris 800 twins have proven how brand loyal people can be. haven't had a good 800 since the ves triple. there was an engine that could make 180+ on the trail all day, get good mileage and run to 10k miles easily and had such a linear power band.hopefully it works out and actually is reliable and bullet proof!
until the center seal went out
@@oldslow3694 lol! On the 700 and 800 VES triple then never had a center seal.
Talking to local guys that have the 850 they love them. They claim that they've had zero they've had zero troubles and the motors run smooth.
i stand corrected how about waterpump seal. there have been issues especialy when sled sits
@@oldslow3694 the ultra and the xcr 600 the first year had a seal in there. But any slides that's it have the potential problem with crank seals getting dry
The biggest problem with them old sleds was we were able to get so much horsepower over what we bought them with. You buy a 95 horsepower XLT and with some help the aftermarket you added 20 25% horsepower. With the 800 xcr they came stock at 155 horsepower and with some help with the aftermarket your trail riding 180 190 horsepower.
Then you had the average Joe build this horsepower and never pull a spark plug to check it and before you know it you had Pistons being smoked.
i can say it is alot off 850 owners in sweden that regret getting the 850, the Engine isnt ready yet,, it hangs the rpm, bogging and so on, i have done 700 km on my sled and i am not happy, been to the dealer 5 times and i am not alone
well now tec from polaris has adjust my map on the 850, can just say i have a big smile, it seams like the Swedish gas has been the problem, now is the map for Swedish gas and it is a new motor, will ride more tomorow
not 4year warranty in sweden :( we only get 2 years
I've heard there are some issues with this new motor, using up spark plugs just to name one. Is this true? Buddy is looking to buy one.
depends how you ride. if you let motor warm up before driving off you will not go thru plugs. i have 1015 miles & no issues xc129 850
Good trip I'm guessing mark? Lol lots of sun
The 800 in my 02 Polaris is a reliable motor, but that doesn't seem to be the case for the more recent 800 motors. 4 year warranty or not, you can't ride it when it's broke. Still needs a couple years to be proven.
i have a 04 800 and they have tendencies to snap the crank so no they arent reliable xD. If you want 2 stroke reliability you cant look further than 600cc
@@edwardabrahamiii3742 i only know that the liberty 700 was decent. But nowadays is you want to buy a reliable 2 stroke engine get the 600 etech
I’d still pick Ski-Doo’s Etec 800 over the 850s any day
Okay!
The 850s are amazing I own both doo and poo. The doo has more power and a smother ride on the road but the poo is so much more fun to ride
So you must like replacing crank shafts and the stupid sealed bearings every other year? You see more people bitching about melted pistons and bad cranks on any doo talk thread. Not so with Polaris. I been a diehard doo fan for many years but since they started sealing crank bearings and leaning them back to the razors edge I’ve blown many. Even after fatting up the jets and opening up the fuel screws they are still iffy at best. No more doos for this guy.
Arctic Cat is claiming 165 "class" HP for 2020 from 800. Why is Polaris not willing to disclose HP?
Because when it doesn’t live up to expectations they can cover their ass by saying they never published an official number. That’s why you see companies such as ski doo and Yamaha actually publishing hp numbers because the engine consistently hits that number or higher.
I thought the 800s made 163 hp to begin with?
@@jamesmatthews4840he 800 Polaris made 143hp here in Norway at Sealevel, I dunno about the new 840
Bulletproof 800 !!!!! Really that's a joke right Mark ?? lol
800 H.O. is bulletproof
Ginormous is not a word. Mark, you use it all the time. Made up words don’t make me believe the size more. I think it is time to get a new playbook. Kevlar Lake, loud handle, gauntlet. It has all become so tiring. I went back and watched some reviews from the past. They are identical.
How about a paradigm switch that's a good one
Yeah; the buzz words have to go.
Marketing...,. Don't forget, what else can one say about every damn model, engine, and chassis? What else should they say? It's a tough job. Every damn model is cool no matter what brand. Pick your riding style, budget, buy what you want. End of story
Can you get 5000kms out of one b4 it blows?
I got 600kms on mine and it blew LOL
did I hear bulletproof 800?? that's a statement that will hurt your credibility.
hello i well from 2015 the 800 was pretty reliable. Befor 2015 the 800 was shit
A lot of credibility lost with that statement imo
So many of the older and newer big blocks are garbage....Long term durability isn't their strong suit. I still stand by the older carbed 440, 500, and 600 sleds.
@@northerntoyota7584 2015 800 H.O. is what he is talking about. that new motor runs
the 2008-2009 was the only 800 cfi that had issues 2010 and up were great engines.
Hey, you missed a spot on your chin.
Cool story, except it's an 840cc. To circumvent those details..in fact, any usable details, stuff gets peddled like "850 class" and more of that meaningless drivel like "class(?) leading" and such. Note that there's not an actual number to be found anywhere that proves any of the claims made, just slick presentations and pretty pictures. These *trax videos are more infomercials than actual industry journalism, to be honest but hey...gotta keep the lights on, I guess.
why did polaris walk by the four-stroke market? because no one wants a four-stroke mountain sled
BC Beast you mountain guys aren’t the only riders out there, we would love a 4 stroke axys here in the Midwest
Nickolai Buck WOAH! You dont speak for all the midwest riders dude.
Two stoke all the way here in mn
And bring back the triple
I live in MN and I would never consider anything but a four stroke. Most 2 strokes are like bombs waiting to go off.
What in the absolute F is on this
Guys chin ??’
I guess snowtrax missed all the 840 failures happening this season...
You don't bite the hand that feeds you...
name the failures, per 850 model no o ne from media has reported them yet. how many motors how many failures
@@oldslow3694 the media don't report about it since the manufacturers are there big sponsors. There was one snowmobile magazine in Sweden that decided to be on the consumers side and started to question for example belt life. They lost sponsorship from all manufacturers and almost went in to bankruptcy when new owners stepped in and they don't mentions any problems any more.
With that said, according to a message from Polaris to the dealers there are a estimation of up to 5% of the produced engines up to a certain period that fails. It is mainly the inboard crankshaft bearing that fails but also the bearing on the PTO side. They started to glue the bearing on the PTO side in place when they discovered the problems, for 2020 thy have added a retainer for that bearing.
@@SuperPsychoDave thanks for info. years ago snow tech magazine would publish any team tips or info bulletins from the manufactures
David Wännström this is true, my friend got a new engine and also the oil system plugged causing oil lines to pop off due to pressure.
Why are you saying 850cc all the time? The engine is 839cc, call it 850 if you want but it is not 850cc. No mentioning of all failing engines and software problems that we see at least here in Sweden, but you don't bite the hand that feeds you.
849cc !!!!
No response from A/C ............
They love to eat Pistons do the research
Research takes time. The engine hasn't even been out for a full season. You have 4 years to blow it up under warranty. Who cares :D
@@LouCFur90 may you enjoy the long walk home when it goes dead!
@@LouCFur90 that's ok I will enjoy my Cat's that make it home everytime. Including my 03' Firecat F7 with 8,600 miles that would drag this 850 any day.
@@383cutlass8 an '03 f7? Good thing it goes fast in a straight line because that all it does. Save up your pennies and get into a real sled kid, you're wayyyyy behind in the times
Josh Chilson funny my buddies 2017 cat m8000 blew a piston last year had to ride on my 95 xlt to get home
all you need to know about an engine in 5 mins lol
The 850 has more bottom end power than the old 800 but is no faster. They went to war with SkiDoo in the 850 class and lost.
That's clutching issue I believe for top speed. 2020 season will tell us more
thought you posted your polaris 850 blew up, was that fake news
All of your reviews just lost credibility because of the term "bulletproof liberty 800"
huntingrules1231 they lose credibility because of the term “Polaris “
Cry about it you Nancy lmao
Terrible reliability
There are people that have made livings off of fixing and "bullet proofing" polaris engines when the other manufacturers make dependable engines from the factory 😂
Bulletproof liberty 800? You will say anything for money....
Too bad the motor is filled with issues.
I'm dead serious I want to see it got any video evidence?
Was listening till i heard the BULLETPROOF LIBERTY 800 Sorry , unsubscribed lol
Amen to that one...
What other company offers a 4 year warranty?
Doo does
@@duffman1241 it’s doesn’t matter what kind of warranty they offer. I’d rather have a 1 year warranty and a sled that doesn’t blow up than a 5 year warranty with a sled that I won’t be riding because it blew up too many times
