@@rockspowersports No worries. I'm just mad they didn't put an adjustable front end on it so it would be easier to narrow the stance for days spent totally off trail.
No narrow front end on that sled. same width as the VR1. What you felt with the ski lift was the fact that the sled has 1.6" lugs so the rear end doesn't like to rotate.
@@rockspowersports I'm curious, do you know what setting that torsion spring was on? I have an Axys Assault and that rear end has almost no give unless I have that torsion spring set to soft it rides better.
So some of these used high mile sleds are just groomed trail miles? Should I steer clear of a 5400 mile 2018 or newer? I've seen some that LOOK really good almost as good as new but really high miles. Are the newer engines good to go the distance?
it looks like it likes to dart im trying to fiigure out if i want to get a switchback xc i currently have a 2022 indy xc adventure 137 maybe i need a bigger lug track ?
@Brandon Plum it’ll all depends what you want to do with the sled. If you mostly trail ride I’d stick with your Indy xc. The switchback is decent at trail and good off trail.
Are you glad you didn’t end up getting the assault? It seems like you were a bit diss appointed with it, that’s the sled you had ordered. If you get a new one what do you think you would get? How about a renegade xrs?
Honestly the assault is a nice sled however last year I did mostly trail riding and this year I’ve already racked up 2000 miles of trail riding between a few sleds... so yes I am kind of glad I did not buy the assault. When I buy another new sled I’m thinking exactly what you said either a ski doo Xrs or a Polaris XCR.. we will see
The 650 is supposed to be around 130/135 hp and the 800 is around 155 hp from what I’ve been told. The 650 is a lot tamer than the old 800 but will still get right up and go.
Nice review overall. But the Assault doesn't have a narrow front end unless you changed the A-arms on it. They are non adjustable 42.5" stance.
Yes sorry about that, my mistake!

@@BigHouse907 , I agree very other Manf. has adjustable skis.... not getting this ...

Thanks for the info

I’m not sure, I’m guessing it was on a stiffer setting.
You could try backing off preload on the shocks to soften it up
Good review thx.

@@rockspowersports i dont have alot of trails right by my house i have to ride the ditches to get to them and i ride in my unplowed field
@@Snowmobilesfolife123 For that kind of riding the assault would work great for you!
What bag is that on the back?
Narrow front end? Has the same IFS race front end as the widest trails sleds….
Yes my mistake.
Your mic was being messed up for a bit there
Ya my camera was giving up on me at the end of last season. I had to buy a new one..

so is this 650 close to the 800 found in the 2020 sleds

You ever hold it to the bar?
Yes only for a matter of seconds though I didn’t get it over 85ish
Can you lift the Skis with the 650?
Yes it lifts the skis no problem
