I have bad news for you, even if you master Russian to perfection, you won't understand about half of what she says. I've been exposed to Russian since I was a kid, I learned it in school, but sometimes I have absolutely no idea where one word ended and another word started. 😅

I know that a protagonist denser than a collapsed star is one of the classic tropes of the genre, but I don't think Russian is so common in Japan that you wouldn't realize that the girl from your childhood is probably one of the children of the only Russian man in your entire prefecture....
