Wow looks great. I was thinking that we should go to Norway as well as I am 4-5h away from the border, but I will end up in Trondheim and we shall see from there 🦌🌲😉
@@alfredbrook I would LOVE to go to NZ! But it's a bit far off so I need a lot of vacation time for a trip like that. One of these days I'll make it over there though, for sure ^_^
Well not right now at least when the ferries are broken and I couldn't get back ;D And straight line? That's like... Half across water! I guess I could kayak that bit though... Hmm...
@@tumarfa Haha, that's what I meant. First I need to get to Gotland with the ferry. And then, if I were to go in a straight line between the northern point to the southern, it'd cross a large bay - since Fårö and lots of stuff is sticking out to the north east.
@@ThreeStarVagabondThat would be an overly ambitious line to travel by. You could just do east-west, shortest length like others have done in other countries. You could even have a porter to carry your stuff, but I'm not sure if that would be considered cheating. But at least in Sweden you shouldn't be chased by angry farmers when crossing their land, as happens in Wales and Scotland, so the lowered stress level could make it a more leisurely stroll.
@@tumarfa Oooh I see! It doesn't have to be the longest line... Haha, it does sound like a fun experience. I have been curious about doing a long hike. But then, it's always a question of what to spend my vacation time on :/
That must have been an enjoyable trip, and good to be able to share the driving. I guess people like making fun of their neighbours, Brits used to make similar jokes about the Irish until it became politically incorrect, the Dutch and French joke about the dumb Belgians (poor Belgians who get it from both sides), Germans about Poles. Let's see, who have I missed, do those potato-eating Danes get let off the hook? I digress.... lol. You're lucky Norges Rikspoliti weren't waiting for you on the summit of Galdhøpiggen, I guess they're all laughing into their crates of cheap Systembolaget alcohol and duty-free godis.
Weell, it was mostly enjoyable but my legs were absolutely killing me on the way down :D I really hated that part! But yeah I think it makes sense for everyone to joke about their neighbours. It's all in good fun after all - at least these days. But speaking of the Danish, did you know that Sweden and Denmark have the record of number of wars with each other? So there might be a bit more bite in the jokes between those two countries :D
@@ThreeStarVagabond Those marauding Vikings were quite vicious in Britain back in the day. Did they come from present-day Sweden, Denmark or Norway? I'm glad our relations with Scandinavia have improved since.
@@DikWhite That's really hard to say since nothing today looks like it did back then. I think it was mostly Danes....but Denmark consisted of more territory back then. Happy that things are better all over nothern Europe these days!

Really nice video of turen til Galdhøgpiggen, You should do more of nature stuff like this. Du må reise hele kystlinjen i fra Kristiansand til Lofoten ;) Just saying !
Thank you! :D Will try to do it when I can... I'd love to visit Lofoten! And Trolltunga. And that coastal road north of Trondheim! So many places to visit...
and best thing is that you can travel with public transport all way, a mix between buss/train/Ferry and hey, bring your bike, we in Norway welcome bikes on public transport @@ThreeStarVagabond
Wow what an adventure, the climb in spots looked quite steep and slippery with the snow. I would call the 6 1/2 hour climb a conserving energy one, you enjoyed the sights unlike the rest of them 😂. I’m glad you reclaimed Swedens rightful ownership of the mountain and no one can take that away from you. I love camping, as primitive as it may be so I’d give you a 2 star vagabond not a zero. Stay safe till next time
It actually was really steep, and very hard to go uphill in the snow. Well, on the rocks as well for that matter :D I really needed to conserve my energy 'cause I was just going on fumes on the way back. Completely exhausted! The camping was extremely nice, and I'm so happy we beat that darn mountain :D Cheers!

Trondheim also sounds like an awesome destination in Norway! I think I need to go there someday as well to see more of the country 😀
You should consider hiking Denmarks highest "mountain". It would make a great clip.
Dude, that's an amazing idea! I could make it into an epic road trip movie to Denmark, and then....just walk up that hill. "There, that's it." :D

Oh no, my plan failed! I just wanted you guys to take Sweden in retribution :D
Don't forget Norway was invaded by Germany in WW2. You might want to re-think your wording?
When will you attempt a straight line mission across Gotland? :)
