Trying to restore a Nexus 7 2013 which sticks on the Google screen. I have downloaded and unzipped everything as per the instructions on both videos but having brought up the command box in my folder and entered "flash-all.bat" all I get is " . Can you help me?
Andrew Osmond Not sure if you still need help but is usb debugging on and does your computer detect the Nexus. Use the command "adb devices" and you should get a number on the command prompt window.
+everadept I am having the same problem as Andrew. I cannot get past the Google screen. Using 'adb devices' my device is not listed while in boot loader mode. There is no way for me to enable USB debugging using the OS. Any ideas?
+CommonCentsRob It has been a while since I have tried this. I remember running into this issue a few times just no longer how to fix it. Try reinstalling the driver for the device(delete driver on computer and re insert device). Try revoking usb debugging authorization also. Also try going to this guys website and emailing him for help. Sorry if none of this works.
everadept Thanks so much for the response. I'm a techy but I know zero about phones. I've already tried uninstalling the driver and installing the original drivers. I don't know how to revoke usb debugging though. I have both toolkits for phone also but neither works.

This video is awesome. I had to stop myself a few times because I realized I was trying to go along with you at the same time playing the video and I was able to catch myself missing a step or so. I downloaded all of the files did the extractions and deleted when the video prompted and paused in between steps and this tutorial worked flawlessly. I suggest others do the same. I made the mistake of running the CM installer because I wanted the ability to hide apps from the app drawer and mess around with the CPU governors with CM 11. What I got was a basic vanilla cyanogenmod that actually seems to have less options than the stock google rom. I will not be using CM anytime soon until there are less glitches in it. Great vid.
I bought a refurb Nexus 7 gen 1 a week or so ago that only had 4.1.1 grouper(WiFi) on it(no Google os). After trying to install several factory ROMs I found that in my case the correct factory image is the nakasi. Works perfectly now. Thanks for the vid
Sakitech, I wanted to say thank you for this great vid! I had just gotten my Nexus 7 back from repair and while it was a first gen they had to replace the motherboard and I believe it got the revised motherboard installed. I had done a system update (as I have done before) and it froze on the boot screen. Thankfully with this vid and the adb drivers I found I was able to unlock my bootloader and restore my tablet! Thanks again for the great vid, my daughter will be excited to have "her" tablet back!

Awesome video. The sdk link now takes you to Android Studio but this includes the sdk. Just download the studio and install it. It will show two install directories, one for the Studio and one for the SDK (which you can change if you need to). Make a note of the install directory for the sdk. Once the install is complete you can browse to this directory which will have two folders, sdk and sdk1. Go into the sdk folder and there you will see the platform-tools directory mentioned in the video.

I replaced the charging board on my Nexus 7 2013 tablet because of a loose USB connector. The replacement board was the same 1.4 version, but now I have dead spots on the display. I reinstalled the old board and the touchscreen is fine. From my internet research it sounds like I need to perform a recalibration. Will flashing the tablet with a factory image do that? Otherwise, do you have any other suggestions?
I own the Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi. I get as far as unzipping the .tar file, however, the .tar file does not unzip into what you have shown, only an unusable "File" that when clicked, I am asked what program should be used to open the "File". Any suggestions? I have tried all 6 factory images available (on the official Google download page you provided) for the "razor" for Nexus 7 [2013] (Wi-Fi) with all .tar files being unzipped into a single "File" type. I have used 7-zip and Total Commander, each with the same result. Thanks for any help.
My attempt went perfectly until the first couple of operations from the command line prompt started, Writing bootloader was okay, then rebooting into bootloader was okay, sending radio was okay and then after the rebooting into bootloader and getting okay followed by waiting for device, I got a window on the computer which read, "fastboot.exe has stopped working" followed by the typical Windows comment that a problem has caused the program to stop working and Windows will close it and notify me if a solution to the problem is found. Just to make sure it wasn't a one time fluke, I went back to square one, redownloaded the files and followed the entire proceedure again to make sure I hadn't done something and I got the same exact result. I feel this was misleading if yur device is bricked how can you enable bootloader unlock or oem unlock I bought one with the wrong rom on it no wifi stuck at welcome screen and this was no help any ideas I would be super thankful I can’t skip the wifi step at all it sucks 😂 iv been at it for a month trying to save it 😂

what was the extension on chrome at the top right corner? is that a remote tool?
If you get < Waiting For Device > Make sure you get the drivers at
developer.android.com/sdk/win-usb.html
