This video is awesome. I had to stop myself a few times because I realized I was trying to go along with you at the same time playing the video and I was able to catch myself missing a step or so. I downloaded all of the files did the extractions and deleted when the video prompted and paused in between steps and this tutorial worked flawlessly. I suggest others do the same. I made the mistake of running the CM installer because I wanted the ability to hide apps from the app drawer and mess around with the CPU governors with CM 11. What I got was a basic vanilla cyanogenmod that actually seems to have less options than the stock google rom. I will not be using CM anytime soon until there are less glitches in it. Great vid.

Sakitech, I wanted to say thank you for this great vid! I had just gotten my Nexus 7 back from repair and while it was a first gen they had to replace the motherboard and I believe it got the revised motherboard installed. I had done a system update (as I have done before) and it froze on the boot screen. Thankfully with this vid and the adb drivers I found I was able to unlock my bootloader and restore my tablet! Thanks again for the great vid, my daughter will be excited to have "her" tablet back!

I bought a refurb Nexus 7 gen 1 a week or so ago that only had 4.1.1 grouper(WiFi) on it(no Google os). After trying to install several factory ROMs I found that in my case the correct factory image is the nakasi. Works perfectly now. Thanks for the vid

Thanks a MILLION. I was able to reset mine to 5.1.1 after purchasing a used tablet with a weird Android version "L" it was pretty bad. Tablet is looking good now.

Please note some of the links are updated with new software, which will not take you to download pages shown in this video. One may have to download the SDK TOOLS from else where. But the road map is perfect. With a little ingenuity, one could revive a bricked Nexus. Thanks again.

Did this using Nexus 7 WiFi 2013 with Android L developer preview on, wanted to get rid of that because it was stopping me receiving Android Lollipop OTA (So I've read) and did this with no problems with your instructions. Awesome video. The sdk link now takes you to Android Studio but this includes the sdk. Just download the studio and install it. It will show two install directories, one for the Studio and one for the SDK (which you can change if you need to). Make a note of the install directory for the sdk. Once the install is complete you can browse to this directory which will have two folders, sdk and sdk1. Go into the sdk folder and there you will see the platform-tools directory mentioned in the video.
I replaced the charging board on my Nexus 7 2013 tablet because of a loose USB connector. The replacement board was the same 1.4 version, but now I have dead spots on the display. I reinstalled the old board and the touchscreen is fine. From my internet research it sounds like I need to perform a recalibration. Will flashing the tablet with a factory image do that? Otherwise, do you have any other suggestions?

Could you help? I rooted my Nexus 7 and when I put the SuperSU folder on and restarsted it so it'd go onto the Team Win Recovery menu it wasn't there on the 'install', so I don't have an OS so it wont load till' I correctly put the ZIP on my Nexus 7. Thing is, my nexus wont detect on my PC until its on the start menu. Does this mean I'll have to use an OTG cable and out the folder on my USB then connect it to my OTG cable instead? Then hopefully it'll be on 'OTG'. Where I can then install it, correct?

I own the Nexus 7 2013 Wi-Fi. I get as far as unzipping the .tar file, however, the .tar file does not unzip into what you have shown, only an unusable "File" that when clicked, I am asked what program should be used to open the "File". Any suggestions? I have tried all 6 factory images available (on the official Google download page you provided) for the "razor" for Nexus 7 [2013] (Wi-Fi) with all .tar files being unzipped into a single "File" type. I have used 7-zip and Total Commander, each with the same result. Thanks for any help.

Nvrmind it finally booted up. I've done tons of custom Roms and I've never had a boot take that long. Awesome so happy to be back stock and enjoying unadulterated lollipop :) thanks!
My attempt went perfectly until the first couple of operations from the command line prompt started, Writing bootloader was okay, then rebooting into bootloader was okay, sending radio was okay and then after the rebooting into bootloader and getting okay followed by waiting for device, I got a window on the computer which read, "fastboot.exe has stopped working" followed by the typical Windows comment that a problem has caused the program to stop working and Windows will close it and notify me if a solution to the problem is found.
Just to make sure it wasn't a one time fluke, I went back to square one, redownloaded the files and followed the entire proceedure again to make sure I hadn't done something and I got the same exact result.
Is there some other way to make this work?

Sir can you tell me how to unlock bootloader because i got that proble when following your steps it says Bootloader is locked. but the thing is i cant do any debugging on my tablet because its bricked
what was the extension on chrome at the top right corner? is that a remote tool?
can u unlock ur bootloader that way so i dont need to flash aroot to do this? im trying to just install another factory image this way but my bootloader is relocked

This doesn't work on my bricked nexus 7. At first it was stuck on the then I updated the drivers, but it still wouldn't get pass the command prompt, I got error saying Failed then archive does not contain 'boot.sig', 'recovery.sig' & 'system.sig' also checking product failed. Can someone help me?
Can you help me to find bootloader version flo-03.15 flash file? It's nowhere to be find. Doing your tutorial without knowing bootloader version cost me a bricked nexus 7

Trying to restore a Nexus 7 2013 which sticks on the Google screen. I have downloaded and unzipped everything as per the instructions on both this video and the one showing the new Android SDK tools but having brought up the command box in my folder and entered "flash-all.bat" all I get is " . Can anyone help me?

So I've used your video several times now. For some reason every month or so her tablet locks up. The last time it locked up my computer no longer recognized the device when I plugged it in. Does anyone know if this still works, as I think google have changed what is at thous URL's so IU can't seem to download the same things as in the video, you get android studio not tools so I chose the platform tools within that (it says thy are installed) but there's no matching folder, no flash-all.bat to adb,exe etc

Thanks for the video! I tried to update a rooted and unlocked tablet and I could not get past the boot screen or get into recovery mode. I was not only able to boot into my tablet, but I was able to update my tablet to 5.1.1. without any problem!
Hi I have a Nexus 7 Wifi.... as you might know Android Lollipop is coming on November 3, 2014 to our device... i am currently running a custom rom... do i need to revert back to stock rom 4.4.4 kitkat to get the OTA update for android 5.0? Also if so.... do I need to lock the bootloader to get the OTA?
Is it possible to just flash the android 5.0 lollipop stock rom...? Instead of reverting back to android 4.4.4 then getting the OTA update?

There are two types,one for WIFI and one for LTE.
i have android 7.1.2 and is not working downgrading to 4.3
