I've been saying this. The quiet part is that climate activists literally don't care about how their policies will hurt people, economies, or the like. In 2021 I was working with a group of students just prior to them attending the COP26. No matter what stats, info, guidance, studies etc. I discussed and provided, they were fully committed to attending for the full and immediate cessation of all oil and gas usage across Europe and eventually the globe. They didn’t care one iota the cost, the ramification on health and deaths, the loss of so many products including the ability to produce the plastics etc to house their green energy plans.
They spat at nuclear as being the worst of the worst whilst ignoring the worlds inability to procure the resources for their plans without causing untold ecological destruction on a global scale, whilst ignoring the looming green consequences that will come up in around 10 years when they need to remove and clean up the lithium battery runoff etc.

If a surplus of fossil fuels did not financially benefit Americans 3-4 years ago, explain why the cost to heat/cool my home and fill my tank cost me at least 1/2 as much then as it does today due to the countries current supply deficiencies. Oh, supply & demand you say. Shocking how that works. I fully support Byron on this matter.

EVs will never be as efficient when you factor in what it takes to mine for the material necessary for batteries and who actually owns the resources. The only way it would be remotely possible to efficiently charge EVs is if nuclear power was on the table.

He just keeps repeating the erroneous talking points of the people who believe that we can do away with fossil fuels in 10 years. Never going to happen. And, the current batteries aren't remotely close to the answer.

Dude literally said "batteries" as part of dealing with a lack of energy supply GENERATION.
Not only does batteries do NOTHING for that specific factor, the resources involved in their creation are also heavily reliant on fossil fuel expenditure to obtain.
Add in factors like unreliability in most green energy sources i.e. sun doesn't break through the clouds, wind doesn't blow, etc. and green energy becomes a borderline pure political matter as opposed to practical.
Finally considering he kept calling it a "global market" to deflect from the fact we were a net exporter literally one president ago, along with the flagrant lie that subsidized green energy is less expensive per unit of energy than fossil fuels, and the witness comes off as blatantly dishonest and downright slimy in his mental gymnastics.
Byron is a very impressive individual. He laser focuses on the key industry levers affecting cost and does not allow the witness to deflect.

He was wrong though 😂. We were never energy independant. He mentioned exporting out...we NEVER stopped importing it at the same time. We just pimped some of our costs back out to others. Like when a store gets an item in, then sells to a customer...they were dependant on the manufacturer, but still then sold to others. I dont think a lot of Americans understand our oil dealings...clearly not Byron either. If we STILL imported it, that classifies as NOT dependant

The guy earning min wage, driving a beater to work 6 days a week so he can pay bills, needs that car to run and cannot afford to pay 2-3x more to fuel it than he did five years ago. The cost of the GND is not just the federal gov spending trillions of tax dollars, but it is the tens of thousands of jobs lost and people made homeless because they were unable to get themselves to and from work anymore , or couldn't afford a new cell phone because the price of the oil used to make them ran too high. Understand that energy cost affects the cost of everything else, from growing food to manufacturing goods to transporting both of them. The advocates for the GND forget just how much of daily life is reliant on oil. Products we all, including liberals, use every day, rely on oil. Some of these items are lotions, make-up, deodorant, shaving cream, shampoo, textiles, dishes, cups, dentures, headphones, televisions, cameras, cell phones, contact lenses - the list goes on and on. Electric cars may run on electricity, but they are literally made using oil. Talking heads like AOC like to ramble on about things in which they know nothing about. They are simply loud, annoying, ignorant morons who would love to see the US fall deeper and deeper into despair. People like her mock the people she was stupidly elected to represent while they chant her name from the streets they now live on.
I pray and hope that this gem won't get compromised in any way. DC has a way of doing that. That brilliance, and no-nonsense approach. Much respect!
