Considering Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson died on the same day, this one tabloid magazine I read in early June 2009 is harsher in hindsight. There was an article about how Farrah was dying of cancer, and near the end of the magazine, there was a "Fashion Blunders" segment, which included a picture Michael Jackson and his questionable outfit at the time (all I remember is it included a covid-like mask, and this was long before covid was a thing). Also, there was a promotional about "Time Remembers the 1970s", to be released in July, which included 1970's photos of both Farrah and Michael on the cover.

Farrah Fawcett did a Noxema Shave cream spot with Joe Namath in the early 1970's. Exotic beauty, and yeah, I had the poster in my barracks when in the U.S. Air Force.

I was lucky enough to see Peter, Paul and Mary in concert in Warwick, RI many years ago. Her voice was so powerful that she had to tone it down in order to harmony with Peter and Paul. Also, during the concert, she showed poster sized pictures of her grandkids.

James Whitmore had 3 guest roles on Gunsmoke. 4 on The Big Valley. 4 on The Virginian. 5 on Zane Grey. 2 on Rawhide and 1 on Bonanza which that was a real gruesome episode where he seeks revenge against Ben Cartwright and Candy for doing prison time and leaves the 2 of them in deep hole in a cave episode "To Die in Darkness."
Karl Malden was best known as Lt. Stone on The Streets of San Francisco as tough by the book cop.

I am so glad I revisited this list from 2009. First of all, Well done!. We lost a LOT of talent and notoriety this year. Thank you for including Millvina Dean. I had forgotten. And Respect to Walter Cronkite, probably one of the last truly respected journalists in American history.

Joseph Wiseman always regretted that he thought his role (Dr. No) was going to be just another caricature of a "Fu Manchu" type, so it was just another job to him. He was astonished at just how immortal it made him, but he actually said that he wanted to be known for his theatrical work rather than his role as Dr.No.

A great, big shoutout goes to character-actors. They may not be on-screen for much in the movie, but they always make the movie special, something that becomes a part of us. Ever wonder what happened to those nameless actors we see in favorite movies like Harvey, His Gal Friday, It’s a Wonderful Life, Topper 1-3, Bringing Up Baby, Casablanca & The Maltese Falcon? Well, they died! But their screen presence never will (until Global Climate Collapse hits us full-on and we have to zero-in on the essentials).
