I tied my dyneema to my spear with a figure 8 follow - through knot, maybe you could tried that knot on a load test. Love all your products, thanks👍

would love to see a video on preventing shaft rust and if shark fin shafts will damage a conventional double rubber open muzzle. cheers!!!

Yes, will look into doing a shoot on spear coatings. For the majority, fin spears seem fine in our closed muzzle.

..i would love to see a load test on your bungees. So far i would use neptonics or riffe full stretch bungees to be on the safe side. Not sure if your bungees can keep up with those. Talking about the use for big and very big tunas (100-400kg) . Run a test on your Latex bungee with 270kg 3x-stretch , and on your
Bluewater floatline bungee with 180kg 1.5x-stretch. The ends connected to a shackle. Very intresting to see the real breaking strength and where it would snap..

The strength is not in the bungee material but in the Dyneema core. We use a Dyneema that is rated at 180kg. Basically the same amount of fiber that is in our Dyneema shooting lime but in a softer braid. This increases the knot strength. We are getting 125 to 145 kg break strain on the spear line, the bungee line should be the same or greater. In reality, the spear line will break before the bungee. I will do a break test on a small gun bungee sometime, as it has the same inner Dyneema core as our bungee blue water float lines. On a side note, we don't use latex rubber for these as the stretch/spring back requirements are not the same as a spear gun rubber. We use a TPE for the gun bungee and a TPU for the blue water float line.

..on your website it says that the bluewater floatline bungee has a breaking strain from well over 400kg. How did you got that info ? I would like to see that whole original bungee with a shackle attached to each side and pulled until it break. Most intresting to see when and where it will break. I guess not easy to arrange but that would be a true performance test.

@@Euro0815 I will do a test sometime. I think the person who wrote that just added the Dyneema break strain rating, 380kg plus 25 kg for the tube. Thanks for bringing it to my tension. The knot inside will reduce the Dyneema break strain by at least 30%

I just got my 90cm tuna and I love it so far! I was wondering though if you haven't changed your mind about doing a giveaway?😉

Is the conclusion of this video that the knot in your “tying dyneema to shaft” is the strongest way to attach? It looked like the granny knot with crimp held its own but you said it was less streamlined. Thanks for the tests.

Yes, it is fine but will create more drag and slow the spear down but as you see, works fine.

Should I be crimping (with hand crimping tool) monofilament in 3 places? I saw somewhere they explicitly said to only crimp on each end.

It will depend on how long the crimp is. Many are so short that you can only crimp twice. Our crimps are long enough that 3 crimped points are possible with a small gap in-between. Don't crimp too close to the edge because it will cut into the mono line.

A KNOT ALWAYS IS MORE RESISTANT THAN A CRIMP.
