When it would be 50 years old it will not gain any more value. I also found an Ibanez LP copy from the 70's in a store that goes for the same price. If it's not a Gibson Les Paul or a Fender Strat or Tele then it doesn't matter the year...
First, you have to have a tree. It takes centuries to make a trunk with the grain structure you want for a decent body and neck. An American UA-camr with a guitar topic-channel once said his guess for why guitars made of amercian wood might be such high quality was that many of those trees grow in very harsh conditions, slowly and always battling the elements, which just makes their wood tougher. Then you have to take down the tree in a way that saves the wood. People are to get payed for doing it. Next you have to take the tree to a place that will cut it to boards that have the year rings standing nicely for the bodies and the year rings in the neck lying. Then you need a place where you can put the wood to dry. There's no real alternative to storing the wood for several years. Chamber drying only has a superficial drying effect and you always risk cooking the wood cells, by which you ruin the endurance and some of the wood's strength. Then comes the making. A good neck joint and a bad neck joint are a tenth of a millimeter appart. The tolerances in the fretboard are tiny. A well playing low string heigth and a buzzing axe you will have to battle with are only another hair's width apart. No mate, I beg to differ. A decent guitar takes so much in its making. Every step in the process adds to the cost, everyone involved deserves his share. When you get the top notch quality of all of these steps, they are worth their pennies. Custom shop planks are a different piece of cake, but the Les Paul Standards, the American Strats, ESP-LTD top of the range, Ibanez, Schechter, you name them, that are in the 1½-grand league perfectly are worth every cent. It's a real bummer I am so far away from being able to afford those beauties.

2:50 or you could get a true custom made instrument from your local Luthier.
If I had 57.500 euros it would be mine!
You can't mimic animal glue which almost looks like glass when aged, just looking inside the pick up cavities will tell you instantly if its a true vintage or Relic.
Poor Chapper..... unlike Captain Anderton he can not have the opportunity to try the 'Beast'.
Actually Keith Richards has an actual Guitar Butler, a real person handing him guitars, taking care of them and throwing talcum on his hand, when he just hold it out O_O
Chapers 76 decibel laugh!
No Maybach?
Everytime i see an old guitar like that i think... damn that sounds like crap, we've come a long way.
Glad to see the guy from 'Father Ted' is working again.
Cool vid guys move vid, please
HE OWNS (4) himself! THAT Speaks for itself! 57,000 euros compare that to your China Dolls boys!
why did i think of Dan and Mick.........
Play clean through a fenderamp please.
Did Rob think he was going to be gifted a Guitar 😂😂😂😂😂 Awkward 🙈
60 Les Paul......plays ZZ Top. !!!!!!
You can say whatever you want, but a valve amplifier sounds better.
generalisation which is so not true. enough valve amps out there that are utter crappy bollocks
How can you say beast after everything that was said? And I owe a Gibson.
RIP Gibson quality control
Treason
Seriously the 2019 Custom killed that 1960 PAFs big time. I know they might not be comparable very much, but the oldie is just too muddy and dead already ... maybe its just my ears. The modjo of the 1960 on the other hand, is unbeatable!
first one plastic sounds so plastic èòastic plastic
Second one make sense
You sounded better on the newer one
That`s vintage, not `81.
You're right! Generally vintage is considered when it's 25 years old or more...
@@gkol69 81was 38 years b4. but vintage guitars r til the `60ies. Old and vintage is different.
@@gkol69 I thought 50 years is considered vintage for guitars.
@@raytorvalds3699 It's 25 but no one cares about an 80's Ibanez or Kramer so the prices are low. I have an 1987 Ibanez Roadstar that goes for less than a 1,000 euros on e-bay. When it would be 50 years old it will not gain any more value. I also found an Ibanez LP copy from the 70's in a store that goes for the same price. If it's not a Gibson Les Paul or a Fender Strat or Tele then it doesn't matter the year...
@@gkol69 Another thing learned then. Thank you for your reply. Cheers.
ML-1 Pro Modern still better
He is right about what you are paying for a gibson but even chapman guitars are overpriced
The real gibson sounded great.
It’s funny that the actual Les Paul isn’t in tune 😂😂😂😂😂
