Switched to Dava control picks recently. Absolutely my favorite. Used Dunlop Max grip for years. Never going back.

I've used the Dava picks (plectrums) for a few months. I do like them but they wear really fast (I play a lot). I've had to replace the one on my main guitar twice already. The ones I used before never Never wore (Dunlop nylon) but I'd say the Dava sounds and feel better. I've just ordered some Dunlop primetime 1.3s to try.

I finally ditched the plastic and composite and went organic (metal.) Found a small custom maker "Zenfire" and I haven't used anything else since. These things are incredible.

I tried a lot and always return to Dunlop Tortex .73. On acoustic I use Dunlop Nylon .60 or .73. I can't play with big stiff picks.

My first plectrum was a purple Dunlop Big Stubby that I found on the ground, in the parking lot outside the local guitar shop. At the time, I was still a drummer, but I picked up that plectrum, and I kept it. When I did start playing guitar, well, I do have this Big Stubby, so that is what I used for a few months. Then, someone gave me a few of those shark fin plectrums. I am all about weird and oddball stuff, so I instantly fell in love. Even today, I STILL use shark fins.
(On a side note, I still have that purple Dunlop Big Stubby.)

One time (years back) in a Hard Rock Cafee I picked up a novelty set of picks with a logo and everything just for laughs...I swear those are some of the best picks I played. They are all the same medium light gauge and hold up great. I have no clue as to who is making them and from what material but they are great...

Lol, been using Dunlop's 3.0mm Big Stubby, altho I'm going to try a similar style pick from Gravity. 😊 A custom shop Razor (3mm, Big Mini, fluorescent green, with a round hole). 😉 Getting tired of having to replace the Stubby every few months due to wear on the edge...😡

Fender medium celluloid for electric, Fender thins for acoustic. I used to use much heavier picks (the light purple Tortex ones), but I also used to hold them with two fingers and my thumb for more control.

I hate picks that flex/bend. If you're OCD, trying to find the perfect pick that gives you the best sound, but which also glides from string to string, but which is also pointy enough to facilitate extremely fast trill picking will drive you insane. Anyway... I'd say the hotel key card sounded the best. lol

Johnny Hiland uses Dava's. I've been meaning to get some for ages. They look good & I've heard folks say they are boss. I once got given a red Jim Dunlop pick from Jesse Pintado of Terrorizer & Napalm Death & it was soft & thin as fuck! This shocked me as most thrash death metal grindcore guys use solid picks right? Weird. Sadly Jesse is no longer with us but his music will live on. R.I.P. Jesse lad. RIP it the fuck up!

You are missing the point of the Dava pick's design.
It realy has 3 zones ( indicated by the the 3 strips in the middle on the rubber) which allows you to have a light medium and thick pick in one.
Zo gripping it more to the tip gives you no flex like a heavy pick, grip it in the middle gives you flex compared to a medium pick and more away from the middle it flexes like a light pick. The rubber gives you a great grip also.
