Thank you for visiting the Choicemas "STOP THE CLOCK" Channel. I create content with hopes to inspire, motivate, educate, empower, and help others. A majority of my videos are Educational videos teaching the ins and outs of Safety and Securement, as well as the excitement of driving a 18 Wheeler Semi-Truck throughout the country. In addition, I have some inspirational, motivational commentary that I feel can help others. Recently I've opened up my page to Vlogs and Roadtrips with my wife and I that carry some humor and interest. I hope you can find videos you like, and if you do... give us a thumbs up and hit the subscribe button, as we sincerely appreciate the support and the amazing feedback we've received throughout the years. I started this channel knowing nothing at all and have come a very long way, and the journey has all been worth it. Many thanks to you all, God bless. -Choicemas
I'm looking to move to the USA from Sweden. I've done trucking here but have to get my american CDL before driving over there. I am considering going for flatbed trucking. Watching your videos I can see some large difference between EU and USA. We rarely if ever tarp, I've never done it, rarely see anyone that does. We use a different strap system also, so I have plenty to learn and study before getting to work in the USA. Thank you for your videos, they are very helpful.
These videos are so precise and such attention to detail, best channel for Flatbed Trucking by far , no other UA-camr does it like you 💪🏾
Truly appreciate the love! Stay fresh brother all the time. 🔥💯🙏🏼
Just started flat bed a week ago. I can tell you take pride in your work. Thank you for this it will help me level up 💪
Thank you brother. Appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. 💯🙏🏼
Much respect to you flatbed guys
yes i am starting Flatbed in two weeks
🫡
I find this soothing to say that I start my first tarping job Monday in Georgia coming from Chicago. I have a lot of common sense and if this is what it’s all about then nothing is too much to make sure any and all loads are secured! Thanks man!
That is awesome!
Excellent job. I agree, there is no such thing as an over-secure load. Stay safe and continue doing what you're doing.
Thanks A lot MB I appreciate that, and thanks for watching!!
Bit overboard using straps im truck driver i carry bigger loads than that using half of straps what the fuck you on hour rate
Oh hey!! You're one of those "super truckers" I keep hearing about!! Awesome!! Now I see why every one hates them!
I’ve been known to over secure a load anyway better to over secure than under
This is the kind of dude I hope to come across in my future with trucking. Only got my cdl a couple months ago and looking to get into flat beds. Not sure why I want to, but watching your video makes me like it even more. Thanks for posting and keeping everyone and yourself safe!👍
I'm getting into flat bedding with the company I've been with and I definitely picked up a few tricks watching you. Thank you putting this video out there
🔥
40 years flatbedding. Retired 8 years ago. Never seen a tarp machine like that. Slick.
Respect to you!
Nice to see a UA-cam video of load securement and tarping by someone that actually knows what he is doing.
Thanks, I appreciate that!
Choice M.A.S. - Question: Running the bungies around the outside of the rail rather than completely through them, is that a preference thing or how you were trained?
I rather do flatbed than unloading groceries and be counting boxes and pushing milk crates. Great video man 👍🏼
For us new ppl who want to get into Flat bedding. This video was Very instructional. I can go into a company with confidence as to how to tie down. Keep them coming..... Again. Thank You.
Just subscribed! The best flatbed cargo securement videos I’ve seen yet. All business, no fluff, yet entertaining and enlightening. I have a feeling you would be a great mentor.
I got to say it's nice to see someone take pride in their work these days and I too agree there's no such thing as over securing a load.My theory is if god forbid the truck goes over I want that load to stay put.In all the years I've done towing I've seen WAY too many loads shift big time ;-)
+SouthJerseySound hey Jersey I appreciate that. I have some more of these coming soon. I had to teach myself as well, as they sent me out with a curtainsider for training. It's been quite a journey, and I love learning more and more as I go. Thanks for the comment, thanks for watching!
I've had a small load detach before (just a 16ft brush trailer), no injuries or problems thank God, but it all happened because I listened to my boss......needless to say lesson learned and I refuse to haul anything if I don't feel it's done right and safe. I never want to live through that ever again.
@@Twisted86 I've seen that happen too many times. The worst part is that when shit goes wrong the person who was like that's good enough turned around and tossed the guys under the bus to save their own ass.
Yeah. My boss just did that to me for inspections out of date on my reefer trailer. I complained to HR and he got my ass canned!!!
I secure my loads as if loved ones are driving around me.
You have to, there’s no other way but the wrong way. Thanks for watching
I go to orientation on monday for flatbed, coming from the food service side. I'm definitely going to be studying your videos! Gotta make sure my securement and tarp game is on point! Appreciate your time and putting out this content bro!
Yea nice job I love pulling flatbed. Been doing it for 19 years. But one the thing I learned. Less bungees. Is the way the to go
AYE CHOICE! AYE YO CHOICE! ITS YA BOY MAN. ITS ME BIG TIME MEN. WYA IVE BEEN WAITEN OUT HERE BRO. hope everything good big homie ain't heard from you in a while. just waven a hand. ALL THE TIME
Man, you have no clue how much this helped me bro. In two weeks I’m getting my CDL’s and I’ll be pulling flatbeds.
Des, I appreciate you bro. It’s not rocket science. I alway tell the newcomers… don’t over think it and I’m time, you WILL lock down you methodologies. After that it’s work, but it’s a cakewalk.
LEGIT! Dope Music
Thank you brother. Appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment. God bless.
Good job driver back in the day we didn’t have these fancy tarping machines technology is nice
General Lee yeah I bet you guys didn’t. I respect the old timers and the things they dealt with in their day. #RESPECT
This guy is one bad ass! This kind of work is not easy, I hope you get your shoulders together buddy
Hey Cissy, I appreciate you brother. Right side Shoulder replacement in January 2024. Either getting the left shoulder scoped at the same time or will be getting it scoped the following January (2025).
Securing loads different for everyone but love the ideas. I go long folds to not bunch up the winch and add as a possible edge protecter on short height loads everybody got they're methods as long it's legal. Double belly strap a good look 👌
This my early years when I was teaching myself how to flatbed. I could find and point out some things I’d do different today for sure. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. Stay fresh.
I'm new at it and I've never seen a tarping station that puts the tarps on the load for you! I'm jealous!!
Great precision on strapping
Just ran across ya video and I've got you locked in on my subscription list. Good job and hell no you can never have to much load securement! 👍
+MrBigR 504 good lookin out! I appreciate the sub and leaving the positive comment. More to come for sure. Thanks again!!
Little tip. Get some wool blankets. I use them just for loads like these. It help 100% to keep the pipe from tearing up the tarps. Actually I use them on every steel load that requires tarps.
Then put the on front rear and then bungee tarp over.
Thank you for taking your time and making this video. It looks like you're really good at what you're doing and I learned few things. I'm starting my first day tomorrow as a flatbed driver, so I have no idea how all this stuff works, but this should help!
Absorb as much as you can from everything you can. Not only in flatbed but in LIFE! Peace bro. Keep me posted and any question or suggestions for videos you’d like to see let me know.
@@choicemas yea thanks for the live demonstration for the straps. Really helped me with my first load. Straps were really tight and I didnt have to tight them that often. Tomorrow I'm getting 2 loads that needs tarping... I'm so clueless with tarping....
Great vid. Reminds me of back in the days when we used ropes to secure the tarps
Good to see the Bro still doing his thing yes sir respect 💯 and keep it going looks like the master has arrived continue to teach ,strive for perfection knowledge knowledge
Primoo. Peace and all blessings my brother. Good to know you still in good form. 🙏
@@choicemas thinking about getting my hands on the flatbed thing bro I know who to holla at with any questions and concerns thanks beloved and keep building
Mush respect bro, I’m learning a lot from you. Keep doing what you do and safe travels. Bless up 🆙
Appreciate the Love. I stay low and pop up time to time. Thanks for watching and commenting. Makes all the difference. 🙏🏼💯
... slick tarping system , I was never lucky enough to see one of these
Nice load securement. The better your tarp job looks, when it is required, the less trouble the DOT guys seem to give you.
You're good brotha, I am most definitely going to steal some of your techniques.
Hell, if ain’t stole some from others I’m a damn lie!! Appreciate that! Thanks for watching!
Man I spent so much time at that plant. The trucking company around the corner is who I used to drive for. We hauled a lot out of there. Almost every load came out of there. Gave up flatbed for car hauling and I miss flatbedding every day... when I saw you were loading in Wheatland PA I had to watch, makes me feel like I'm there doing it. Great job my man 🤙
Nice toolbox set up
Thank you brother. Thank you.
🎉good job
That is a super job doing the tarps. Be safe!
Dawn M Thanks Dawn 👍🏼
A true pro!!! Very cool! thanks!
Thank you. Appreciate that! I’m learning!
Cool video and thx for showing detail of most of ur labor. Awesome really enjoyed the video.
Thank you for this…I’m teaching myself to do this thank god for you tube… appreciate the lesson bud
Hey man thank you for the comment and thanks for watching. If there’s anything I can help with feel free to shoot me an email. Good luck in all that you do brother and be SAFE! 👊🙏💯
Enjoyed the video - Thank you for putting this out here and I hope you have been able to get your own Business as you said you wanted to...
I have. And running the truck I’ve always wanted to. Praise God. Thank you sir. God Bless.
Thanks for sharing. I just got my Class A CDL in October with all my endorsements (Double-Triples, Tankers, HazMat, etc.), and I start my first trucking gig on Saturday as a Flatbed Company Driver (#FlatbedGang!, LOL). I'm pretty worried about all the tying down, strapping down, chaining down, and all the tarping down, haha. I know they're gonna teach me all that, but I'm worried I'll mess up or not learn it fast enough.
With all that said, your video was very informative. I like that you rarely made any cuts in the video and, for the most part, kept it raw from start to finish. I subscribed, and look forward to watching the other videos you have available.
Wow .... Great Job. I enjoyed watching every minute of the video. I learned alot as well. Thank You
Thank you for watching. I haven’t done step by step vids anymore because I was told they are too long. What do you think?
Thats a lot of work lol but i must get into this business! Thanks for the video!
Looks like more than it is because this was the beginning of my career. I can secure and tarp this load now in 30-45 minutes.
....🤠👍👍👍🙄....verry interresting....beautiful Job....super ...many greetings from Germany 🇺🇸♥️
Germany 🇩🇪 ! I was just saying to someone from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 that I’m always blown away when I see comments from viewers that live in other countries. I love it. It means that I’m reaching out further then I ever thought I could reach. All love and blessings to 🇩🇪! Be blessed and thanks for taking the time to leave a comment.
Thank you for these videos. I'm starting my flatbed journey Monday and I've learned alot from you 🙏🏿 #respect
#RESPECT Peace and Thank you. I really appreciate it. Congrats on your new move and if there’s anything I can do, let me know. Thanks again for the support and the comment.
Same here!
I can’t tell you how much these videos are helping me. I just graduated from securement training with Lonestar Transportation and trust me when I say it’s hard(er) to find vids on proper securement through UA-cam. Hoping I can make vids like this once I get around to doing Oversized in the next few months. Great work!!!
Yeah it wasn’t all his fault though. Trying to satisfy another driver was his first mistake. Keep me posted and best of luck. Stay focused and you WILL make it happen!
Slip it through then turn backwards strapgame learning! 😮
Wish ALL places had tarping stations like this lol!
+dave williams Hell yeah, you and me both Dave. 👊🏼
I'm assuming most tarping is done by hand?? Without the tarp lifting mechanism??
@@jixter_boy2452 yes 99.9%
I was thinking going into flatbed. But damn that’s a lot of things to learn 😓
Brother, you got it. It’s not rocket science. Nothing you can’t handle unless you don’t like hard work. lol
Choice MAS?? Great Video....Keep up the good work....I enjoy your securement videos....step by step...to make that load...legal and safe...so I thank you....great video
Can never be too safe. Thanks for sharing.
+Michael Bates exactly Michael, thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. Peace!
Hey bud thanks for the video. Im starting out in flatbeds in 2 weeks. Ive been a otr driver for 20 yrs and want to try something new.
Congrats. Coming over to the dark side, huh? 😂 you’ll either like it, love it, or hate it. Need anything let me know brother!!
Nothing like open deck aka "Skateboarding"! Wouldn't do anything else, unless heavy haul. Stay safe out there bro! 👌🏾☝🏾🙏🏾✊🏾!
Thanks Heavy, you do the same. Stay fresh fam! 👊🏼💯
Very well done!!
learned a lot watching your videos.
That Tarp station is really nice .They didn't have anything like that when I was trucking. Back in the 60s and 70s
Larry when you were trucking were the golden days of trucking. I wish I would have had a taste of those days. Salute and respect to you Sir.
Great video ❤ thanks
Thank you Diana. Appreciate you taking the time to watch and the time to leave a comment. God bless. 💯🙏🏼👊🏼
I’m no truck driver, but that tarping station is badass!
Great content man really appreciated!
Thank you brother. 🙏🏼
The guy is a bloody tarping artist!
Thanks 🙏💯
Looks like I need to get into this field my brother
I live in that plant I am 1 off the interplant trucks for Sharon tube and wheat land tubes. Ohio and p.a. plants all my 2nd homes.
The beginning of the video I remember when I was with my dad we got the same load and we had to use Chains because they was still hot
Wow!!! What an incredible video. That tarp machine was so cool, never knew something like that even existed. Thanks for showing!
Thanks for watching. God bless.
A work of art, my man.
Hey man thanks! Thanks for watching to and leaving a comment as well!
I started to comment about turning the bungee hooks facing outward and as I was typing it, you actually wrote that on the screen and said it too! Lol... but at first, they were facing in, against the tarp. Lolol. Great video though bro, got me wanting to record my securement and tarping techniques. I mean I have a Gopro and I do it everyday.....hmmm🤔
Just do it! #NIKE
Just subscribed to your channel im about to go to roehl in wisconsin in a few weeks and was told they were gonna put me in flat bed fleet. Amazing how its done roehl pays great for this. Its their top paying fleet.
Good for start up and then move on!
There are fleets that pay more though.
man I did flatbed years ago it was a good job. never seen that tarping station tho. that makes life a bit easier. I was working a tarp over my load and backstepped right off the load 10 ft to the ground. shit sucked ass
Damn, I know that shit hurt. Hope your doing better today!
Good video
🙏🏼💯👊🏼
Nice music. I think I want to be a trucking evangelist! Cheers!
The only thing I would add is don't throw your top straps the same direction. so if you're going to secure the top level with four straps alternate them from left to right right to left
You’re right Stacey, however this company has ALL the winches on the same side of the flatbed. Don’t ask me why, I have no idea. Otherwise I am now with a company that I alternate the straps and the torque on each side.
VERY NICE JOB , PLEASE STAY SAFE AND GOD BLESS
+sheldon hill Thanks, I appreciate it! You do the same and Blessings as well!
Enjoyed the lesson on taping (sheeting here in UK) Thought the taping machine was impressive.
Paul Whitear hey thanks Paul, and thanks for watching. More videos to come. Hope you subscribed. And wow, all the way in the UK, that's cool. I'll tell my daughters godfather that as he's from Manchester. *sheeting 👊🏼
Only two things I saw that I do differently is when you pull your bungies I go the opposite way you did in the video, I've had to many bungies just snap and hit me in different places, face, body shots, it hurts , the other , if you want to avoid having holes as much in your tarps , turn your hooks to face outward, inwards they tend to punch holes in n the tarps going down the road , I'm a 4 year flat bed otr with boyd, lease operator , otherwise very nicely done, truck number 12127 is myself if you ever see me roaming
Appreciate the comment and the suggestions which today I follow. This video was in my first year of trucking. I’ve come a long way since then. Sincerely appreciate the comment without a negative approach. Drive safe driver.
Wow, I'm 12177
Just got a new sub, good shit bro.
Dude, thanks for the video. I'm from Cali and hope to break into flatbed. I learned a ton.
Thank you for watching. Truly appreciate it. Vids are just my growth in this trade. This vid was actually my very first year in trucking. Anything I can do to help, let me know.
@@choicemas thanks I will! I appreciate that.
Nice bro
Wow I learn something today. I'm like what the hell are they doing.
😂😂 I was probably learning it at the same time! I had to teach myself load securement!
No one does it better than him
Humbled. Appreciate that. Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching! Always! Stay blessed man! 👊🙏💯
you a bad MAN I ain't doing all that I ain't tough, and I damn sure wouldn't be doing that in the cold!! tip my hat to you flatbed boys I ain't doing it, id been 50 miles down the road all ready with half the load somewhere on the road between the shipper and I. I ain't got the patients for that!! dry van gang!!!
Boogie7221 I already know 👊🏼
You do a lot more sitting and waiting with dry van and reefer compared to flatbed.
TheWodeh doing this in -30 degrees in canadian winters plus the wind, aint easy! But there's nothing like the pride of driving a nice tight tarped load! It ain't for everyone :)
Gawd, that looks so complicated!! Respect 🤦♀️
It ain't hard at all
Few questions for you. Why did they have you use straps on that load as opposed to chains? Also once the tarp is secured and you're going down the road how are you able to check your straps and or chains with a tarp covering everything? In other words when you stop the make sure the load didn't shift or the straps to not loosen up how do you check on them and or tighten them up with everything tarps down?
Chains can damage some metals. You check the tension of the straps at the wenches. The wenches are not covered by the tarp. They are under the flatbed. Load shift? If you’re securement is on point and you drive your truck safely you will not have any loadshifts. I’ve been out for 2.5 years and have never had a load shift.
I used to drive a fb, but class b and it was enough work. This class a fb is an entirely different story. Was going to get class a. Think I'll just stick to office work!
crazywomancreek1 lol...
Excellent job
Great Video
Thank you for the video im looking foward to become owner flat bed
Thanks for watching!
It's all nice and good when you indoors, nice and dry with a tarping machine. Do that outside when its windy ,raining or miserably cold with no tarping machine. Tarping Is so primitive. We got curtain side trailers now and those accordion style tarp trailers even rack and tarp is 10 x better than tarping all by hand.
Yeah I’ve tarped in the elements, call me crazy but I like to tarp. That doesn’t mean I want to tarp every load but it is very meditative in a way for me. 👍🏼
I've never heard anybody describe the act of tarping a load as cathartic in any shape or form
Cool vids man. I'm learning through you💯💪
Thank you, I Appreciate that!
You’re the best!!!!
Hey Victor, that’s a generous comment. Thanks. Thanks for the support as well brother!
Just getting into flatbed the edge protectors you use there was that just old pieces of tarps
Yea sir. The padding was old tarp. I use old tarps cut up, Astro turf cut in to pieces, as well as felt pads. Those are my preferences for edge protectors under tarps and straps.
Keep up the good work
AB!!! Thanks a million. Appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment and showing support. It says a lot! 😎👊🙏
She's not going anywhere. Good Job.
'preciate the insight on this Brozay. It's a good look
love your fold , using that Monday !
Thank you
That intro is pretty dope
This is my school before school. Good lookin.
great video!!!!
What size bungee straps to you use??? Thanks for the very helpful video.. tarting my first load of pipes tomorrow.
