Great video.... dealer quoted $780 for this job. I just bought spark plugs for $18 (set of 4) & ignition coils $42 (set of 4) on eBay, followed all the steps from this helpful video and with a little bit of help with a neighbor and his tools, after 1 hr time well spent, I could do it all by myself. Thank you a lot for the video Sir.
Hi Jonathan, Thank you for the advice. Yes.. I did bit of research before buying NGK sparkplugs (PLZKAR6A-11) which turned out to be exact model match to what I pulled out of my versa SV sedan 2012. I can't couldn't be so sure of the coils but, they looked good too and brand new. Thanks a lot once again... your videos are giving me a lot of confidence to do few DIYs on my car. @The mech a nic You are the absolute greatest! My 2015 Versa Note SR is having major issues - ignition coils (blowing up per my former mechanic), oil on plugs, dreaded flashing check engine light followed by full engine kill, which is super fun on the interstate. I’ve used this vid to change out the plugs, and tomorrow, I’m going back in to do gaskets on manifold, valve cover, and throttle body. Thank you again! You have saved me hundreds of dollars! I wish I could just replace this car, but used cars are ridiculously expensive right now. Anyway, I wish you all the best!!!! -M
Great tutorial and the best so far. I especially liked the way u removed just the throttle body without disconnecting the anti freeze hoses. I got it all done. Thank you
I just did one on my mom's car. The check engine light went on, and with a code scanner, I found a code P0303, which is a third cylinder misfire. I bought a set of new coils and a set of spark plugs. I also bought dielectric grease and anti seize to get my job done. Thanks for posting.
Glad the video helped you. I'd throw out the #3 coil but keep the other 3 . They're still working and it's a good idea to keep them if they're original nissan parts.
while this is an older video, trust me when i say you helped me yesterday BIGTIME! The procedure was a huge pain in the butt, especially the lower bolts. Changed the plugs, put it all back together, turns out it was ignition coil on cylinder 2..bought a new coil pack and repeated the process. Youre a life saver dude, Thank you!
Easily the UA-cam video of the year for me. Had CEL and took it to the stealership, and the fault code was P0302, which is a misfire in cylinder 2. Coil and spark plug replacement, the stealership gave me an estimate of $2,000. Many thanks to you, I was able to do this for less than $200, I replaced all 4 coils and 4 spark plugs; I mean why not? I might as well right? That $200 also included a set of cheap ratchet set.
Just used your very thorough video to complete this job on my friend's 2015 Nissan Versa Note. Did spark plugs and intake gasket. Cleaned the throttle body as well. At 170,000 miles, the factory platinum spark plugs were extremely worn. Installed NGK iridium spark plugs. Job went well. Thanks!
I went to pep boys today to diagnose a check engine light. Turns out I need to change an ignition coil. You did this in less than 15 minutes, with some time for your adorable baby :). They wanted to charge me $311 for what they claimed is over 2 hours of work. Thankfully a friend of mine is very handy and going to help me change it with help from this video. Thanks, yes I get an average of 40 mpg 💪
Yes... Im getting 38 if I put 93 octane I get 40 mpg
I would stick to 87 octane, it's what the car was made for. 93 octane is harder for the spark plug to ignite. I use 87 and my car average is 39.5
Ahh ok... Thks

I haven't done the spark plugs but when do you suggest getting them done? I am at around 165k kms
+ricelife spark plugs last a very long time nowadays. Check the owners manual. It could say 60,80,100k miles
Great video and very well said. God bless 🙏
Thank you, glad it helped
Did you replace the gasket on the intake manifold or just reuse the old one?
I reused mine because my car was still "new" i made the video just to show hows its done. You should replace the gaskets
Muchas gracias por el Vídeo me sirvió mucho tus so much Saludos desde juarez mexico
Trying to decide if OEM ignition coils are worth the extra $$ or if I should be ok with aftermarket ones.
Aftermarket ones are ok just dont buy the cheapest ones you can find. Look for a decent brand
Nice video. Good job, thanks for sharing. God bless.
Good information, thanks
You're welcome
thanks for your help and information .. lovely baby ❤
You're welcome, thanks for watching
Did you change any gaskets like inlet or throttle body? Thanks
No I didn't because when I made the video my car had low Miles so everything was still new. If you're going in there for a tune up or maintenance you should change any gasket that you open up
great video bro thanks
Thank you 👍
Good job youngman.. Thanks..
Thanks for the comment 👍
Why didn't you change out the intake manifold gaskets?
Because my car had low miles when I made the video. The gaskets were still like new at the time.
Thanks! How to get services manual for that engine?
I believe i got mine from a autozone. Its for a older versa but alot of it is the same
How do I know how to torque at what lbs?? Is there a special tool? Or the regular torque will tell me?
Im not sure i understand your question. Buy a torque wrench and you can look up torque specs online or buy a service manual
@@themechanic6117 thanks :)
Спасибо 👍
Thanks 👍
Do you have to replace the intake gaskets and throttle body gasket if car has 200k on it?
I definitely would
Love it was a big help thanks so much
Great informative video thanks 👍🏼👍🏼
Do you have a list of tools you need?
Buy a small ratchet set and a set of pliers and you should have everything you need .
You don’t have to change the gaskets?
You should , my car had low miles when I made this video so the gaskets were still like new
@@themechanic6117 how do we change the gaskets?
Once the intake manifold is off you just need to peel the old gask off and replace it
Hi sir i have some question to you., is it possible to have problem in spark plug and ignition coil or injector without any engine lights On?
Yes its possible
@@themechanic6117 sir my main problems is my car car run stable, especially when i stop/brake and GO/accelerate, my car like choking though, and i was thinking about the spark plugs or the injector. But idk hehehe
@@themechanic6117 i got 2014 nissan versa note sv
@@Pacsa sounds like a vacuum leak if it doesn't run well only during idle
@@themechanic6117 kinda, but its lossing power when i run and stop the accelerate sir the engine is like no power for may be 5-10 secs. I am so stress with my versa, i bought it second hand
Did everything but when I start it runs for a second then it shuts off ? Vacuum leak? What is the best way to figure this out?
