There's always that guy in the Westerns who walks out for a duel, but flubs his revolver when he tries to quickdraw, and ends up smacking himself in the forehead with it.
That high noon guy... Must've been out in the sun too long.
I loved this deck for awhile, but Lockdown got real popular. Cut a few creatures to run 3-4 Break the Spell. 1 mana enchantment removal. It stopped Lockdown in a big way, you destroy lockdown at instant speed after they declare attacks and watch tons of triggers and huge creatures pop out of nowhere. Even had Voice comeback with invincibility once.
Also consider Get Lost, or if you're poor, Destroy Evil
Deck tech was 11/10. Will definitely watch again
Yeah Gumdrop Poisoner worked since the Case applies to "creature cards", and adventure creatures count as those that just also have an option to cast them as an instant/sorcery if the creature becomes a valid target for casting. OTOH you /wouldn't/ be able to cast adventure spells off of "noncreature spells" becoming valid castables in the GY, I believe

I think you could actually cast Tempt with Treats if you had an effect that allowed you to play or cast a non-creature * spell * from the graveyard (or library) - because when you 'attempt to cast' an Adventure card, you get to choose which kind of spell it is, regardless where you cast it from. But you could not cast Gumpdrop Poisoner with such an effect, because that's a creature spell.
If you had an effect that said cast (or copy) a non-creature * card * in your graveyard, that would not work with Tempt with Treats.
Yes, from what I understand, if it had said "you can play creatures from your graveyard" it would only be the creature portion, but since it's creature CARDS, the card itself gets the effect. The whole card.
It's worded that way to keep sacrifice creatures from going infinite, because the card "forgets" that it had the "cast from graveyard ability" when it changes zones. Case only applies to creature cards in the graveyard at time of casting.
-You would still need a Cavern naming "Human" and not "Spirit" in order to cast Lunarch Veteran for its distrub cost. You are still casting the front half, it just enters transformed if you cast the disturb cost.-
Edit: Just took a look at the comprehensive rules. The actual wording on disturb says you cast it transformed, so it would be back side up even on the stack. This is another case of why its important to look at the CR and not only rely on reminder text.
It's also important if the backside is an Aura so it would target

I think life gain has to run Get Lost, due to Lockdown. It also benefits from spot removal, since Gumdrop Poisoner struggles against midrange creatures in the early to mid game.

Plot twist, when you are on vacation send your deck lists to rarran and have him guess what your deck does and splice it into your intro
I'm fairly sure that when you activate Case of the Uneaten Feast, it only applies to creature cards currently in your graveyard. I have tried to set this up for some kind of infinite sac-return combo (I think with a Greedy Freebooter so the treasure would pay to re-cast it) and it didn't let me :(. But possibly I mis-played somehow.
(edit: yeah it's a 'continuous effect' applying to cards in your graveyard at the time, not a 'static ability'. Similar example is "creatures you control gain haste until end of turn", creatures you bring in after giving the rest haste, will not have haste)

What an obscenely lazy intro LMAO I love it
14 lands out of 24 cards is annoying on principle, but when you get to play 8 of the others and just a single one gets removed, it doesn't feel so bad.
dude i beat this deck 3x in a row lol with a super cheap deck. 4 pixie, 2 cut down, 3 hopeless nightmare, 4 banishing slash, 4 ossification, 4 infernal grasp, 4 tithing blade(pixie duh) , 4 borrowed time, 3 wedding announcement, 4 heros downfall, 2 serra paragon(really cool interactions with pixie and my trash lands because im mtg poor). my lands suck but i do like roadside reliquary and evolving wilds, pretty much any land that breaks itself is a card advantage with serra but i dont have the wildcards to make it better atm.
Voice of the blessed is rotating out soon, isn't it? I do want to add it to my lifegain, but, if it is gone soon, no point if its gone in a month :P

Query of the community: Is there a good aristocrats style deck available in standard/commander/brawl? That and simic are my favorite styles of play.
Commander and Brawl have very good choices, start with “Elas-il Kor, Sadistic Pilgrim” in the command zone. For Standard, you’re going to need “Vein Ripper” and the “Sadistic Pilgrim” together. GLHF
I've really tried to make it work in standard, and a lot of the cards are there, but it's just a bit too clunky. Your best sacrifice outlet is Bartolome del Presidio, and you do have payoffs in Elas il-Kor, Vito, and Vraan (Vein Ripper works too, but it's 6 mana), but generally it just requires too many pieces on the board at the same time, in a format jam packed with removal. When OG Aristocrats was good, it was a lot faster and put real pressure on the opponent.
@@QibingZero So there isn't enough atm and the good things are too expensive. 6 mana is insanely expensive, 5 is about as high a cost a card as I can see being used without ramp being a big part of the deck.

Even tho I have 4 Amalia and 4 Voice of the blessed in my life gain deck it seems I almost never get them. When I do they don't come together with any etb life gaining creatures it's crazy. This didn't seem to happen a few month ago when I used to play orzhov life gain but didn't use 4 of each.
play more it normal to have varience when playing a deck like you saw him drawing 14 land in 24 draw it a lot but it does happen
Felt like this archetype did very well a week or two ago but now the matchmaker has found out the deck and started pitching it against matchups it will have a much harder time against.
I love the generic intro, it's funny and unique and has that CGB charm

I feel like CGB played almost the exact same deck 3 weeks ago. Except he said Voice of the Blessed was bad because it made the control matchup, which was already bad, even worse.

I love this type of deck but it gets absolutely bodied by any type of sweeper and I always feel like I get paired up against control when I play it.

Mono Red players who hate this deck in the Meta: YOU DID THIS TO YOURSELF.
2nd game was painful. Player had to be on mobile.
It felt like there was truly nothing that could've been done against that mono black player with tiny bones and Lilliana lol. It's always such an annoying situation when you have no choice but to play a creature into the Lil sacrifice, but on top of that knowing that tiny bones gets to cast it afterwards... nah I'm outta there lol.
Maybe order the deck by mana value instead of that clumper of bs?

That Cavern of Souls hurts my brain. I've been enjoying a similar deck for the last few weeks, but feel like it isn't interactive enough. Either they have the answer (exiling your dudes instead of killing them), or they don't. Terrible matchup versus UW control, strong against basically everything else. Basically this deck is a meta call, counting on the aggro decks to keep you from bumping into the control. The other bad matchups are GB variants with Graveyard Trespasser and Oops, all combo. That is, assuming you fix your mana base - please please don't play Cavern of Souls, there are a million BW dual lands that are much more reliable.
