Thanks a lot for watching and safe journeys!
More of Latin America please! It's nice for a change from the usual countries in Europe and Asia, there are so many countries and places in Central and South America that is unexplored by tourists and even most travel vloggers, like El Salvador, Nicaragua, Guyana, French Guiana, Suriname, Paraguay etc.
You are absolutely correct ❤
Agree 100%
It’s super risky is why
@nikosniko7092 because crime so crazy
@@CapriWinarat I think it depends on which areas and countries. I heard El Salvador is now safer than ever because of the reforms and tough on crime policies. Southern Mexico safe, northern not so much. Etc.
Just think, 2 years ago there is no way you could have safely walked around these streets. I'm sooo happy for that country, people there can live a normal life and tourists can go safely enjoy it as well.
How do you know? Were you there two years ago? Your only knowledge is hearsay I think. I think your a couch potato. You don't go anywhere. Just only watching people aimlessly wandering around.
Oooohh wooptie doo. I've been to 94 countries.
How come it’s not dangerous now

Dr Gabriel I m a Salvadoran living in the I was in San Salvador visiting family last year and just happened to stay at the same hotel you were last week, I like to watch videos from travelers but was really impressed of yours maybe because these videos were taped by a gringo from a different perspective than another Salvadoran , thank you and hope you enjoyed my country.
@15:20 // for the Meal !!
Hey thanks a lot, super appreciate it. ✌️🍺
Hey victor don’t give this guy any money please. He makes money off UA-cam. Sin verguenza Gabriel.
It is clearly a country which is trying to improve in many ways. Have a great time there Gabe! Looking forward to more scenes from this nice little nation. 🎉
One of the things I really love about this channel is when you go to a new country and give your “first impressions.” This was awesome. Super excited to see and learn about a new country. ❤️👏😊
I like the country a lot the people are amazing and I felt safe there too
That blanket has been around the world!
Thank you for visiting my country
Things have changed for the better now.
Hope you have a great time
Hello and Good Evening From London Smashing that like 👍
every time 2 dudes on a motorcycle pass you I get super nervous.
its ok, El Salvador is safe now and even during the worse years the tourits were never affected by crime
El Savador was an excellent choice for you to explore! Looking forward to seeing more.
Great video again ! 😊❤🇧🇦
It’s always so exciting to see a new country through your lens🙌🏽
Congratulations on getting 600,000 subscribers🎊🎉 I hope you have a great and enjoyable time in El Salvador👍
So good to see you back in Central America, if only for a few weeks. Looking forward to see El Salvador open up as you make your way.
I’m sooo glad you decided to go Central Americas!! Great video! More of central and south Americas please 🙏 ❤
So entirely cool, seeing those short, snub nose buses, still rolling around. Wish I could find one around here. I want to visit now. Thanks amigo!
"Revuelta" usually means a mixture of things like chicken, beef, pork, and cheese. Though I suppose places can serve it how they want. Good to see you enjoying your time there so far!
And egg, right?
@@MARC-FENIX Not sure if this is a regular thing. I've noticed places that serve them with eggs usually have higher prices. Best to ask the server I guess.
@@MARC-FENIX huevos revuelta is like scrambled eggs..
Eggs are not a pupusa ingredient. But I see how you get eggs in your mind, since huevos revueltos is Spanish for scrambled eggs. But for pupusa revuelta they just blend beans, cheese, pork, tomatos, oions, garlics, bell pepers into a pupusa. they are quite good.
May God bless all your trip and moments you are experiencing in el Salvador 🇸🇻 and once again thank you for choosing to visit my country where you will always feel and be welcomed.
Razor wire and iron bars protecting the homes, a nice touch of local charm. People are nice but clearly infrastructure has not been a priority.
Looks like that one multistory half completed building has sat a long time. Hoping for better times for El Salvador. Gritty is the appropriate description you gave. At least probably much safer than areas of Los Angeles.
Why would tourists visit unsafe parts of LA? Your comment doesn't make sense.
@@DeputyDog-mh1yo Why would you fly all the way to El Salvador and stay in an area with razor wire and iron bars? Do you think that is just kitchy decor? It means crime, but my point is that even so, a similar area in L.A. would be much more dangerous, altho Gabriel did see one guy openly carrying a gun. The gun is for either protection or crime. Glad Gabriel is showing us the place so I don't have to visit.
Makes a lot of sense. It points out an inconvenient truth about the quality of life in parts of this country.
Insightful comparisons are always appropriate.
@@RG-cz1tc Well, I agree. I wouldn't stay in a dumpy area while on vacation.
@@RG-cz1tc a lot of places have barbed wire and bars in El Salvador, so definitely not a good place for YOU to visit
I was in El Salvador 20 years ago but on the other side closer to San Miguel. The landscape is beautiful and the people were so inviting and friendly. Despite the violent history most of the people I met were very down to earth and would give you the shirt off their back. There are great places to hike and enjoy the rivers and mountains. El Salvador has made great progress and their future is looking up. As you get out of the residential area and explore you will really enjoy the sights. Every place outside of the busy city people always greeted everyone and each other with a nice Buen dia. Have a great time.
Very nice video Gabriel, good narrative and good pace, I feel like I am there. The people serving the food assume everybody knows how to eat pupusas, but they should explain a little bit, like you don't need fork. The cabbage and the sauce goes on top of the pupusas, but what you did is also correct, but I never saw it before (dunking the pupusa inside the sauce).jjjj Thank you for visiting El Salvador, and have a nice stay.
Was clean and your first meal with that Golden Beer was lookin good . Looking forward to your next post . Thanks Gabriel .
Cool, a country I've always wanted to explore more of. I had a quick stopover in San Salvador en route to Guatemala once, hope to go back. Looking forward to watching this series. Cheers
Welcome to El Salvador 🇸🇻
Muchas gracias. 👍🍺
That's what they said to Christopher Columbus! The saviour
@@GabrielTravelerVideoswow, getting the hang of Spanish already
Mar y Tierra means, Sea and land. Basically, it's the equvalent of Surf and Turf in North America.
Thanks, that's what I guessed.
@GabrielTravelerVideos I visited El Salvador, 2x last year. It's one of my favourite countries. People are so friendly and kind. Don't miss visiting these places,
La Libertad, El Tungco, Santa Ana, Tazumal, Lago de Coatepeque, Suchitoto, Panchimalco, and of course the historic district and Zona Rosa in San Salvador. Have fun!
Hope you enjoy el salvador small country but full of good surprises
Holiday Inn Antiguo Cuscatlan is close to Wal Mart, embassy, Dollar City and some nice malls. And very safe.
Walmart= yanks no thanks, they will gringofy it in no time just like Mexico, Argentina better
Loving this video, looking forward to seeing the next one. Be safe.
Excited to see the next series of videos Gabriel is the man ❤
Negra Modelo my favorite too! Pupusas from El Salvador 👌🏼 FYI usually the cabbage goes on top of the pupusa then you pour the tomato sauce over it and now you use the silverware.
Excited for this series!!! Im in Mexico in April. so looking forward to this!
Hey Gabriel, I’ve never thanked you, but I moved to Thailand in 2015, moved around SE Asia and others parts of the world then had a baby back in Kansas City, and I yearn for this life, but I adore my own. I live through you, I know it’s hard work, but keep it up man!
Why did you leave Thailand?
I was there in December, very interesting to see it from your camera. I liked it there , especially the coast of course. Felt very safe, I roamed around freely.
Hi Gabe, I'm so excited that you're in a new country! I know nothing at all about El Salvador, and I can't wait to hear about all your adventures, and learning about the country and culture of El Salvador. 😎
Your meal looked so delicious! I first tried papusas many years ago. I had a roommate who was from Venezuela, and she used to make homemade papusas for us. Yum! 😋I think papusas are common to many South American countries, but each country has their own way of making them.
Hmmm, now I'm hungry for papusas!
Have a good time, enjoy the country
Great trip again
The gal who cuts my hair is from El Salvador. If I am recalling correctly, she grew up in mountainous country, so there must be some mountains if you head inland.
San Salvador is inland. You can see a pretty big mountain at 0:38 in the video. Looks like a volcano but I'm not sure about that, maybe someone else can confirm. I do plan to get higher up into the mountains.
Loving the content from Central America!
Gab im going to give you a real comment. Been watching you for a while and never would think you would take the risk and go to LATIN COUNTRIES. I had a bet going with some and i lost the bet.😊..but i give you credit for taking the chance and add the missed countries in your portfolio. Safe journeys and thanks for showing us the diversity in your travels.❤👍😎
He's not in South America
You haven't lost yet. El Salvador is in Central America, not South America. But I've already been to South America nine years ago: ua-cam.com/video/-RDv7O4aGHM/v-deo.html
How much was the bet for?
@@GabrielTravelerVideos lol...a beer and a discussion about traveling to safe places verses sketchy dangerous places. The history of the places relevant to time and educating people is always important as why I/appreciate you gab👍😎. Love history and travel no matter the risk.
@@rerunplaya532 Cheers, enjoy the beer. 🍺
@@GabrielTravelerVideosDude, your old school Peru trips are what got me into you circa 2014
Love this new locale….keeping things interesting.
Gabriel! That is not how you usually eat Pupusas... hey.. but that works! El Salvador is a great country with great people. You do have to go to the coast. It is amazing!
Dear friend, I am glad you had a great time visiting El Salvador. It was interesting seeing my native country thru the eyes of a "gringo" traveling down there...
I am so glad to see that you are now able to safely do all these things :)
I truly enjoy your channel-looking forward to seeing more of your videos. 😂😅
Great walking tour of san salvador
Cool choice Gabe! Be sure to big up Bitcoin while you're there. It's the first reason El Salvador came on my radar 😁
For $5 a Gringa is a flour tortilla taco. So basically, a quesadilla with either beef, pastor, mixed, or vegetarian. Mar y tierra is surf and turf.
Pupusa revuelta is frijol queso y chicharrón.
Another popular one is pupusa loroco, which is a flower similar to asparagus. Eat them with your hands. Pull a piece off and pick up some curtido and por some tomato juice on. Those beers were cheap, but pupusas can be found for 50 cents from stands around the city.
Yep, I got three for a dollar in Santa Ana: ua-cam.com/video/80T21EFLCFc/v-deo.html
My first time eating Papusas was in Mtn View California back in the 90's after my El Salvadorian friend and I finished smoking some wacky tabacky we got the munchies and we went to a spot that made them fresh. I was so hungry I just piled up the cabbage salad on top folded it like a crunchy taco and went to work! lol It tasted so good! Enjoy yourself! I was considering visiting there now that it is safe but I already purchased a ticket to Japan. I'm looking forward to the current exchange rate which is highly in my favor :)
Basically you will see that throughout Latin America.
Thanks for exploring the Latin American city of San Salvador. ❤from Sylhet Bangladesh 🇧🇩.
I love puppsas! Dump the curtido (pickled slaw) on them, then pour the sauce on top. The sauce is not spicy. Use as much as you like.
Looks nice Gabriel 😊❤😎☀️
Don’t forget Suchitoto if you have time. Well worth a visit.
Central America is probably the only region of the world I haven’t been to yet,
Does it feel safe there?
Those pupusa looks delicious
Safest country in the western hemisphere, be careful when crossing the roads though, the drivers can be quite careless at times
I heard All My Love and found myself listening to it over and over last night lol
Yummy video bro 😋Thanks for sharing and keep going 👍😁
I remember the kennedy half dollar 😊
Great video Gabe, I've been curious about Central America for a while.
Costa Rica is a great starter.
@@BarnaliD where do you recommend in Costa Rica?
looks super cool.
Gabe you don’t get jet lag flying north to south, jet lag comes from crossing east west time zones, you’re just tired.😄
Hi Ben. In this case it isn't a matter of the time difference but taking an overnight flight. Flight left at 1:30 in the morning, lands at 9am, I'm not able to sleep much on the plane so I land tired and then have to take a nap in the afternoon, then can't get to to sleep at a normal time that night. So my sleep gets all out of whack as a result.
Gotta hit up the Beach areas around El Tunco. That's where the chill beach vibes are at and great waves. El zonte and costa del sur is nice
Hi Gabreil, like most cities you're going come across the town square and churches. Sounds like you're heading for San Salvador historic center you may want to see the Santa Ana Volcano, Cerro Verde National Park, or a hidden gem costal town Mizata.
This was super helpful, Gabriel, love your videos. I'm heading to San Salvador in a few weeks, the "beer index" is always valuable to me. I will toast you with a "Golden" when I get there :-)
Super jealous. San Salvador looks exactly like I hoped it would be. Can't wait to be there in a few months.
Also, looked up those coins at 19:12. Looks like they were official US dollars released in 2007-08. A Commemorative release, but legal currency. 👍
Go to plaza Bambu, San Benito, National palace square with brand new library, beach at Costa de el sol, Tazumal Archaeological Park, and many more........
Looks like an old Gabriel traveler thumbnail from
when I first started following him in 2015
You're supposed to put the cabbage and sauce on top of the pupusas and eat it together
Revuelta is most popular usually so u picked right :) and yea bro 3 of those are for sure enough :)))) I’d say for u two perfect. That third hit heavy I bet
UA-cam attached Nissan commercial
2:17 barber wire. The town is well taken care of. I see good asphalt pavement, drainage system.
12:36 “That sounds good, whatever it is 😅” Another great one liner from Gabriel.
17:58 speed bump
18:37 I had to look up the word “gritty” in the urban dictionary. It says harsh, coarse, rough.
La Neveria has good ice cream, you should try it!
Don't forget to visit the mayan ruins please!!!
Cool Gabe, head to the Centro Historico and the market area for a more vibrant experience
Yep, next video. One of the most interesting markets I've seen.
@@GabrielTravelerVideos awesome 👌
Hasta luego, senor Gabriel. Good food, Led Zeppelin, and tropical weather --- life is good! Looks like you're going to get subscriber 600 K in Latin America -- celebrate with a cerveza ;;; cheers!
Thanks and definitely. 🍺
Some of best waves in world are in El Salvador. If time ID say check el tunco beach. La bocana is one of best waves in El Salvador too. Just some ideas for u 🤙🏼 and u got to try home made Pupusas. Or spot that makes them super fresh. So good
Awesome ❤
'Best Wishes Sir' with regards sent from Western Scotland.
I've known many drunkard Scotsmen 🏴
looking fwd to this video. i have el salvador, hondoras and panama left for central America. i know the pupusas are delisous though!
Food is really cheap in El Salvador compared to America. I’m Salvadoran and we love rock music, we have bars and restaurants full dedicated to rock and metal.
The razor wire on top of the high fences was not a good residential look. Yikes! Restaurants seemed great though and the trees were cool.
slightly expensive hotel room but of course has a great view
Had pupusas from a Salvadorian restaurant in Guatemala, were so delicious.
Thanks!
Thanks a lot, super appreciate it. Cheers. ✌️🍺
Omg check that coin... that is so cool! Mannn you make me hungry, pupusas are delicious!
You should pick a special place for your 100th country!
I couldn't help noticing that the streets were almost deserted as the sun set.
He is a little far from the city center. Downtown San Salvador is crowded late at night. It is very safe anywhere in El Salvador
You must go to el TUNCO!
Golden is not my favorite. I prefer Pilsner on a hot day. Suprema and Regia are good too.
Hiii Gabrielll❤❤❤
💡👍Brilliant !!
i guess the 8 beers is if you bring some friends along. Im in!
Or if you're just really thirsty. 🍺
I guess El Salvador has its own coins like Ecuador which also uses the US dollar.
Gabriel ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Nice, like from Amadores
The music sounds it could also work well with a Middle-Eastern country
Looked like a good meal.
Hello Gabriel next time you go to the capital San Salvador try to go to the other side of the city were the modern part and better upscale neigborhoods, hotels and restaurants are, like Escalon, San Benito, Santa Elena, La gran VIA, there is many places, also you miss el Boqueron, Which is the San Salvador Volcano , there is a great view from the capital at 7000 feet level, and the best Pupusas Planes de Renderos and Puerta Del Diablo. be safe BRO!
