Hello, I spent all day today researching the internet for information on how to fix an issue I encountered when I received a new modem-unable to view my surveillance cameras remotely. There is a lot of information, but your video finally helped me connect the dots and realize I needed to configure my new modem and add port forwarding settings for my cameras. Thank you so very much, this is a fantastic video!!
Great explanation and so easy to follow! Thank you so much - I've spent weeks googling trying to find out a way to access my camera remotely and try to make sense of all the tech speak! Your video made it so simple.
Best explanation of port forwarding I've come across. Many thanks - I now understand what I have to do to connect remotely to my home CCTV DVR. Thanks from England

Thanks for sharing the videos .This tutorial is so detailed and easy to follow. And i've couple of Question . Great video, question, don't you need to use dynamic dns to view camera from outside the home ?? I thought you have to use dynamic dns to see camera from outside your home network.
Excellent Video! What if there are two routers in series on the DVR side of the internet? It goes from the main router, to an upstairs router/switch, and then to the DVR..
Hi. Is any way you can help to set up port forwarding for TALK TALK wifi hub. There many options to chose, and so far i did not figure out what to choose.
Sorry. No idea what device is that. Unfortunately I can go 101 to fix issues. Record free videos takes a lot of my personal time (channel does run any ads).
What ports are needed?what are media, web,Mobil, udp and rtsp ports and their use? What is work around for active x (Internet explorer) discontinued?I.e. chrome or safari or opera?Plus video loss?
Thank you very much!! just have one question if i have about 6 o 8 cameras hat about port numbers? should i give a differente port number for each camera or put the same and just change the ip adress?
This is great. Very helpful for understanding what is happening. This explanation is for direct connection to a single camera. But how do you adapt this explanation for multiple cameras going to a central cctv dvr box? Is it basically identical?
You either do the por forwarding per IP camera or recorder. If you have a DVR connected to 16 cameras, you just need to set up the port forwarding once (for the DVR). The same is true if you are using NVRs.
Is this only good for IP Cameras? Is it different if I have Analog Camera? Currently using an Amcrest DVR, I have downloaded the app to my phone. I am able to access the cameras through the app when I am connected to my home network. But once I leave my local network, I cannot and roam or use a work network, I cannot connect.
Thank you for your informative videos. I just set up a Verizon 5G Home Internet Gateway and trying to do the Port Forwarding for my LTS Security Camera System and IP Cameras. I accessed the Verizon 5G Gateway and went into Advance Settings where Port Forwarding was listed. I added my LTS DVR iPv4 address and added Port 80, Port 8000, and Port 8554. Unfortunately it didn't work. Any suggestions? Also I was thinking of adding a router to the Gateway thinking I could plug the LTS Security Camera System into the router and then set up the Port Forwarding on the router rather than the gateway. Interested in your thoughts on this also. Thanks, Ken
Is this possible that my ip camera on remote network(my warehouse far from home but connected to internet) and my dvr is on local network (home) and record on it.
Great explanation. I have a couple of ip cameras and the problem I have is....how to find out what ports I can use, I have no idea. I notice you used ports 8080 and 34567. I don't know.
Hi, I'm using Meye app to view my 8 channels cctv cam. I got 1 ipcam from Foscam using IPcam Viewer Pro app to view. I was wondering how do I make this 8 channels cctv camera to be able to view on IPcam Viewer Pro app as well. I've tried many way putting the address also doesn't work. Could you help me, highly appreciated! Thank you Sir
Awesome video!! I have two questions: 1. The port number 34567, did you just create it at random or it's a standard port number 2. When you moved to the second PC to have access to the camera, is that PC on the same network or different network
1. The port number is for this manufacturer only (not usual). You must forward the ports that are described in the device network’s menu if you want to use such services (example port 80 for http or port 443 for https). 2. Different network via the Internet, otherwise it wouldn’t make any sense.
I'm able to access my cap using public ip and port but its not playing the video may be going to another port that i have to forward too. Do you know how can i know where its stuck now. Which port is it hitting that i need to allow??
Thank you so much. That was step by step for dummies like me. I am in the process of setting up system at dads house to watch over him and keep him safe. I will know in a few weeks if i did it correct. I do have 1 question though. Do i have to port each camera or can i just access the NVR to navigate all cameras and settings?
Hi Claudemir , Thank you for the great video. I have followed your steps and have it set up but when I remotely try to view by phone / pc/ laptop ; after getting to the page where I have to sing in with my user and password a message pops up saying “ Please install plug-in first” When I click on install and go back it still says the same thing . I have tried with 3 different browsers. I have checked the ports and they are open. Would you be able to advice on a solution. Thank you.
I have shop cameras attached to router to tmobile modem. I wish to access the dvr from home. Don't know how to assign an ip address to the shop system. Any help would be appreciated.
Definitely the best training explanation I’ve ever seen but I have one question if you don’t have a static IP the modem/router will change occasionally and then you lose all your camera viewing and you have to reconfigure the new IP address that the modem has change to. Do you have a solution to keep up with the IP address when they change for your modem so you do not lose your camera and have to reconfigure every time your Internet provider modem IP changes.
Yes, After finishing the Port forwarding process,, use the DynDNS or No-IP DDNS service to solve the dynamic IP problem (The instructions are available on the respective websites).
You probably have an Internet link with dynamic IP, so you dont stop it from changing unless you pay for a service with fix IP. Ask you Internet provider about prices for such option.
@@modousowe1414 Yeah. Sure. You can have Dynamic or Static IP given by your ISP depending on the service you have. You can use Port Forwarding and NAT to have access to the devices in your local area network and DDNS to solve the Dynamic IP issue if you want to. ;)
