Note for viewers- Highly recommended video tutorial.Don't waste your time searching for other tutorials. Thi is the one you want!!!!. Long but Simply the best video tutorial on Port forwarding and internet setting to view your Hik DVR. Explained the basics, how things work and how to set up and showed how to check if the settings are correct. Well done!
My friend, you are GREAT!!! I'm from Brazil and was trying to reactivate our web connection in order to seeing our cameras from our smartphones (we have a Hikvision DVR in our small building, where we live). After reading and whatching a lot of articles and UA-cam videos I was almost giving up (I am not a specialist, but I was trying to avoid to ask for help from the company that had installed the system, because I think they were not honest with us, the DDNS they used expired and they asked more money to reactivate everything). But after watching your video with that richness of information everything became clear and after many failures that I had before, the system worked in my first attempt. So I'd like to thank you for your "lecture", as you said. Continue doing this, you are very competent!
Dude Im from South Africa too .and have been struggling for a while now with WAN and all that rubbish .you are an absolute Legend thanks very much .Giving you a hand .
I have been tearing my hair out for the past six months trying to get my Hikvision system to talk to the web and now thanks to you its all working great! Thank you. Hikvision have just changed their DDNS service address so that confused things but I worked it out!
Dear Philip. I want to post a HUGE thank you for all your tips, you have been helping me though the years and I am forever grateful for your videos. A few years ago, I took on the challenging task of fibreglassing my pool, went onto You-Tube and watched your step by step video.- so helpful! Last month I bought an outdoor Alva gas heater, again back to You-Tube and there your installation video guided me through the process... Today my Hikvision cameras were delivered, back to You-Tube I go for info and alas there you are again. It only dawned on me today that I have been watching the same person all these years🤣.Thank you so much. Hayley. ps. Im sure you will help me again in the future, so I guess I better save myself the headache of searching for a suitable instruction video and just subscribe to your channel🤗
Thank you Hayley. Yours is in my top five best comments received on my channel to date. (I get about 20 comments per day, mostly questions.) Means a lot to me that you took the time to write the above. All the best on tackling technical DIY in the future! regards P
Dude, by mistake, I just got you a stole 1 like from you, because I already gave you one maybe a year ago :):):)..... no worries I gave it right back :) You were absolutely right the first time, you didn't just gave me the solution, you taught me how to do it, which is even better, but all those years of partying hard.... well, I had to come back to drain some knowledge form you again :):):) Thanks.... again ! P.S. With all that knowledge I manage to install all 5 different cameras on my own, and after that..... I understood what IVMS software is doing now. Maybe you might take the time, and help others like me take a shortcut, and do a follow up video about the new kid on the block.
Your technical explanation is great and I have learned more this evening than I have in a while. However, to connect the HIK vision, if you just go to their website you follow their instructions, scan a couple of QR codes and presto, it is all done. Great way to do it, but you do not learn as much as you will from this video.
Hi Pat. How are you doing. Please I need your help. I am trying to add the port to my router Tenda and but I am getting an error Virtual Server Add Error Add virtual service fail, this PORT has been used in accessCtrl page. I am trying to configure hikvision. Thanking you in advance. Samraa
Dog this was absolutely what i needed! the pace (not too fast) and what you covered was great, i stayed in the flow of the tute with some pauses and boom i was looking in at my home ipcam network from the internet in less than 20 mins following all the hikvision and router details using a months free service from NOIP. Thanks again man, subscribed and liked.
Brilliant. The company who put my CCTV up set my ddns on his own account and will have shown new customers my setup. glad i seen this video and created my own ddns. thanks!!!
Philip. You did an excellent job of explaining this. Wow! Thank you so much!!! Other's have it without explanation and to me it was a little confusing. God bless you!
Way to go, fella. I don't have one of these systems, but you taught me things I didn't know when thinking about getting one. Appreciate your great effort!
hi man many many many thanks for your great video.........i waisted so many hours trying to configure my hik nvr and then with your video everything works perfect in 1h........thank you very much for sharing
Dude, fantastic video, you had answers to question I didn't even know I had until watching this. Thank you for taking the time to make this video. I will definitely be watching again.
Bro!!! You are the fucking man! I've watched countless of hours of other people trying to find out why I couldn't view off of wifi, and I watched your video, and it's all working now.. I subscribed to your channel. You are very informative. Thank you! I know so much more about this stuff. Great work!
Brilliant video. Most straightforward explanation I've seen thus far on this subject. My only point of confusion lies in Static IP address setup versus Dynamic IP address setup using DDNS in this video. Specifically, our internet service provider issued a static IP address with our business account. Should we follow these exact steps using the static IP address? Thank you.
Billiant! I have been a while looking how to access my NVR remotely, and there are zillions of tutorials that lead to nowhere. Even when Hikvision has changed its DDNS from www.hik-online.com to www.hik-connect.com and the configuration in my NVR model is slightly different from yours, I could still make it work! Thanks a lot for your GREAT video!
This is a well done video, but the hik-online DDNS service has been discontinued! Still useful as a reference and information on how DDNS works for nvr systems
Thank you for your excellent video - helped me so much - can I ask if you were replacing your ADSL router now what you would go for? I need to upgrade and would appreciate your input - have looked at the new tp-links routers and not sure which ones will allow/have the DDNS - Thank you
The best video I have seen on this topic among a huge number I have gone through. With the new Hik connect option, is the port forwarding on the router still required?
Hello Sir I really enjoyed your lecture on this video. You are very comprehensive and explain things very well. I liked this video and I subscribed to your channel. Thank you. I currently own a HIKVISION IDS NVR so this video has been very helpful.
It was a very detail and informative video, thanks. My question is, the whole process has to be done connected to the router or I can program it from another location through the internet? Thanks
Can you do a video for the HD version please? They are fairly different. I upgraded my phone and now I can't get the cameras up and running on my new mobile. I've tried to do it in conjunction with the non HD tutorials but it doesn't work. I've got 3 cameras if that makes a difference.
hi, love this info presentation. how current is this info considering how old this video is? is Hik still a decent camera considering the problems they have had. do you have a vid with the DDNS other than HIK like NO-IP
Do you have to configure the router and the both at the same to the same ddns or is it adequate to use the ddns on the nvr as some routers dont follow change in ip address
Wonderful!!!!!! It's nice video for beginners, can easily understand the basic ideas about DDNS , Port Forwarding and Mobile app Configuration. Expecting more technical videos from you :) Keep up the Good Job... Appreciate It.. Thanks for the Video
Very instructive presentation! (taking a shot in the dark for an actual reply, but) Understand this video specifically addresses NVR functionality. Is possible to have same functionality by just accessing the camera itself ( w/o nvr)?
I don't have an NVR and just edited the hikvision interface/router and VPN details and it worked fine, didn't want to buy an NVR and it worked fine. I do have to work out how to get my 2nd ipcam setup now but that's more to do with the VPN and duplicating router/hikvision settings (but not with the same port numbers obviously). Good luck
Hi! m using Hikvision DVR & m using iBall Baton router. For Port Forwarding I have this drop down box by the name 'Common Service Port'.Where u get options like DNS,FTP,GOPHER,HTTP,NNTP,POP3,PPTP,SMPT,SOCK &TELENET.Which option should I go for out of these for all the 3 ports? Port 80 Success Port 554 Connection Time Out & Port 8000 also Connection Time Out. Please help. Thanks.
Hi Can i ask a silly question im new at this the only reason we need to register a DDNS is so we can view our cameras via the web browser on our phones so if we are using the hik 4500 app on our phones we dont need to register a ddns is that so Thanks
harshad k it may be due to following issue.. 1.You need to check primary DNS and secondary DNS.. 2.You have to tell your ISP to give access or permission to open certain ports..for that u need to call ur ISP.. 3.Use DMZ Option
hi first of all i would like to thank you for the good explanation i did all you explain step by step except i have tp link instead of D link my question or my problem is that on the hik vesion DDNS web site i already opened an account and when i'm trying to add a device in the add device window after i enter the serial device number and the domain name as it is in the DVR and the http port when i click OK it came back with a message "the device is offline" may you tell me what i missed thanks for your time and effort

hi there, great video but what happened to your Dahua NVR remote view video? i was looking forwards to it but see you changed NVR. Were you having problems remote viewing with the Dahua NVR 41xxx series?
Wow! You are better then @Amcrest tech support videos! Whats wrong with these companies? Thank you so much for this! I lost you a little with ddns parts and how to double check but after a day or 2 it finally got through. Huawei routers only allowed no-ip and dyndns addresses. Could not put in Amcrests! Then Amcrest software allowed no-ip but wouldnt let me change to custom address so it was quite confusing.
thanks thanks thannkssss it great i have question if i have many Hikvision DVR how i could configure it .... have i change the port or what ??!!!! anf many thanks again
