Thanks for another great informative video! I tried the Devacurl buildup Buster and I liked it and use a deep conditioner immediately afterwards. I color my hair and use the buildup Buster about once per month. I’m afraid of stripping my color and my hair is on the dryer side. Once a week seems too often for clarifying, unless you have oily hair. My 2 cents 😉👍🏻❤️

    TIPS FOR HEALTHY HAIR:
I’ve been learning/studying about hair for the past two years. I’ve been very interested in hair and how to repair or grow out healthy locks. I want to help inform as much people as possible about how to help take care of your delicate strands.
First, it’s comes down to diet, genetics and what type of hair you have. A healthy diet can bring out the best in your hair. With genetics your hair will only grow as fast and thick as your genetics gave you. If you have straight hair, your hair can get oily faster. I recommend washing 3-4 days. Since the hair is straight it is just naturally more healthy from your natural oils because the oils can run down the strands much faster. If you have curly hair, your hair doesn’t get as oily as fast. Reason why is because the strands curl making it’s harder to run down the hair making is dryer naturally and feeling more damaged. For curly hair I recommend washing your hair once a week or a week and a half. There are ways to revive the curls by getting a spray bottle, put a small amount of conditioner or oil, and spray the hair and scrunch it up. Keep in mind for straight or curly hair, you can train your hair from getting oily so quickly, that just takes time.
Diet, you must eat foods with Biotin, Keratin, Omega 3 fatty acids, Protein, Zinc, Folic acid, Iron, vitamins A, C, E, K, and D. Those are part of the building blocks to grow healthy hair. If you can’t eat some of these foods to get some of the vitamins you need, then I would suggest taking supplement. (I don’t really suggest taking supplements if you can eat the foods because supplements don’t digest well.) Also make sure you drink water!
I recommend using pure Argon oil. That can penetrate the hair. I would use coconut oil for just your scalp because it does NOT actually penetrate the hair. Buy a shampoo and conditioner that doesn’t have parabens, sulfate, silicone, and petroleum derivatives. Do not brush hair while wet. Do not use old scissors to cut hair. I recommend a silk pillow case, silk scrunchy and a silk headband/scarf. Also use other oils, you don’t have to just use Argon oil.
What I DO NOT recommend, elastic rubber bands and regular hair ties. Do not use heat on your hair, don’t dye it, blow dry it or brush your hair roughly.
If you have any questions/concerns leave a comment!

Do you skip the hair oil the day you clarify your scalp? Also, after you clarify do you go in with your regular shampoo?

I just graduated and I was torn between keeping it curly since I’ve only been 3 months into not using heat on curls, but I decided to straighten it up for graduation. Since then, my curly hair now doesn’t look as good as it was, but not as bad as I thought. I used the sea weed hair mask from deva curl to help with the damage, and suggestions to help revitalize curls after using heat?

      maggie
      -do the big chop/monthly trims
-deep condition once a week and cover hair w/ a plastic bag to trap the heat
-make sure your products are sulfate paraben and silicone free
-do protein treatments and *DON'T* leave them for more than 20 minutes
-do scalp massages(this will make your hair grow faster while you get rid of the damage)
-practice healthy hair habits like the ones above+eat healthy
-don't wash your hair too often
      -do protective styles
      -don't stress about it
-stop using heat while it's recovering
      -don't bleach/dye until it's in a healthy stage

Hey Dana, how often are you adding the oils to your hair/scalp? And how much of each type of oil? I've been using JBCO for a few weeks, but I notice I can only do it the night before a wash day because it leaves my hair super greasy. It makes me wonder if I'm applying too much or if I'm not applying it correctly. Thank you so much!

Can you please review Kerastase Oleo-Curl. I know it has silicone in it but since curly people is already giving up heat I don’t see why silicone it’s a big deal. I live in the Caribbean and the humidity is crazy, I can’t find products that are silicone free that work for the frizz. Also please review mixed chicks leave-in. Thanks

Because it weighs down the hair and builds up. The only way to remove them is with sulfates which is damaging

I need to ask you a really important question I'm currently on a hair journey and have stopped all heat and I've recently had a good cut. Now I'm noticing alot my hair is falling out even just with my fingers through it ... when you transitioned did you notice alot of hair falling out?? I'm super scared as it looks like a dead hamster in the shower xx

    • @liddysmyth3866

I have the same problem, and probably need more advice and information. But basically, if you have curly hair, then your hair is coming out in clumps in the shower getting untangled. Instead of during the day, like straight hair.
Especially if you don’t brush your hair every day, it’ll come out in the shower.

How do you incorporate the build up buster in your wash routine and the oils! My hair falls out a LOT. I have castor oil and the build up buster, i just don't know how to incorporate these in my hair routine. I feel like I'm going bald 😩

    • @DanaGagliotti
      @DanaGagliotti  6 років тому

stephanie riveira I can do a video on how I use both! But I basically mix the Castor oil with the red pimento oil and leave those on overnight. I normally use build up buster at some point in the week.. Not necessarily the next morning. Unless you feel like the oil is a little heavy on your roots 😊
