    Made my way over to wigan a few Fridays back but just missed ya as u finish at 1230 on a Friday, was so impressed with ur citreon dispatch small motirhome, and I saw on under construction in workshop, with what looked like plywood walls with insulation in the middle i thought the walls were thicker in finished one? , with the tax import duty I would have ti supply an irish registered vehicle to you for u to convert

    Be watching this series with interest , how did you fix down the solar panel , seems there's alot of different methods about and many opinions ! What is yours ?

    • @dantheman321
      @dantheman321  4 роки тому +1

      It all depends on what solar panel you are fitting as there are different types. The one I have fitted on this vehicle had mounting brackets which is probably the best type for this van, but I can't stress enough the need to bolt and seal them properly as this could cause problems in the future. Hope this helps and many thanks for watching.

    when you put the shower wall in the behind the drives seat you will end up with a void thats just the right size for 2 110ah batterys, ask how i know.... this allowed me to put the solar mppt's on the shower wall above the drivers head position, and to run cables down to the batterys and up through the roof to panels.

    Hi Dan,
    Love all your videos! What wood do you use for the roofing? I have some of the 3-4mm vynled ply i'm about to put up but it seems quite flimsy, it looks like you use something more substantial?

      12mm boarding so you can get a good fixing for your lockers etc.

      @@KeepTheBalance poplar normally as it will stay straight but far eastern is better for moisture resistance👍

    Hi Dan. How do you generally feed the solar panel cabling into the van, do you use any existing entry points via the rear doors or?? Many thanks

    • @dantheman321
      @dantheman321  4 роки тому +3

      No but I can't remember the name of the part that comes in the kits. It basically provides an entry point that the wires pass through but it clamps to the wires with rubber sleeves to make it water tight. This then screws to the roof of the van where the hole is made to enter the van. If I remember I will try to include it in the next video but they usually come with the kits.

    Dan , 2 questions please
    1, where do you get the moulded trim panel that goes around the sliding door area ( side and top)?
    2, where do you get the foam backed leather ? Is it AS Trim?
    Cheers👍

    • @dantheman321
      @dantheman321  4 роки тому

      Hi Kevin, the moulded trim around door area is a leather vinyl that I fit to the metal, I make that up myself it isn't bought in to fit that van. The leather is bought in and then sent away again for the foam to be attached to it so it's something we have made. If you wanted some just email the office and they could sort that out for you.

    Hey dan wats ur thoughts on a vapour barrier? Big differences of opinions on this ...i personally dunno wat to do ..

    • @dantheman321
      @dantheman321  4 роки тому +2

      Hi Paul, your right everyone has there own thoughts about this subject. Going off what I been told and my experience I don't use them at all. The vapour barrier idea came from the building trade but after speaking to a few people in that trade they told me it didn't work so why it was brought into the campervan world I don't know.
      We have been building campervans and motorhomes for about 27 years now and never had a problem. As long as the vehicle is ventilated properly that works for us. We have a tried and tested method and it works and that is without a vapour barrier.
      Hope this helps and many thanks for watching

    Interesting seeing the van during the build rather than just the final tour. I notice that you have only run a positive for the B2B charger from the van battery, what about the negative? Also what size B2B are you installing and what cable size did you use for the +ve? Thanks

    • @dantheman321
      @dantheman321  4 роки тому +1

      The negative should always be as short as possible so the negative wire will be sent to the vehicle. The b2b was a 12v30amp model and the wire was 10mm tri rated.
