Jane you are going to be sooo sooo pleased with your new Camper.Dan and his colleagues always seem to do an A1 Class conversion,and by Dan showing the build at every step on UA-cam you can see no corners have been cut behind the scenes so to speak i/e the bits you cant see when the Campervan is finished.Happy camping

Just an update to say we resubmitted an application to the dvla in spring 2021 having applied more graphics and it is now classified as a motor caravan! That was all that was required as we made no further changes.

I like the way you form your inside window reveals they look great. I would like to do the same in my Ducato van, would it be possible to do a build video on it some time please.

@@mariataif we take a holiday in Skegness every year with the kids in the summer, the kids love it over there.
@@dantheman321 We had never had holidays or even visited Skegness before we moved here in 2001.But we wont move back ever to South London where we came from too many changes for the bad.Skegness since we moved here is getting more and more popular every year and they keep building caravan sites.Glad you your wife and your children love Skegvegas.

Hello iam enjoying your videos top class workmanship slowly working my way though them . iam thinking of getting a peugeot van L3 H2 ,could you tell me how you get water pipes from the boiler on one side of the van to sink on the other side . regards

Brilliant convert. Lovely. How much would that cost please. I’m buying a van and was going to converting myself but this is lovely.
Hi Dan, about to buy a similar van, Renault Master. I noticed on many of your videos that your company goes for that built in kitchen look, similar to what you get in a new house build.
What are your thoughts on the more individual builds on UA-cam using wooden panelling for the ceiling and side walls, but in various colours.
I also can't make my mind up whether to go with a fixed double bed at the back or pull out set-up in this case. What would your preferred choice be?
Also insulation, would you use something like Kingspan or wool insulation?

p.s. Forgot to ask why you don't use the more modern privacy looking windows from van pimps and similar?

Hi Dan how long does a conversion usually take as I’m up in Scotland and your down in Wigan so would need to bring can to you and then return whenever it was finished unless yous could supply a half decent van with the conversion?? Any help on this idea would be appreciated cheers Tracey

What options on interiors, like the two single beds at the rear.

Cracking job , looks great , does anyone know if these relays still share the engine from the ford transit at all ?

Yes still ford I think that's what's in my peugeot boxer 17 reg with euro 6 needs ad blu. Better engine then what was in my 62 reg . But you need water pump change around 80,000 miles and mine just had new stater motor. Iv done 150,000 miles from new .

Hi Dan, DVLA only saw fit to reclassify our conversion by you to a van with windows! They claim the exterior still looks like such in traffic! It’s ridiculous-we had even added subtle graphics. Any suggestions other than writing MOTOR CARAVAN in big letters on both sides?
When you say subtle graphics how much did you put on? Think they are looking for something quite obvious from what I've read but I have been told that the requirements will be changing again soon, what they are changing is the question. Can you send me a picture?

dantheman 321 thanks for your prompt reply. We wrote to dvla asking for specific requirements and complained but they refused to give any clarification whatsoever, just that the exterior was not sufficiently distinctive from that of a van with windows.its the lack of clarity that annoys us as all their published criteria have been met. We will apply more graphics and bide our time to see what, if any changes are made. This is surely going to affect all converting companies?
@@janesflanagan it is very annoying like you said all criteria has been met but some how it still isn't good enough. Let me know how you get on.

Will do. Fortunately we had no problem insuring it as the insurance companies have their own clear criteria and are as baffled as everyone else by the dvla!

How much will it cost to convert a camper van just like that ? Please answer
I don't have any dealings with the quotes and prices, I am primarily on the build side of the conversions. Each quote will be different as each conversion is different but I believe this conversion would have been around the 18 to 19 thousand mark. If you would like an exact figure please email the office as they will have them details.

@@selfbuiltcampervans I think it's the smev 8322 but not a hundred percent they come as a 2 burner or 3 burner and you can choose between piezo ignition or electric ignition.
