I remember having this VHS in 2000, haha. I dressed exactly like these kids back when I was a teenager late 90's early 00's, only more leather 😄.
Was outside the Astoria on a later occasion for a Cradle gig, everyone looked the same. A guy comes along, looks like an insurance salesman, reverse parking a mini into a tiny little space. Someone went, "Epic Parking", we're all watching him as he carefully angles it in. He steps out and we gave a cheer! Bloke practically shit - all of us cheering at him. He gave us a big theatrical bow and walked away grinning! - Fun times! .... there'd always be someone handing out Kylie Minogue flyers and such! Cos that's the same kind of music obviously! :)

I discovered them 2yrs after this. 23yrs later, i am still full on goth and get more so each year. Im 40 soon. Still love this band. The fans have no piercings.. how time has changed lol

My all time favorite band
reminds me of the day where i didn't have smartphones or stuff and didn't know the place of the concert venue at all. But there where goths walking a certain way. so i followed. And in the end there was an old church building with a mass of goths in front of it. It was the place where the Epica concert was. Happy as fuck. Was fun at the Manson concert too. Followed the hoard of people in black t shirts... such fun days.

Ahhh the 90's when things were hyper Uber dangerous. Still as much as they've progress, (not changed), their early material is still special to me.

Makes me sad to watch this. That venue is gone, that scene is gone, their are no more British youth tribes or anyone else picking up the mantle for a new generation. I heard fewer and fewer young people are even learning how to play instruments

I saw COF the 9th may 1995 in Paris, la locomotive. Very old line-up... true cult, TPOEMF era...we were so impressed.

A lof of them are like "oh, when I was a teenager/early 20's I was a goth, now I grew up!", typical pathetic excuse.
Well most of these kids weren't really "goths" because Cradle of Filth and the bands like them at this time weren't Goth bands, they were metal bands (granted, Black Metal but still). COF were quite huge in the early 00s where they really exploded and they naturally had a lot of teenage fans.
I was a jeans, metal t-shirt, hooded sweatshirt type of dress. Never really felt the need to be dressed up like that. To each their own though

Try their 40s....I was not at this particular show but did meet CoF at the Milwaukee Metalfest in 1997 and I am in my 40s......and still love this music.

The Goth scene still exists, just more-so online. Cradle of Filth weren't a Goth band, they were a Black Metal band. These kids here most likely didn't listen to actual Goth music and were just Metallheads, granted Black Metalheads but still.
