Installed mine and check engine lighted up... did anyone had the same incident? Not sure if disconnecting the battery was suppose to be done at first. Now I have to bring to the dealership.
the butt connectors are heat shrinkable it will hold the wires more securely and lessen the chance of the wires loosing connection nice job on the install

I bought my Camaro used with only 16k miles. I just noticed the passenger side plate is not the same as the driver side. Now I have to unravel the mystery.
Do you have to strip the ends of the grey wire after it’s cut in half, or do you just crimp the connectors to the ends? I’m going to install mine as soon as possible. They’re waiting in the garage for when I have a couple hours available.
Thanks for the installation video. My dome lights doesn't turn on when the door is open after the installation, can only turn on by press the switch. Is it suppose like that ?
I just watched the whole video and there is a problem with the way this is wired!!! Lenny put positive wire from the illuminated door sills in SERIES WITH THE GRAY WIRE, this is wrong!!! It needs to be hooked up in PARALLEL, not series!!!! May it work? possibly, but if the LED's have lower current draw, or if one LED should fail, you'll have absolutely lose all interior lights!! I put a spade lug on the end of the door sill wires together and slid it under the positive, gray wire terminal so its a PARALLEL connection! That way, if you have a single component fail. all others will work; not true of a series circuit! in other words, ALL THREE WIRES SHOULD BE TOGETHER. I've been an electrician for more than 35 years, trust me on this one. ;) In a series circuit, (like shown here) current is always the same for every component. but voltage drops. In a PARALLEL circuit, voltage is constant to every component, and current may be different. So, in other words, all of these components are designed to work with 12 volts, DC. That's not what you will have in series. To compensate for the voltage drop in a series circuit, the components will draw more current, in an attempt compensate, and really stress the components. Good luck and try to wire this in PARALLEL and I'll promise that you'll not have this issue.
did the interior lighting stay on when you spliced the wires? I did mine but now my interior lights won't turn off at all, door closed and locked, driving etc
So this is power when the door is opened, but does it have power while the car is running and off? I'm looking to use this power as another power option for lighting
I know nothing to do with wiring sills but I mean I just add extra strip light on my dash RS But keep a light on all time, if u know which wire I connect with, like when I start the car turn on not ON all time
The connection that sills use will dim after the a few seconds once the door is closed so I wouldn't be using the same connection. You would need a constant source that stays on once you turn the car on. I would say if anything, use the cigarette lighter wire.

If you are using the same crimp style connectors then yes, once you splice the gray wire, you will have to strip the ends.
Did you have to supply your own ground bolt or was it already there for another ground?
I used the existing ground
Lol I did this forgot to connect the ground plug while testing and was so confused why it wasn’t working😂
