Wow I was looking to buy my friends 97 rav4 and noticed a puddle of oil sitting in the back corner of the engine as well. Same spot, same dirt accumulated, so it was an old valve gasket! I'm looking to buy her car soon now that I know for sure that this is pretty much the only problem I saw :)
The video was helpful. It's a shame you didn't show how you install the gasket and the valve cover back on, but still thank you for taking time to make this video.
Thank you thank you thank you I’m going to try my best to do this was waiting for the last part before you cut it off but I’m sure it’s self explanatory anyways great job very well explained .
What is correct Torque setting for the 4 x Large retaining nuts, Should they first be tightened, engine run then re-tightened again when engine cold ? Also do you use any type of sealant on the new gasket ? I get different recommendations from different sites. Many thanks cossee@xtra.co.nz
There is a reason why he made the video like that. Not even halfway the work he is bs. there is a lot more to it. Can’t take that cover with out removing the side plate and throttle body
You purposely avoided showing how to lift up the driver side part of the valve cover with that bracket that is in the way and prevents removal. I think that's TRULY dishonest of you sir
