Hello. I really saw you like a toyota expert, and therefore, you might teach me one or two things. I replaced a clutch and flywheel on a Toyota Auris ( Europe ), the engine is 1NR-FE. Once complety reassemble, the car crank, start and shutdown after 2seonds. My first guess was a bad flywheel positioning, but it doesn't seems like any TDC sensor works with it. ( I don't have any default on the ECU ) If the flywheel really give TDC information, where should the arrow pointing at? Thanks for reading, if someone already had that problem, I would like to hear the answer
Inside the valve cover is another gasket generally called a spark plug tube seal that often times doesn't get replaced when people do valve cover gaskets.
I’m tempted to agree with you on both points. Most people I think do not do a pre-purchase inspection on a vehicle. I suspect they don’t want to spend the money or put up with the inconvenience. I’m afraid I’m guilty of that to my dismay.
Time, money, fomo, laziness, and even scams. In my area they put in so little gas you can't go far, and will only let you test drive for up to 30 minutes(if you even have enough gas). They will let you do pre purchase inspections and give you a nice list of their buddies who don't know the difference between a battery and a tire to give you an "honest" opinion. You obviously can get your own for generally 150-250 but kind of sucks if its a no go just to look and spend more. While yes you dodged a bullet, it all adds up. I did tons of research before buying, and yes I missed stuff(some more expensive but nothing catastrophic). Be expected to spend money on a used vehicle if you want it to last, because you aquire all the neglect from previous owners. I wouldn't sale mine now, if I did I'd lose money since I've put in half as much as buying it, but I wouldn't because they are quite mechanically sound other than a few things.
@@poorsap1598I will put in a few gallons and drive them for an 1 1/2. Even then I missed one thing. The left front motor mount on a V8 was bad. I paid $500 to get it replaced. Not like the mounts of old days, hydraulic dampening now.
Thanks as always, Petr.
Would love to see update on your project Tundra!
Upper engine motor mount, valve cover/spark plug tube gaskets, spark Plugs, and it will be good to go!
Very informative video, Peter. Thank you my friend.🇨🇦🇺🇸👍
Oh yes, it was informative. I'm always interested in Toyota maintenance. Interested to know where the oil leaked from.
I'm still waiting to find out the source of the oil leak, come on Petr, don't leave a brother hanging.
Valve cover / spark plug tubes gasket is the likely culprit.
@@TXAG81 Damn, I did not know about spark plug tube gaskets.
@@Sonoma_Coast The spark plug tube gaskets come with the valve cover gasket for most applications.
@@TXAG81 Good to know, thanks, I'm pretty new to these things.

Petr, Is this what we call a 'post-purchase' inspection of a used car?
Great video Peter. Wonder why the spare tire underneath had some fluid on part of the tire......
Thanks Peter
So you let all of that oil run into the cylinder?
Hydrolock
not nearly enough oil to hydro lock it....that oil will burn off in a a couple of combustion strokes
How did the spark plug get flooded with oil like that? What is the cause?
Thanks for the content. Love learning about this stuff

I would have sucked out that oil before the spark plug was taken out.
Of course he did that, Peter is on top of it.
Hi Peter 👋
Do you still have the Tun-Dra?🤔
Is that the dog & bone engine mount?
Wow forat vehicle and thwy are so lucky yo get this. They may not even realize how lucky they are
Hey bro !
That's a small engine for a large car, more suited for a Camry.
You should get a vehicle inspection before you buy, not after.
Don't understand why people do an inspection after buying the car?? No way I would have bought it

Gee these guys voice is weird
what is the point of commenting this
I enjoy his voice, it’s very soothing
He sounds very German! I also like it
3 inches of oil in the spark plug tubes CAN cause a hydraulic lock, if allowed into the cylinder. Use caution!
