  • Green Olive Dip
    1- 9 oz jar of green olives, diced
    1- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    1/2 cup mayonnaise
    1 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
    1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
    1 tablespoon olive brine from the jar
    Using a hand mixer, blend together softened cream cheese, mayonnaise, and garlic powder until well combined and no lumps are showing. Fold in cheddar cheese by hand. Chop olives into bite size pieces and add to mixture along with 1 tablespoon of the olive brine.
    Cover the dip and refrigerate for 30-minutes - 1 hour before serving. Enjoy with crackers, vegetables, on a bagel, or over grilled chicken as a topping. Store any remaining dip in the refrigerator in an airtight container.

    This looks delicious. I have made a similar recipe, except without the cheese. It is Heloise’s Olive Spread, which is probably 45-50 years old: Drain one jar or tin of green olives with pimientos. Save the juice. Let six ounces of cream cheese (170 grams) stand at room temperature until it’s soft. Mash with a fork and add 1/2 cup mayonnaise. Chop up pecans or walnuts until you have 1/2 cup. Chop up one cup of olives. Put them in your bowl and add 2 tbsp of the olive juice with a dash of pepper (no salt). Stir well. This will be mushy, but it is supposed to be that way. Put this in a pint fruit jar and refrigerate for at least 24 to 48 hours. It will then become thick. It is best served on very thin toast (such as rye crisps or salted whole wheat crackers); very good topped with shredded lettuce.

    My grandmother brought to the family an olive concoction that consisted of cream cheese, mayonnaise, green olives and its brine and Worcestershire sauce. I cannot tell you the measurements because we mixed it up "to taste". We would stuff celery stalks with this mixture. This was on our table every Thanksgiving and Christmas. It is out of the world good too. Thanks for another variant of an olive dip. I love your channel.

    Looks delicious. I love cream cheese and olives. Old English used to sell an olive spread with cream cheese that came in a small jar. This would be good on celery too!

    Hey Mrs. Steph!
    I love kalmatta olives, and i never liked green olives until my husband bought me a small jar of pimento- stuffed green olives, and they were really good, with a nice briny flavor. I sliced them up (they were tiny, like the size of pearl onion) and put them on my pizza, tacos, salad, and quesadilla.

    I have made a similar recipe, we didn’t add the mayo, we put ours in celery sticks.. some with black olives and green olives..
