Yeah due to Licensing Rights over the Localization, the Sky Trilogy and CS 1&2 probably won't come over, unless they're fully remade or something. Your best bet at this point is to play those 5 games on Steam. They're cheap and they'll run on a potato. It's just more inconvenient that not all the games are on consoles.

A Soft Interrupt is where you direct the interrupt register to a compiled Code Block..
The code block handles the Wait Queue in a gentle way that allows processing to continue & Ram to be accessed..
While the HDD directly writes the IRQ messages to the Code Block; The Code block is below the size of Cache on the Processor..
In advanced scenarios the Soft Int Caches Read/Write in RAM while Directing DMA & R/W Cached Cycles; Good Bioses & Software do this.
But in a processor Internals you have to call the Main Micro loops (Soft Int) in your App; & OS Task Instruction cache.

It's an ongoing narrative, so if you want the complete story you would start with Trails in the Sky and go from there.
Trails In The Sky or Trails of Cold Steel 1, I would say.

@anibal5845 c’mon, don’t change your answer now… you were right the first time when you recommended starting with Trails in the Sky, but now you’re fine with starting at any arc?? okay, fine, i guess i’ll just start with the crossbell arc without having played the liberl arc and be completely clueless about who this random pink-haired NPC is and why she and her parents are stealing so much screen time from the SSS. or no, maybe i’ll start with the erebonia arc and play all the way through cold steel and reverie without knowing who any of these returning characters are and how they can do half of the insane crap that they do, thereby denying myself any real catharsis/personal connection to the large cast, which is half the fun.
Trails in the Sky if you want to start from the beginning but that trilogy isn't referenced particularly much further on in the series...you'll definitely miss a few things but nothing super major...at least until you hit Cold Steel 4.
I actually started w/Cold Steel 1 & 2 and then went back and played Sky 1-3...Crossbell hadn't even been released in the west at that point. Outside of a couple of references you can start there easy enough. Cold Steel 3 is where the threads from Sky & Crossbell start to come together more heavily with Cold Steel 4 being the major cross over of the three Arcs.
The comments section for the Nintendo launch trailer is night and day compared to the PlayStation launch trailer for Trails into Reverie. I suggest people to give this series a fair shot and stop jumping to conclusions calling it a Zelda rip off just because Legend is in the title start with Trails in the Sky it is so dang good so far i just finished Trails in the Sky SC and soon will be playing Trails in the Sky 3rd because this series is amazing

Nice turn based battle system it looked like. I wish they would bring more of those back. All the way from 1985. Never enough of a good thing. I like how "1 false move could bring you down"!

I would recommend looking up a video, "Where to start in Trails". This is a very, very long series.
Unfortunately this game isn't the most newbie friendly. There is 9 games before this that all connect
It is a great series, though this game in particular is meant to be both an epilogue for the previous arcs and to set up the next one, so doesn't make for a good starting point.
I would recommend starting with Trails in the Sky FC, as it's the first game of the series and the best starting point. Failing that, the first game of each other arc also make good points to start the series

Trials in the sky 1,2, and 3 -> trials to zero -> trials to azure -trials of cold steel 1 2 3 and 4 ---> trials to reverie
Dude, it's a really bad idea to start with any of those three games.
Sky trilogy first, then Zero, then Azure, then Cold Steel 1-4, then Reverie.
Cold Steel 4 is the direct continuation from Cold Steel 3, and both assume you've played Cold Steel 1 and 2 as well as Azure to understand them.
Azure is in turn a direct continuation from Zero, and they in turn both assume that you've played the Sky trilogy, as some important character moments follow plotlines started there.
Finally, Reverie follows up on the plot of Cold Steel 4 and Azure, continuing the story of the cast of those games and counting on you being up to date in the story to understand any of it.

Potentially. Kinda an epilogue to the West Zemuria Arcs and maybe setting up the Eastern Zemuria Arcs.

My first Trails game, which will arrive in a few days, but not my first encounter with the Dragon Slayer series on the whole. I played two games and currently own one, while I heard about another in references.
I hope everyone who gets these games from this series enjoys them to the fullest!

My dude, this game is a sort of interlude game as it were, it follows up on plot threads by the other games and it assumes you've played the rest of the series.
I would reccomend you start with the Sky trilogy or, failing that, at least Cold Steel or Zero (though I must really recommend your starting point is the Sky trilogy)

One thing I gotta tell you though, is that while the story is mostly self contained, there WILL be characters and plotlines from the Sky trilogy continuing in Zero and Azure which won't really be explained in the latter.
Don't let that stop you from enjoying these wonderful games though, and hey, maybe that'll just make you want to play the Sky trilogy next

Is this kind of like the "Tales of" series? I absolutely love Tales of Symphonia, and this is giving me the same kinda vibe.
It's similar I played them all. Trails is my fave series now since i hate the new path tales took with arise. But before arise I rated both series on the same level of immersing story telling with amazing character backstories etc.
Not really. Trails is turn-based and besides, unlike Tales, each Trails game takes place in the same universe along the same timeline. This is the 10th game in the series and has over 50 playable characters, and it expects you to know who they all are. The only ones new to this game are the ones you saw in the trailer.
That being said, the Trails series boasts the finest storytelling I've ever had the pleasure to witness in any RPG series. I highly recommend getting in to it, but suggest you start with Trails in the Sky FC, the first game in the series for maximum enjoyment. Fair warning, it's going to seem like a pretty generic RPG the entire way through, but I promise it's not. You need to see the ending of the first game to understand.
Tales of symphonia is my favourite game and my thought is, The storyline between all games is something you would expect from a tales game, except alot more in depth. All NPCs have lives outside yours and they constantly have new dialogue depending on how the story progresses unlike most games and the characters are more developed in this series more then any other game i have ever seen (including the NPCs and Villains). It is not a franchise where the story is rushed in parts and really makes you learn about the world and it really takes its time with it. The main differences is that every game is interconnected with each other so if you miss even a single game, then you will be missing alot of context for alot of the story. Also the gameplay is vastly different, 1 is more of a hack n slack while Legend of heroes is a turn based game. The problem is it is a massive commitment. (Approx 40 hours per game x 10 games in the franchise).

I absolutely do not recommend starting with this one. It's an epilogue to Cold Steel and Crossbell arcs. Those are the minimum should be played first. However I understand if you wouldn't want to since that's 6 long jrpgs.

It's imperative to play the other games in the series first. I recommend starting with Trails in the Sky FC, but you can get away with just playing Zero, Azure, and the Cold Steel games.

nope, this is an epilogue game to the three arcs. start with the beginning of any of the arcs and it'll be fine, although i personally recommend start at the beginning (sky) because it is an ongoing narrative

This is not Zelda, this is not Tales Of. This is the 10th game of an overarching story. The One Piece of video games if you will. You can start with the Trails in the Sky trilogy, available on PC, and who can be runned on a toaster, so no excuses. Then you play, Zero/Azure duology, then the cold steel series.

The issue I've had since the late 90s to modern day on JRPGs is that that artwork is beautiful, but I see that gameplay art and is always the same. Low quality with bare minimum graphics. It's like with anime, most of Shonen is cheap quality to appeal to a vast majority but you see that studio ghibli or Madhouse studio and it makes a difference.
the lower the budget for visuals the better the story, for example games like Tales are getting more dumbed down with each entry but yet the graphics just keep getting better. And even with the west fancy looking games tend to be bad in every other way.
@@Infelious Valid point. I'm not trying to say the story of most jrpgs are bad, but coming from FF3 days as a kid and seeing the progression visually not get much better kinda turns me off. The sayings don't judge a book by its cover and first impressions matter, also says a lot about modern day jrpgs.

The Trails games are more like persona in the calendar aspect.

The trails games are very text heavy, plus they have their own NIS games and other games to localise
ps2 graphics. is it a ps2 game too or does it actually feel modern?
