I know, right? Horobi is absolutely insane in this deck. Like I mentioned in the video, I feel like this commander is possibly amongst the strongest of the set.
The ability lasts until end of turn. She's not necessarily dependent on the commander; there are plenty of other cards in the deck that create tokens. She's essentially another Anointed Procession here. You active her before creating any tokens that turn.
kaya geist hunter wouldn't actually work though, right? because the tokens get made at the untap step, and you can't proc kaya's -2 until your first main phase, because planeswalker abilities can only be activated anytime you can cast a sorcery
You can because color is also counted. So if you cast a 2WW spell with convoke and out of the 4 creatures tapped, 2 were white, the creatures basically paid for it, so you pay 0 actual mana for it.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Court of Grace was in my initial brew. When I played it, if I kept the monarch I would make angels instead which, believe it or not, is not as good as making spirits here. The card draw at the end of the turn was great, but I needed more ways to make spirits. So it was cut from the final version.
@@TheCommanderTavern What you say about Court of Grace is very interesting! I think Court of Grace would be a straight upgrade to Vanquisher's Banner though. While V.B. pumps your spirits by +1/+1 what helps justify the 5 mana is it's card draw ability. But since we only run 9 spirits in the deck the card draw likely will only trigger 1 or 2 times after our 5 mana play, since we only get the trigger on cast - rather than ETB. Court Grace will give us that extra draw every turn - is cheaper to cast, and will either get us a spirit (huzzah!) or an angel. The angel is still a token so it synergizes with anointed procession, staff of the story teller, intangible virtue, Hour of Reckoning and inspiring leader, along with all other token synergies here. You may find on, second look, that swapping these two cards will pay dividends.
@@krevin543You can definitely add it over the other one since becoming the monarch is still helpful. If you remain the monarch then you will be drawing an extra card per turn, which is still super good.
I really like your deck and I'm building it as we speak! I was just wondering about your incusion of Burnished Hart, if it is really worth bringing it instead of another powerful Spirit like Kathilda for example? Also have you seen any cards in Wilds of Eldraine that you would include in this deck? Again, really love you build and cant wait to try it out!
Thanks! Glad you liked it! I would never cut land-based mana acceleration from a nongreen deck. If you want a powerful spirit like Katilda, I would not cut Burnished Hart for it. But you could definitely find room for it by cutting something that isn't mana acceleration, interaction, or card advantage. As for Wilds of Eldraine, Moonshaker Cavalry is an obvious choice. Not only is it a spirit but it's almost a white Craterhoof Behemoth. With an aggressive deck like this one, it's a great finisher. Stroke of Midnight is also good as a secondary Generous Gift since it costs the same and is an instant. The only drawback is not hitting lands but that's okay. Apart from those 2 cards, I don't think there's anything else worth considering for this deck from that set.
Wow! Thank you for the very quick and thorough reply. I am quite new to commander and this will be my first "non-budget" deck so tips like this are really helpful. Which card would you consider cutting for the Moonshaker?@@TheCommanderTavern
@@yngveerlandsen5319 You're welcome! Welcome to the format! I'd have to look over at the list, since there's also a new amazing phase out all creatures white card that will come out with the winter Lord of the Rings product. That is yet another card that I would want to find a slot for.
yes, Galadriels Dismissal is made for this deck! Do you know if you can only get it in the gift version or will there be "normal" versions of the card printed too?@@TheCommanderTavern
Im still building a KOTO deck. The deck in the vid is interesting but I find most cards beyond my budget. Nevertheless, I would like to ask if you considered adding Katilda, Dawnheart Martyr? She can be ridiculously strong especially if you have so much spirits on the field.
I considered Katilda at first when adding cards that I liked during the brewing process. But when it came down to trim the deck to 100 cards, she was cut before I even started testing the deck. That being said, since some cards are beyond your budget, Katilda would be a great inclusion for one of the more expensive ones.
I was hoping that Horobi, Death's Wail would work exactly like that in this deck!

Horobi IMO is awesome here. It can help make your tagretting instants nuke the board except your own.
@@7swordquanta459 Yup! That's why it was one of the first cards I put in here 😈
How does Kaya's work? Because I thought the tokens would come in from King of the Oathbreakers before you can actually use her -2?

Hi, I was wandering. Is it worth including Amulet of Vigor? Since King of the Oathbreake create tapped spirits.
You could definitely consider it since it works with the commander, so it'll always be relevant in the deck.

If the tokens stick around, you can use Kaya for it.
Correct me if I’m wrong but I’m pretty sure you can’t convoke down to a zero mana cost it has to be at least 1.

Man, the voice speed is too high.
Yeah, I just talk really fast 😅
I've been told that listening at 0.75 speed helps if you find my narration too speedy.
