Really underselling how good Archeaomancer's Map is for Tameshi. It's not about ramping you, it's about allowing you to activate Tameshi as many times as you have opponents and still be at land parity with them. With three opponents you could put three enchantments or artifacts from your graveyard into play with Tameshi and return three lands to your hand to do so and then the map would allow you to put all three of those back into play over the course of your opponent's turns.
Great build, I'm brewing something very similar myself at the minute. I'm tossing up whether to go for more stax abd beats or combo leaning but it seems like Tameshi is capable of a mix. Have you considered training grounds? Nice way to discount on the reanimation ability. There's also combo potential with Sculpting Steel too - looping it and an Ancient Den with Lotus Bloom (or LED if you have one) nets you infinite mana, at that point the world is yours. Oh and if you're on Decree, you could hard lock with Solemnity. Likewose with Lavinia, Knowledge Pool is nasty.
Thanks! Glad you liked it! Yeah, there's just so many ways to build Tameshi that I took a little bit of everything that worked together in order to have a deck that could deal with as much as possible.
Good call on the temporal manipulation. The quickest way to take infinite turns would be to play manipulation, play sanctuary, put manipulation on top, activate Tameshi drawing manipulation while returning sanctuary, put lotus bloom on the battlefield, rinse and repeat. Tameshi is a lot of fun, good video
Lunar Force and Hesitation are two lower mana value stax pieces this deck could use. Does Tameshi's triggered ability only work for things returned to your hand or does it work for things returned to opponent's hands too? Because Overburden would be a good stax piece
Tameshi does trigger when things are bounced back to opponents' hands (at least once per turn). So cards like Overburden and Mana Breach are some choice cards to include in here, especially since we can just drop our lands with Walking Atlas and Patron of the Moon. That is some choice stax right there. Delectable! 😈 Lunar Force and Hesitation are also some amazing includes. Although you'd have to be a bit careful around Hesitation since it can also counter your own stuff.
Using the walking atlas combo is honestly a waste Ancient den + copy artifact + lotus bloom goes infinite as well AND adds a storm count bonus to the infinite mana and landfall which adds 3 avenues of winning Draw ya deck with aether spellbomb then thoracle Draw ya deck with aether spellbomb the BSZ your opponents 3 times Brain freeze The infinite turns loop is a good idea by itself but its a much less efficient loop than the loop we've dubbed 'mirage' (being the aforementioned lotusbloom/LED + copy artifact + ancient den loop) which allows Tameshi to be extremely fast if you get ANY of your tutors, but staxy if you dont open with the tutors you need to win but an otherwise good hand Whereas your list seems to lack a mode to go fast
Those are all great suggestions - for a cEDH deck. However, I wasn't going for such a high-powered deck. Tameshi is cEDH viable and that would be the way to go about it. But, as I just mentioned, I didn't build a cEDH deck, which is why combos (and cards themselves) are more obtainable and alluring for a lower-powered build (in between casual and competitive).
@@TheCommanderTavern fair enough! I figured it'd be a worthwile suggestion given the deck is already relatively high power, and not on the cheap end But i understand what youre going for, my cedh list (non budgetless because i will never own a timetwister) is a full throttle speed combo list
@@V2ULTRAKill Most of the expenses of the deck is in the mana base, though, making it even cheaper depending on the viewer's preference. And yeah, the deck can definitely be much more expensive considering the potential of adding Tundra, Lion's Eye Diamond, Timetwister, Copy Artifact, etc. Which is one reason I steered clear from the cEDH route, since you'd need cards well in to the house downpayment territory, lol.
@@TheCommanderTavern makes sense! I can respect it, its a very good list at doing what it does at around a mid power level. Its also kinda funny how well Urza fits in the 99 of tameshi
Maybe replace 3 of the lands for the artifact lands cause if you discard them and return with tameshi you drew a card for free and did not lose any mana for it. There is a combo also if you have sculpting steel and the lotus as well and artifact land.
Whoops sorry might have missed that part I was thinking of putting tolaria west cause of the transmute. In the one I'm making to search out certain 0 drop cards such as the lotus bloom or artifact lands for combos.
@@michaelheitz3537 Tolaria West is definitely a great card to include because you can get 0-drops and artifact lands. You can also get the free mana rocks if you're in a pinch (if you want to include any other legal moxes or Mana Crypt, etc.)
You need to slow down. Spellskite can't change the target of an equipment, equipment says "target creature you control", enemy creatures are illegal targets

1 year later and I'm still having fun with Tameshi. So many build variations to brew, play and surprise people.
I know, right? This commander has so much potential and replayability value.
Wow, nice brew! I was excited for Tameshi in vintage Bomberman but didn’t realize how much potential Tameshi has in EDH. Thank you for this 😁
You're welcome! Glad you liked it!

Yup, that's a very expedited infinite loop. Thanks for the suggestion!
You've appealed to my sick and twisted love for stax. Time for Stony Silence and Mycosynth Lattice!

I love stax as well unlike my local scene, but it's the only way to even out players who have crazy ramp and speed with expensive artifacts/lands
True, i play stax for that reason aswell
Exactly right. Green decks need to be put in check.
Not only green, but yes green go wild very quick
Hey, thanks for the video. I think you forgot to link the list though?
The decklist is in the description.
Heyyy, stax deck, love it
Thanks! Glad you do! Sometimes it's fun being evil 😈
Sol Ring + Mox Opal + Hullbreaker Horror + Panharmonicon = infinite mana and infinite bounce
YES!!!
Finaly i can play stasis again. stax is love
💯

Less relevant, but Tameshi is male.
