Hi, can you please test and try the upsiren u6 pro thermal putty as well. Since it's available widely. Seems reasonable too for a 12.8w/mk thermal conductivity rating.
I'm also curious about this one. I think it may just be the same thing as the JEYI 8100 that he tested. It looks like there's a bunch of ali stores selling the same pink thermal putty with different names.
That's a somewhat difficult question to answer. It all depends on which card and also if you go with shims or not. Most putties are around that 3-3.2 grams per Cubic Centineter. So similar densitities, so at least there isn't huge variance that way. I've listed how many grams used on some of my videos where I've replaced the stock pads. On a 3090 with putty only, I used 66 grams. When I then switched to putty plus shims I used 51 grams. I'm usually fairly generous in my application so you could likely get by with a bit less.
@@snarksdomain I understand that it is rather difficult to answer and I thank you very much for your thorough response :-) In the future I plan to repaste my Red Devil 6900XT as it has rather high junction temperature but for now I will experiment on a Sapphire RX570 Nitro+. I will be using putty only and I think that a single Jeyi 8100 package has 10g so I will need at least 5-6 pieces for a card...
@@snarksdomain I know you're probably very busy but would it be possible for you to test some thermal putties available on AliExpress? I was looking for some and unfortunately Jeyi 8100 is not very well available but there's quite a few others (possibly they're one and the same pink putty): Upsiren U6 Pro, Zezzio ZT-PY6, CX-H1300 and LK/LK-PRO.
KPT 8 is just a thermal paste, not putty. It's an ancient Soviet Union engineered organic paste from 1975, that even has E900 food additive. It's dirt cheap and dries out quickly. You don't need that shit, just don't.
Indeed. It was one of the first paste/putties I came across when searching for suitable replacements for TG-PP10 when it was discontinued. I was deep in some random forums when I saw it mentioned. I definitely wouldn't use either of the putties tested in this video. I agree that KPT-8 is closer to a paste than putty. Luckily we have some awesome putties to choose from now with Upsiren, Penchem, and Jeyi.
Thanks!
Great job!

Yo snarks i had a video request under your "the easiest way to make your own shims" video which you had said okay, is it in the pipeline or forgotten?
It's in the pipeline.
@@snarksdomain Amazing, i will be waiting especially for that one. Thanks for the efforts amd great job
Any chance you could look at THERM-A-GAP TC50 thats on digikey and see how it actually performs compared to the other cheaper options
I should get around to ordering some soon. Sorry for such a delay.
How much putty is approximately needed for a single GPU card?

Any plan to do a upsiren u6 pro test 🤔
Yes. Will hopefully post the video soon. So far it's been testing well.

@@snarksdomain What about Laird Tputty 607?
@@je5terc0re I'll add it to the list! :)
