Great version of a great song. The lady can sing and should have been a far bigger star than she was.
RIP Jim Steinman. We are so blessed for the songs you shared with us.
beautiful version.
every musical snob ive ever known would scoff at the 'bat out of hell'album....they couldnt have even listened to it. Because it's amazing, I think it's one of the greatest albums ever.
Meatloaf was very lucky to have had Steinman write for him and to have had a very patient Rundgren produce him to come up with what is a great album. It was a year in the making because Meatloaf is not a good singer despite having had a strong voice.
My this woman can sing ..bless you Elllen...never stop 💖💌
RIP Mr. Steiman and many many Thanks for all your fantastic Songs. :(
OHHH MAN!!! Memories Of This Great Person SHE WAS THE ATOM OF MY LIFE AND I MET HER IN 1980 AT BRASH'S IN MELBOURNE AT A PROMO TOUR AND I WAS PHOTOGRAPHED WITH HER SIGNING MY WORK OVERALLS AT MY REQUEST AND SHE SIGNED ALL MY RECORD COVERS ALSO WE SPOKE TO EACH OTHER AND HER EYES WHERE SO BEAUTIFUL AND BIG AND SHE WAS A FRESH FACED NICE GIRL!!!THEN HER SECURITY WHISKED HER AWAY.....AND I NEVER SAW HER AGAIN BUT SHE SURE MADE ME FEEL GREAT IN THOSE FEW MINUTES!!! HAVE A NICE LIFE ELLEN!!! AND THANKYOU!!! YOU RULE!!!
You know "she's" a dude right. You started well writing great person but then you failed by implying he is a she? WTF??? Great singer, satanist, elite invert. Grow a brain Dobell or we'll start calling you Dopey Dobell :)
You make no sense
da fuk?
😂😂😂
Great voice. Great singer. Wow.
What a lady, what a voice!
In the end there are only the songs, thanks Ellen
Totally brilliant. What a voice!!
She is up there with the best but a bit gasp, gasp in this one unfortunately!
James Sim it’s known as singing live. Note perfection is not the point it’s the emotion in her voice.
In the late 70 s, j nicknamed her the “Springsteen female” for the mate j was studying with
Here in france, not so known, she deserved better !
Thank you Ellen
Goosebumps all over , for the tune, and for the performance.
Absolutely beautiful lyrics and melody! I lost my husband very unexpectedly last year. This song touches me to the core. Thank you!!!!
Dit was Care-Amsterdam, ik was er bij, was geweldig!
Of course you mean Carré , 1980 it was . I rather would have seen her in Paradiso , to be honest ; too theatrical for me Carré is , and of course you have to sit all the time , can't move around like in Paradiso and get beer . But that's all personal preference , and glad to have seen her , good concert it was for sure....
Jim war und ist das leider weltweit am wenigsten honorierte musikalische Genie. Was für ein überquellender Fundus an fantastischen, bewahrenswerten Liedern, die hoffentlich noch abertausende Generationen glücklich machen werden!
the voice of an angel !
What a voice
Ik like this version very much. She has such a beautuful voice.
Have to love this version of Steinman's classic. Quite a beautiful and brilliant voice. Very nice. 😮❤😊😅
what a beautiful song
Nice song with a splendid vocal, what a range. A great gig too as far as I can remember

Voice like no other.
Alice Cooper
what a voice!
Völlig unterbewertet!! Fantastische Stimme
Soooo love your voice girl.
A singing goddess
correct on that one
Joe Stefko has always been listed if you read the full description. The same goes for all band members on all songs. That's the entire point of this channel.
Great song and great vocals 😍
One word, wowwww
Saw her do this in 1980 in Antwerp,...Unbelievable !!!
heavenly. . .
Magic! Just pure magic. always will be. you can take me anywhere. What a pure voice to give in to. I submit. I'm tapping, submit. What do you want of me?
The band Meatloaf should have kept her.
I feel that this is the best version. Marvin lee also did a good version as well. It's just a great song.
Ellen Foley ! Je ne vous ai pas oubliée !!!!
Great job! Thank you very much!
Beautiful song. Incredible singer. Marry me!
Awesome! Didn't know she had it in her! Very difficult song to sing and she pretty much nailed it!
Great job!
thank you for uploading🤩
One of the greatest male castrato's of our time :)
very nice
She was pretty damn good on Night Court also.
Like , very good video. Done. Thanks
this was in theater "Carré" (amsterdam)
wow
I love you🐥🐥😻😻😻🙉🙉🙉👍👍❤❤❤❤
She should’ve been a much BIGGER star IMHO!
She has an amazing voice...! I can't help but wonder what her voice type is: soprano or mezzo-soprano?
Mezzo
いい曲だと思います。以下にもエレン・フォリーらしい曲ですね。初めて聴きました。もう一つ私が好きなPhases Of Travel をどなたか、UPしてもらえないでしょうか?

22 nov 2014 live in Manifesto Hoorn !
very beautiful, almost comes close to the version of Meat.
Don't worry. Her version is just as good as Meat Loafs. Helped Meat Loaf later, as his voice waned.
Personally I thought her version was better. She sang it first, so Meatloaf covered Ellen, and not vice versa as some people think. The main difference is Ellen's voice was still about the same up to 30 odd or 40 years later. The same can't be said for poor old Meatloaf, who was a dynamic performer live when he was young, but waned badly as he aged.
Better as the original
á þetta ;)
most beutiful voice so pure jim sty picked the best shame a few years on came meathead loafer he would never of been without ELLEN
Bloody rubbish!
Biggest difference between Ellen and Meat, she can still hit her notes impeccably, Meat hasn't been able to sing in key for years.
Shhhh... ;)
Also, Ellen was on Night Court - the greatest sitcom of all time lol :)
yes , I agree!
I would like to hear any of you sing any of Meats songs the way he did and still have a voice after a month! You all would lose it forever!
Meatloaf had trouble even back when Bat of Hell was made. That's why it took about a year to make/produce that album. A lot of it was down to Steinman and Rundgren's patience and efforts. In live concerts he needed a strong female counter singer and a lot of backup singers to hide his shortcomings as a singer.
I felt like ellen was missing since the studio versions... didn't think carla was a good substitute.
WHY ALL TH ARGUMENTS, ELLEN HAS A MAGNIFICENT VOICE, SHE DOES A DIFFERENT VERSION FROM MEAT, JUST AS BRILLIANT, I JUST HAPPEN TO PREFER FEMALE VOCALISTS!!!!!!,
@marvinleeaday1 Because JS is the true talent!
well, it is not sooo bad, but i am not to cry and see the altars shine ... for me the best of this is from meat loaf. basta!
@marvinleeaday1 watch the new apprentice and maybe you'll understand ;)
does she cover any other meat loaf/steinman songs?
+Anthony Scully
+Anthony Scully she sang on the original Paradise by the Dashboard light, on Bat out of Hell
many look at the night out album from the early 70s stienman great meat loaf ha bloody ha what a joke
@@rodneybrent9227 Bloody rubbish!
Linda versão, porém, Meat Loaf imortalizou essa canção. Deus abençoe 🙏
lacks the feeling of Meat Loaf.
Christina Bennington is better - BOOH The Musical
worst song and recording EVER!!!
