Meatloaf's passing was always something I knew I would have to endure eventually but tried to push to the back of my mind. I always wanted to find a way to thank him and Jim Steinman personally for their work, in my own crazy way, but I never found the means or the courage to do so.
Thank you for teaching me that it doesn't matter whether other people think you are valuable, beautiful or talented, that you are either way. Thank you for showing me how to be passionate enough to burn the world down. Thank you for helping me feel less like an outsider, and giving me the means to find power within myself when I felt like I wasn't capable of it.
We will all miss you both, and I hope I can continue working by all the lessons you taught me.

That shit touched my soul...i started crying almost immediately. I'm still heartbroken over his loss of life. There's a few pictures of Meatloaf from the past few years that almost looks like my dad in a way. And Meatloaf was my 1st concert ever that my dad took me to.

Brought me back to my high school days. Laying in bed I had my Head Phones on (The big ones that covered all your ear). I had them plugged into the 8 track player. GOOD MEMORIES.
I did the same with my record player :) staring at the ceiling and getting lost in Jim and Meat's stories, it was priceless x
Why did you stop???? When I was about 13, Bat Out Of Hell was the only album I played. It didn't influence me musically, as I am no musician alas, but it influenced my life. Jim and Meat. And this was the song that every time ended the journey. You sang it beautifully! And just when I started to get really into it..... you stop. Still I loved it....

Very good. My favourite Meat Loaf/Steinman song. These songs from Bat, Bad For Good and Dead Ringer were a large part of the music I listened to in my youth.
The songs were never fashionable in their day…..but that’s great, as they remain timeless and still sound great in the modern era…45 years later.

I loved all his songs that he made with Jim. It was a time when songs told a story not just a hook phrase. Though for all his songs that everyone knows For Crying Out Load was the lest hyped but was always my favorite, maybe because it wasn't worn out by over exposure. There is a real interesting Ted Talk by a MIT mathematician that created a mathematical graphing representation of songs showing that the current music has less to do with the words and more to do with the brains attraction to repetition of patters in the song. Ear worms, beats and replayed rifts put into the grinder can actually be predicted if it will be successful by the patters it makes the brain wants to hear. His ref to songs like Queen's Bohemian Rhapsody is much less likely to be produced as its lacking the math to back its success.
Lets hope there are still Meatloaf's out there to carry the flag of music like this.
