Is the drumming 100% velocity a personal preference? I've been trying to make my beats more realistic by varying, but its suck a pain in the dick and time consuming
So the parts that aren’t very technical on the drums I leave at 100% because of the tone with the compression that I use. When the drums are more technical I edit the living hell out of the velocity haha it’s not bad but I played more drums than guitar so I have a decent frame of reference for how something is played irl. Even with 100% velocity I always try and slightly off center the notes so they aren’t played EXACTLY in time. I have another video on atmosphere where the drums are super nuanced and adjusted if you wanna check it out!
