Gary - this video was one of the most touching things I've seen in a very long while. The relationship that you have with your mum and your son and the way that you talk about it is fabulous. I salute you. Very enviable that you and your son can have the opportunity to team up to make what are outstanding videos. I enjoy them all. Do think that you should complain when the food is rubbish (e.g. Stein's place). I've had some bad experiences in eatting out but complaining in the right way has always put things right, espeically for future customers.

Man, that was just great. I am sure I speak for 99.9% of viewers when I say the reason I watch this channel so avidly is because I just like Gary. A decent, honest man in a cesspit of narcissism and so much the better for it.
As many of us will be fathers, I know I won't be alone in. tearing up a little to learn that it's Gary's son. I got a lump in my throat at that revelation.
All I can say is keep going. You don't need to spend 10 hours replying, although you always do.

A serious illness forced me to abandon plans to spend retirement travelling the world and savouring other cultures and cuisines. You Tube and outstanding content creators like yourself have enabled my wife and I to still have these experiences. This gives a purpose and meaning to life that would otherwise be relatively empty. Thank you. But for all the thousands of UA-camrs and video choices for some reason we settle on only a few to watch regularly and I never stopped to think why. This video nails it……you are a really nice guy and our subscriptions are to people who are genuine, honest and caring, just like you. You obviously have your share of life’s challenges but you have your priorities right and it’s so refreshing to hear of your commitment to your carers role and your son. Keep up the great video work but continue to keep that sense of balance and perspective….don’t become a slave to subscriber numbers as you will always have a loyal following just as you are. Just watched your Q&A Special with my wife, and 'as always', it was entertaining and very enjoyable. I think people watch this for two main reasons - obviously to hear about where to eat and what is on offer, but also because you come across as honest and reasonable. I imagine most would agree, but please don't change the way you provide this information and your style.

I think the reason your channel is doing well is simply, you come across as a genuinely nice guy. You are not out to bad mouth restaurants. You say what you find. That is so refreshing on UA-cam

Well put. UA-cam is rife with click bait, quick edits, fake drama nonsense. Gary is playing the long game and taking the high road. It’s about having respect for the audience and the restaurants.

Just returned from a week in America and while sat here jet lagged I can tell you that there is nothing more relaxing and satisfying than getting up to date on with the missed Gary Eats videos! This is probably my favorite video too, honest and as truthful as ever Gary but what I really loved the most was discovering that the cameraman is actually your son, makes the whole channel even more special. Get a tight grip, you guys are absolutely flying!! Brilliant, just brilliant.

Food review channels are ten a penny on UA-cam but the reason this channel works so well is because of Gary. He's one of life's good guys, which can be hard to come by, and is just so likeable. He's the kind of person that after you've spent even ten mins with them, you feel better afterwards. His positivity is infectious and he doesn't take himself too seriously. Even when he has something negative to say he's almost apologetic for it. This is why the channel is popular. Let's not forget the cameraman aka Gary Junior! Their little banter is funny and adds to the videos too. Keep it up guys 🙂
Correct Gary is great honest etc.
Unlike many who a)can't appreciate good food b)moan about quantity in cheap throw away over processed supermarket food c)winge about price etc quantity in the processed cr*p and ooh why does it take so long in oven, example Lancashire hotpot ready meal should crispy potatoes on top, idiot puts in microwave and then wonders why potatoes are soggy.
Budget supermarkets Aldi and Lidl sell fresh food erm why not cook that

I was very reluctant to watch this one ,the title “ I reveal all” might have suggested a bridge to far but loe and behold you just expose some of the inner working of Gary eats enterprises .Did I need to know these things,no,was I surprised ,yes ,will I keep watching ,maybe but there is one thing that sent a shiver down my spine ,the prospect of sponsorship on the channel to cover overseas trips ,think long and hard about it because you can easily loose the charm that exists between yourself and those of us who so enjoy the unfettered pleasure of your reviews.

Massive massive massive respect to you Gary for looking after your mum. My wife is doing the same 24hours a day up in Northampton and has been for nearly a year. Unfortunately that means because of the cost of respite carers etc. I only get to see her maybe once a month and just for a few hours. Since I’m still unable to drive on medical grounds it’s even harder. I couldn’t be more aware of your personal challenge. Good on you old fella. My respect for you has just gone through the roof. I left school to look after my nana for 6 years with dementia…every time she went to sleep multiple times a day she would wake asking where her husband was and wouldn’t stop asking till you told her he had passed away..so going through being told the person you love is dead multiple times a day,very cruel disease,but I was lucky she never forgot who I was..she couldn’t remember the day or year or who prime minister or what happened an hour a go,yet she could remember the price of every shoe she sold as 17 year old girl…so respect for what your doing with your mum,it’s hard but when you love them what else can you do but return the love they gave you growing up..
My heart goes out to you. I was thinking the same myself last week at the nursing home: how can my mother-in-law remember her childhood in the war but she couldn't tell you what she had to eat half an hour ago? It's not going to be long to get to that 100K and beyond. You're a natural when it comes to talking to the camera, and your genuine and honest warmth and empathy is a huge attraction for viewers. You're like the best mate everyone would love to have! There is a simplicity about your videos that make them very relatable and watchable. Don't go too 'snazzy', it's then viewers start to lose that connection through a diminishing authenticity. Great great work to you and your son....and what a lovely heartfelt reveal!
