When he didn't pay attention, Moon eradicated all life forms on Earth, in an attempt to be the only one left to talk to Sun, and emotionally break him through this song and the rap song he did later on. It's all coming together. Moon plans to take over Sun's position by trying to make him commit supernova.
Maybe there is still hope left. Mr. Sun could get an astroid to kick Moon into Earth,creating similar, apocalyptic, condisions like 4 billion years ago. So if the maths checks out, Mr. Sun could see new friends apier while saving the Univers from being fried like an egg.
