Thank you for sharing. Your video helped me confirm the number of fixings and screws that need to to come off my T4.
I am very grateful.
I watched your video just now as my T4 handle came off you don't need to take the door panel off you can just put your finger in to pull the mechanism back in the door then push the handle in and pop the spring wire in the grove! 😊 Hope this helps someone and saves a bit of time but thank you for the video wouldn't have been able to do it without seeing how the door works behind the panel 👍
Thanks poppy, This is the way
Thanks for the video. I discovered a simpler way. Remove the handle, and then you can pop out the latch handle trim piece by pushing on a tab that is normally covered by the handle. Then you can insert the handle into the trim piece and snap the assembly back in place. Make sure the latch bar is working before reinstalling the handle.

The inner handle just clips in after removing inner door pull cover, just the cover, no need to remove the whole thing, just loosen a bit
Mate thanks. Its simple but if you didn’t know how you’d waste time figuring it out. One thing though is stick some WD40 PTFE lubricant in the lock with the nozzle and coat the lock on the inside. Mine is so much easier to open now and that’s why I managed to pull the handle out, it was too hard to open and I was being an ape!
Just a thank you for the video!
Although I had a different issue (door leaver wasn't working because the latch bolts were loose) it made it super easy to take it off 👍
I have to say you sound like Leo Moran from The Saw Doctors !!!!!
Just what I was looking for !!!
Thanks so much
Spot on thanks, can get out my van now without having to wind the window down and use the outer handle
Ah yes, I left it like that for a few weeks before I fixed it, rolling down the window or going out the other door!
Thanks for that
1 . you dont need to remove door card to fix inner handle, just push sping in when refitting from inside, to go behind the two small guide channels in the handle!
2.you should not need pliers to remove the grey plug, push in a 2.5mm allen key, and turn anticlockwise.
I wonder have you posted a video on how to do it?
Note that on a T5, there are some screws behind the speaker assembly that need to be removed as well. I broke some clips trying to remove the door panel before realizing this...
Thanks Craig! very helpful, that was the missing bit on my Caravelle. Remove speaker, then the assembly and voila! the whole panel just lifts off.
Hello the electric mirrors do you know how these work, I have the little buttons all fitted like yours but they don’t know Work
Yes, they were one of the first things that went wrong on my van over 10 years ago! the glass mirror snaps into a weak plastic motorised gimbal, this is the bit that rotates when you push the buttons. Both of mine have broken again so I just push the glass mirror until it is in the right place and leave it! If you want to see what is going on and why your sis broken first see if the wires are connected, you can use the directions in this video to remove the door card to do this. there may be no wires, and you may have aftermarket cheaper mirrors that you adjust by hand. I would prefer these! If there are wires and they are all connected then press the buttons and listen for clicking or motor noises. if you have these then the plastic gimbal may be broken. If no noises then the motor may be broken. Good luck, let me know how you get on.
Wrong! It is possible to line it up, see below.
