- Today I'm making a few changes to the front door interior panels. I'm fitting new door handle covers from Retro Retrims, which are finished in black vinyl and blue stitching. I'm also refreshing the window winders and door release catches with new black coloured fittings.

Just in case you have a speaker in the door, there are 3 more screws behind the speaker, that will allow for door card removal!

The handles looks so good, nice work! The problem is that the rest of the door trim is still in the 50 shades of grey plastics style VW chose.

Thanks for the suggestion, I'll add that to the list. We have "puck lights" for our main lighting, but we also have a dimmable accent light in the shelf above the kitchen area.
Any tips on recovering the door cards and dashboard??

Note: if you have a Eurovan (Winnebago) camper for us folks in the U.S., you will first have to remove the speakers in the door in order to remove the door card!

Good idea wrapping the handles. I bought some after market handles in grey for my caravelle but upon pulling the door catch they kept coming unclipped. So back to the originals. I wander if you can source the caravelle electric windows kit from someone like Calicampers? I think much nicer than the manual handle. Keep up your vids and the t4 going.
Thanks for the comment, yes we too have noticed sometimes the aftermarket door catches come loose from the panels. As for the electric windows, you can get "new" electric conversion kits that include the original style switches, although I'm not sure how much work that would be to wire up :)

Thanks for reaching out. On this van we had the seats professionally re-trimmed, although on our T5 project build we have seat covers from Transporter HQ that we will be showing in a future video.
