As I have said many times before, when you try to design and build something over a period of 20+ years and change every single component numerous times except for one then it is obvious where the fault lies. Managers and players come and go but there is one consistent factor to this formulae for failure - Daniel Levy.

We’ve been POOR since February, 8months later nothings changed… the players clearly aren’t buying into Ange’s tactics, and his lack of flexibility is really starting to hurt us. Very astute analysis Savva, of what is going on at Spurs. You are spot on regarding Ange living off the first 10 games of last season, its was quite remarkable how fans and media lost their minds at that time. That run of games elevated Ange to cult status and gave fans false hope and expectations, also fueled by by the man himself with his talk of challenging for the title. What is really interesting is the way that despite the fact that the wheels fell off after the Chelsea game and just about every other mangager sussed Ange out and the subsequent decline fans are still faithful to their new messiah. The facts you present are incontrvertable and obvious and yet some fans will refuse to accept the facts and the truth. I almost feel sorry for Ange as im sure he came in believing his methods would bring success , but this is the premier league and it must be dawning on him that he is out of his depth. What I cant forgive though is the bullshit he comes out with which perpeptuates the delusion along with his refusal to adapt and change.

Hi Savva Answer to your question - Ange needs to abandon the current system. Play full backs as full backs, our wingers are not good enough, use the full backs to create, bring the width, crosses etc. formation 4-2-3-1. Son inside left forward- bring moore into the team on the right - Maddison number 10. He’s won’t do it those Savva, he will die on his sword playing the way he wants, great question those- he’s needs to change something quick, or he will be gone.

@Savva, I appreciate the stats. Those are not from being unlucky. Chelsea was unlucky. After that, it has been the constant "we possessss the ball" with nothing to show for it. Vic to Romero has been more detrimental to our offense than Brennan Johnson and Timo, and I do not say that in jest. We have out possessed every team averaging over 60%, yet we are being outscored by just about every team within the context of having the most possession. It is called possession without progression. Romero is a black hole with the ball. How many times, he takes it, walk it 15 yards to make a 5 yard pass, and then the ball ends up with Vicaro. That is our possession stats right there. Never had he tried to hit one over the top to move the defense and make the keeper adjust his starting position.
I never advocate for 3 at the back, but I have come around to believing Ange is playing the full backs high and inside why not go to 352 to allow the fullbacks/wingbacks to provide the width and play to their strengths without compromising the defense. That tactic will force Udogie and Porro to stay wide, so now you can use any number of players as the inside forwards from the left or right. In addition, you will now be defending with 4, including the holding mid. I think that is what most reasonable fans are asking for, although I, as a coach, can get the same formation even if I started with a 433. By slipping Micky or Romero out wide, one of the fullbacks must sit in.
The fact I have not seen that variation in tactics tells me Ange is clueless.
And for the people who still want to blame Levy for what is happening on the pitch. Wind their neck back in. Not because we think Eze would make sense, and Ange said no. Levy can't and should not convince him otherwise.
I will question Ange all day on tactics or whether he is capable of recruiting great talent. You can't say Gil is surplus, then sign Oderbert.

Wake up, Levy knows this now, he knows that terminal gullibility has set in among the majority of fans and he can play this scenario out every 18 months with almost synchronized precision.
Btw Conte top of serie a with Napoli. Jose top with Fenerbache. Nuno "out of his depth" Nuno flying with Forest. They were all the problem apparently, flawed tactics, unable to adapt etc, just like Ange is now.

I always thought that "Ange ball" is not viable against PL top half clubs. I think by now our best players are seeing this and that has effect on their performance. I get it about " the trust in project/process" approach, I just do not trust Ange to be in charge of this project. Stubbornness, illusion of grandeur and naivety are not qualities defining good "project manager"

The first season was the first season. I think most of us were willing to give Ange that period to bed in his way of playing. The final outcome was possibly a success. Europa League football, the negative being we had a big chance for more, but as I said earlier many of us have Ange the first season to bed in.
This season, I don't think you jump in and sack him right away. It's a new season, other teams improve, we do have new players in the squad and we should expect there to be some tweaking. I therefore would want to give him 12-13 games.
What is concerning is a lack of balance or protection in midfield. We didn't replace Hojbjerg, and we're not using Bergvall or Gray. I don't see the tweaks at all, so unless they are minute (or so brilliant we're not noticing) they're not happening. Maybe Solanke will come good, he could be a key ingredient. Just two games and I do think he gave us an extra dimension v Arsenal, but service was non-existent. If that comes, he could start banging goals in. The NLD was crying out for early crosses at times but they didn't come.
Possession, I think it was said we have the highest possession in the league. Is that a minute adjustment improving that aspect of play or are teams just setting up to counter us or score a set piece goal. Positive me says it's a tweak, it's a small gain, but negative me says teams know how to beat us.
Overall, what I'm trying to say is don't press the sack button too soon, but we have to be clear, it's there and may need to be used. I agree, without tweaks, changes in formation, using players differently, Ange is making a rod for his own back unless he quickly gets us winning and winning well. I'm currently Ange in. What makes me Ange out? 12-13 PL games of this season, not being in league cup and doing poorly in Europa, no evidence of tweaking and no improvement to league results.

It seems we learned nothing from our disastrous summer 2019 transfer window!! We’re not in a position to be buying for the future, you do that from a position of strength. We should be buying ready to go players are then when possible, blood youngsters like Liverpool do. We have spent 70m on wingers with who don’t or won’t go past there man, 40m on gray who might come good in a few years and the worst spending about 20m on wages and fees for Werner who is also quick but can’t beat a man. Like last season we look like we’re never going to score against a half decent team, clueless in the final third. All good teams are built on a solid defence. Vdw is quality but Romero although plays great for most of the game, gives a goal away every week while the full backs give the ball away and fail to stop crosses going into our box. And that’s before we even discuss the midfield where he chips and changes every week

    Hi Savva,
Many Spurs fans are saying Postecoglu will be gone by Christmas. I say get him out now!! Why wait any longer? Quite clearly he is completely out of his depth in the Premier League. The guy is clueless to be brutally honest. When he goes take the entire coaching lot with him including Mason. What a bunch of absolute losers they are. I am totally fed up with this lot. How can he play so called attacking football when he knows only one way of playing. No defence at all, no tactics no idea, the nan is utterly useless mate.! Vicario is a joke, Maddison is useless, Bissouma is c..p, I could go on and on. If the so called manager thinks he will win trophies with this lot he is in for a rude awakening. Archie Gray cost 40 million and can't even get on as a sub. As for Werner the less said about him the better. Savva, I could cry for my beloved Spurs right now, the manager has got to be put out of his misery now not tomorrow. There are plenty of world class coaches out there who would crawl to to Spurs. Personally I would go for Thomas Tuchel but he wouldn't work with Levy and he wouldn't fit in at Spurs, also he is another ex blue. I also like Edin Tersic ex Dortmund and the current Stuttgart boss Hoeness. Just saying.

Yeah, Im not at all a fan of the "We will concede goals, but we will outscore the opponents. Its fun watching Brazil play like that in a world cup against Nicaragua. But its not a prem thing.
Im told Im one of those supporters that is impatient, thinks success happens overnight, all I care about is trophies. The amount of times Ive had to tell people that they are arguing with somebody else, that isnt me. I loved our time under Poch, Id have that back now if I could. You loved the players, the manager felt connected to the club, the football was fun to watch.
We didnt win anything, but it was still enjoyable. Thats what I care about, I want to enjoy watching football. Andf this stuff is not at all enjoyable to watch.
As Savva said, that comment is a bit sunday leaguish. I want to see managers playing a game of chess with each other, figuring out ways to get past their opponent.
Throwing your hands up and saying "Defence, nah mate, thats not what we do, we are an attacking team." Its just not very premier leagish.
