I tested pistol bits auger with center pin, found it's difficult to use due to the pin is a bit longer that I have to consistently press down the auger during the whole cutting process. Is the center pin in 2.0 model removable?
is it to much to ask for a 4 in 1 or 7 in 1 type jacket and bib/wader set with all the bow hunting, tactical and ice fishing features like good fit, camo, waterproof, windproof, zipper under arm, side arm access, silent fabic, harness port, stretch thumb hole cuffs, hood and neck gaiter, tactical pocket placement and float tech or do we have to keep buying seperate items? Should fix that imo...and why arnt shelters lined with mylar or some heat reflective material? Itd save weight and cost no?
Honestly I think it is personal preference, there are a ton of options and there are pros and cons to each. Clam, Otter, Eskimo, Rapala, Catch Cover, etc. I literally have some of each. And I totally agree with you, it is a pain in the butt having a ton of mixed mounting systems. If I could only have one, I probably would go Eskimo or Rapala
Alex, what is the meaning behind the new Eskimo 3 HD vs the eskimo 250XD? Do both tents have the same insulated fabric? The XD has storm shield insulated fabric and the new HD has IQ insulated fabric.
Good question. Storm Shield is the best fabric Eskimo has, IQ is a step down. The HD is a bit more of a basic unit with some upgrades from the old 3i series. Lightweight and easy to move around, but not as warm. Other differences between the two are: 250XD has 6 sq ft larger fishable area, it is a bit wider (8") but 3" less height than the 3 HD, the 250 XD also has 7 windows vs the 3HD only has 4
I had a 6 inch pistol bite sold it and got an 8 inch razr synthetic lite, it's fine but heavy. Would prefer the 8 inch (or maybe even 10 inch) pistol bit instead
Need info, i run a clam plate with gear box +10"lite flight, (strike master), should i go pistol 10 or alpha 10? Since it spins slower, up in canada 3 feet of ice isnt uncommon
My two cents- If you’re drilling through 3ft of ice consistently with a 10” auger, I’d go Alpha. Either will work, but the Alpha will have significantly more power than a cordless drill moving that much ice.

I'm an eskimo snob so this makes me happy.
I like the square windows on the hubs.

Real question...which accessories are better overall, Clam or Eskimo? I don't like mixing accessories, I'd like to stay one or the other

@@AlexTimm Thanks for the breakdown sir!

I run an 8" pistol bit on a geared clam plate with a milwauke 2904. Used to run it only on the drill but the factory handle is stupid.
Pick up the Pistol Bit 2.0! I think you'll love it. I'm planning on buying an 8 and 10" this year myself
I just bought the 10inch and I can't wait to use it.

If continuing with the clam plate and gear box, I'd go Pistol Bit 2.0 10" for sure
