As a 15 year old Australian, I love ALL of Peter Allen's songs. He is one of the best and most underrated Singers, Songwriters, Pianists, Musicians and Entertainers to ever live. REST IN PEACE LEGEND! Gone far too soon. 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

Fabulous ...i have special memories of the very first time i went to America and home again....This song is so automatic when you fly into Sydney. The tears always well up and makes me very proud of being an Australian.We need this more than ever, to be more heartfelt in these crazy times and its beautiful that Peter still reminds us.

The Arts Centre Melbourne has The Peter Allen Collection for everyone to see online!
What a collection!!! A lot of his clothing from different concerts are there, even his maracas!
@@TheMusicMagicofPeterAllen The collection included a book on rhyming words that he would use to create lyrics. All of these and video clips were on display in a major exhibition supported by bands playing his songs. You could even buy replicate shirts of various designs. This festival took place next to the Hall where Peter performed in front of Charles and Diana.
How cool is that - a rhyming book and shirt replicas!!!!! I want a shirt replica! It's not the real shirt, but who cares!!!! I wonder if the Arts Centre has an online gift shop that still sells these shirts!? Probably not, but it would be nice if they reissued them for the 30th anniversary of his death coming up this year.

I remember hearing the news of his death. I was boarding a coach and it came over the midday news. I was just 18 and I jumped off the coach to tell Mum one of her favourite entertainers had died.
It must have been a very sad day.😔

I went to his last concert in Brisbane in the 80's or maybe early 90's? with my mother, and it's a lovely memory with Mum. We moved later to better seats because there were a lot empty , and as a 7 yo I remember thinking why isnt it full. Of course, I didnt mind! Now being nostalgic, Peter Allen was not appreciated and followed for the talent he was because he was gay. Times have changed , but i feel sad for him, he was not treated with respect that he deserved. An Australian icon that lives through his music.
He wasn't treated particularly well by the press and was and still is ignored by the media and general public.
