My zxt 61 has 460 hours on it, runs like a beast.. Just did the 500hour oil change only thing that went bad was a blade belt needed to be changed, but thats common to have to change from time to time.
I’ve bought my new ZXT in Oct of 2023. I was itching for another new mower. I’d bn watching the UA-cam vids of the Wright, & I found my closest dealer was 50miles from me. It really is a great value for the money! I currently have a ‘17 Ferris 3200, & it’s my spare/back up mower now. I’ve owned 3 different gens of Bad Boy, & I am a fan! But, for 2023 the Vanguard wasn’t offered, or limited offering, on the Rogue. I had owed the ‘19 (1st yr) Rogue, & it had all the 1st run teething episodes. I traded it for the Ferris. Still absolutely loved the Rogue though! I bought the ZXT because of the Vanguard & trying to keep my open mindedness. As soon as anyone plops down on the seating system, it’s got that awwww, effect! But after using it, it’ll beat u to death? I’ve gotten used to the smoothness of the Ferris & Bad Boy. I’ve lost productivity due to speed of mowing loss. You can’t mow as fast over rougher terrain, due to deck bounce & roughness of the ride. The seating system works great on the dips, but the ordinary jars of tree roots, car/truck/tractor tracks, it’ll beat ya up & cause the deck to bounce. The suspended machines takes away the jolts & jars, that cause the driver issues. & which case holds the deck out from being bounced. I run 72” decks on all my mowers. My mowing is focused more on 1-5acre lawns & areas, cemeteries, & city mowing for a small town. The 1-man show is a time is money while maintaining a good cut quality is my thing basically? My biggest gripe on the ZXT is how low the rear muffler guard is to the ground also. I hang up on every drainage ditch or sharp incline. I either have to tackle those at an angle, or by momentum? It’ll hang up the rear, & it’s just freewheeling in place. I also use my trailer & ramps to remove the blades. That lower rear, it’s a struggle to use this method with. I currently have 170-ish hours on the mower. It’s held up great so far! No complaints there at all! I’ve threw the short belt 2-3 times & the drive belt once. Mainly gum balls from the Sweet Gum trees. The deck belt is fairly easy to re-install. The drive belt…. It’s tough n the field!! You have to block the machine up to reach everything. I’ve had these belt issues on every mower I’ve ever owned, including the garden tractors. So, that’s not tied to a specific mower? It’s just an issue of the gum balls getting caught between the belt & pulleys, & wedging it off? It is what it is? But, I know this was a longer comment. It’s hard to do my personal experiences in a brief synopsis w/o the reasonings behind my accounts. Great vid btw!! Thx!
@@Ccwm7089 all good. Keep adjusting that seat. I have the big spring under the seat like in the middle position then the rider seat adjusted a little more than my actual weight. Works great for me. Yes you’re right about the bumps. But it’s a hell of a lot better than just the suspension seat. The Ferris I drive was awesome and super soft on the bumps. I just wish it had a lot less maintenance like the zxt does. I definitely would have got it then. But with all the stress we have in our business the less stress we can have in our life the better so that’s why I went with that zxt. Having those run flats in the front in the back are big help as well not worrying about what PSI wear something. I also would’ve added on the Ferris if I got it, but with all these restrictions on manufacture warranties, I didn’t know what was happen if I put run flats and then bust a spring. What would the warranty department say. So less stress less mess lol. Have a great one. Feel free with any other questions
Yup I agree. Only issue like I mentioned in the video there might be an issue with warranty if you were to put run flat tires on the front. Ferris comes standard with air filled tires.
Excellent comparison and your are right ( No Pun ) Bang for the buck you can not beat a wright mower. The ease of service in the field, so much less maintenance. the ride with the "Long ride suspension is right up there for comfort for the rider as the Ferris is. I have demoed both and they are so close you can not tell them apart. The pump and wheel motors vs the ZT 5400, there is a difference. the pumps and wheel motors are more responsive., and easier to service with a spin on filter. Try to service a transmission belt on a Ferris 3300 vs a Wright ZXT in the field, by the time you finish on the Ferris, the Wright will have finished the lawn and you are on your way. Please do not take what I said below, that I was putting down Ferris mower in any way. Ferris makes a excellent mower and they cut beautiful. Just pointing out they all have their faults. To say one mower is better than the other, it is completely personal preference. I was speaking from knowing that I did my homework and my personal preference is Wright mowers. I was a Exmark guy for years, only for the fact that was my closest dealer and 20 years ago. Now there all kinds of dealers everywhere and more choices than ever. Not to say that Exmark is not a good mower either. They are great mowers. I am trying to say with mowers costing big $$$ you have to do your homework and find the Wright mower for your business needs. Mine after 20 plus years in the business, 3 crews and 11 mowers later the choice is clear. Bang for the buck, innovation, technology, ease of maintenance, comfort, smart design, cut quality, and a Company that truly cares about there product. One choice Wright mowers!!
Hello. Has about 30 hrs on it. So far so good. Adjusting the rpm’s made a huge difference especially with the 40 hp. Doesn’t boggle down. Nice clean cut. I made another video to see cut quality and some other comparisons to the Ferris. Have a great day
No worries. Greatest part of starting each day is opening the trailer and not worried about have a flat on any of the tires. No matter what property gets done. At the end of the day no problems on what you ran over. Just gotta worry about keeping blades sharp. lol. We have enough to stress about in the lawn and landscaping business.
I get it. The pump and motor on this machine is more heavy duty then the 5400 on the Ferris. I have another mower with the 5400 pumps. No complaints. This all around was more heavy duty and less maintenance. The zxl that wright makes have the 5400 pumps. It’s cheaper but doesn’t have the two part suspension on seat and has smaller wheels. 24s instead of 26s. it easier to go up curves at some of our commercial properties because of the bigger tire set up. Hope you’re having a great holiday.

@@Ccwm7089 hi there I had the shop where I bought the mower do it.
Main reason for a Ferris is the four wheel suspension system
