Great video! I can't wait to see what decision you make between these two mowers. Both are great choices, so you can't go wrong. I have a 72 inch deck and I love it.
I just bought a zd1211 with a 60 inch deck. I am currently in the process of switching out the rims so that I can put on the versa turf tires. With the stock turf tires it does pretty good. But, I am looking for a little better traction.
Nice video! My Ferris 3300 has been in the shop 3 times in a year for ignition issues. First time, it was because Ferris used a 15 amp fuse instead of a 20 amp that kept blowing when attempting to start. Then the harness connection came loose requiring around 10 start attempts before it to start. I love the suspension, but I always have a doubt it will start after so many issues from a brand new and expensive mower.
I know my solenoid has been replaced but still engages slowly...and now my clutch has burned up...I'm with you but the suspension is awesome. We'll see what I get. This Kubota's are so solid.
@@maraudermitchelli I did see that your solenoid was still acting up in one of your videos, its the same thing going on with mine that I was told was a "loose harness". We'll see how it goes. To be fair, I also have a Ferris FW35 with a sulky that i've had since 2018, I've never had a single issue with it. I was just hoping that experience would carry over to the 3300. Not having silly issues was what justified the expense of getting the new 3300, just a huge let down when the problems started right off the bat. I've had my deck clutch & bearings burn up on a Hustler Fastrak I still have, so I wouldn't be too concerned about that with heavy use. Curious to see what you go with (I kinda hope it is another Ferris), keep up the great work & content!
Nice zero turn Pete, I really want one but it's too nice for my bumpy lawn full of tree roots. Else I DID get a Kubota product recently, I bought a Landpride RCR2672 rotary mower for my little 48.3Hp tractor, and it mows so flawless due to its heft and blade tip speed.
Ron I hope you are well. We have a Landpride rotary mower and it’s been abused for years and still works well. I’m disappointed in the Ferris but I’m told the pto clutches were out on mowers. These kubotas are brutes boy but the ride is brutal compared to the Farris. Ride safe and in peace my friend 😊
ive used all sortsof mowers i like thestuff that husgavarna makes riding wise, all are good just i dont like the ones you stand on and drive they just feel unsafe tome.great channel and great footage. ive also rodde that one you were on its a beast
@maraudermitchelli I just looked up and yea it was $500 for the clutch couple months ago. That one was just making noises when not engaged. 2020 ferris 3300. To it's defense, mower had 2300 hrs. My older 3200 had its clutch melt solid and did take the plug ends with it. I cut the mower end off and redone a factory style plug on it i got from dealer.
@@denniseft6460 thank you I figured the had to have plug ends. You’ve been a big help. So nice you commented I need to make a decision tomorrow. Kubota is tough but nothing rides like a Ferris 😊
Hey Pete !! Long time !! Say you can't go wrong with a Kubota zero turn ! Like you said built like a tank ! The only problem you will have is in the spring time when wanting to roll your lawn or even just the first EARLY cutting !! You will get that machine stuck every year maybe multiple times ! They are not just built like a tank. They're heavy like a tank. So I ended up with a John Deere at almost half the weight and with wide tires I can go right over soft / wet spring ground that just me walking I will sink into the ground ! My Deere will "FLOAT " right over it ! Yes I power wash the mud and grass off of her after to keep her clean but have only gotten stuck once trying to push the limits going thru standing water in a very low saturated spot !! But of course I had to try !! Lol !! Great video thanks !
Oh curt I know that's why I did not buy the Kubota the first time it's just so heavy and my property gets so wet. But the Ferris was around 1650lbs and the Kubota 2100lbs nuts! Thank you for helping more to come. Mow safe.
I have a zd1021
Put tweels on my machine made a world of difference
Stability and traction, especially on Hills. Plus, ride comfort
Tweels are great...for some reason I did not select them. I'm glad they are working well for you. Mow safely and in peace.

I'm definitely getting a 72" deck no doubt on that. Thank you you'll know soon. Be safe.

You have a great machine it's a monster. Smart move with the versa turfs they really help. Please email me a picture with the tires on. thank you

Husqvarna's are great I agree with you...I love their motorcycles. I have to make a choice soon. Mow safe.
My father has a Ferris...for a professional machine, he has had too many issues with it as a homeowner mowing 2 acres a few times a week.
I'm sorry...I guess it's common for the clutches to go on the mowers...it's part of mowing I guess. I hope your dad doesn't have any more problems.
PTO clutch for the 3300 is around $375 and not hard to replace. Been there done that.
Dealer said $485….did you have to replace the wiring harness my plug melted? I appreciate your help 🙂

Kubota will probably beat you to death compared to the Ferris. What about the price for the Kubota?
Agreed. ZD1211 is only 2k more, the ZD1611 is 6k more than the Ferris. Thank you mow safe and in peace.
Did they allow you to test drive it first?
I asked for a demo cut and they agreed. I think most serious equipment companies would I did the same with my previous mowers. I hope you are well 🙂
