Happy was played at our wedding in 2014. My husband passed away 2 years ago from cancer, but, hey..... Listening to this helps me remember him and the happy times we had together❤️
Back in the day, my boyfriend and I, a couple of dedicated hippies, lived in an apartment building right above a neighbor who didn't want us there so she played James Brown records 24/7 to annoy us. We used to be very careful to look disgruntled when we walked by her apartment to make sure she would never figure out how much we liked James Brown. We put a big mattress on our floor so she wouldn't hear us dancing to her music right above her
Reminds me to the the time I had to threaten a neighbouring college student to turn down his music. When I told him I would knock once an hour during exams. he shut up. Police had a talk with him and explained about fines. What a hoot.
I agree with don't stop me now. But I think one of Queens most upbeat songs is little known...Good ole Fashioned Loverboy. Have you heard it? Also a tune that I think should be on the list is probably the most popular songs during the Christmas Holidays every year...Mariah Carey's, All I want for Christmas is you. I'm not really a dancer, but it's hard to stay still every time I hear it.
I remember my sister and I were at a Temptations concert and we wanted a cigarette so badly. She said, "Let's wait for a bad song and we'll go to the lobby for a smoke ", and then looked at each other like, "Yeah, right. Like the Temptations ever sang a bad song". We waited for a song we didn't know all the lyrics to and joined a crowd of smokers in the lobby. When the first seven notes of My Girl started, everyone in the lobby silently looked at each other, threw their cigarettes and stampeded back into the theater! One of my best concert memories!
Dancing Queen one of the most memorable in my opinion ABBA songs. I used to listen to this on repeat with my sis when we had the CD player working while we had the ABBA collection. It's still there after all these years
Exactly. I get depressed a couple of times per year but listening to Whitney sing about dancing with her love brightens my spirits. One of my favorite songs of all time.

What a bunch of wonderful songs to get your toes tapping..I have to say that #3 is special to me because 21st of September is my parents wedding anniversary, the day I purchased my home and the day my first grandchild was born. We sing that song on her birthday..It truly is a special song for me..along with so many of the others that you showed here...Thank you...

Culture Club's song "Church Of The Poison Mind" because of it's driving Motown beat gets the nod. Additionally Wham's "I'm Your Man" also fits the bill. On UA-cam Boy George performs a medley of the 2 songs together.
You must be too young to remember the original "Twist and Shout" by the Isley Brothers -- look it up. I'm a Beatles fan, but the original has them beat on this one!

"Don't Stop Me Now" is one of yhe best songs ever written. Even the version at the end of "Bohemian Rhapsody" starts somewhat sad, it ends as fun as Freddie Mercury himself. It will always be #1 in my heart
Minutes after my newborn daughter was born, I found myself holding her while she cried, as one does. In my wish to convey my assurance to my bewildered baby girl, I found myself softly singing, "Three Little Birds," as she slowly calmed down. I never wanted to stop, and apparently neither did my daughter... or her little sister after her. Almost a decade later, whenever they need Daddy to help through a truly tough time, they will ask me to sing this song to them. It still works...
Fun list! for mine i'd add, "Taxi Mary" -Jo Jo Zep feat. Jane Clifton. "Groove is in the Heart"- Deeelite. "Love Shack "- The B 52's. "Can't Stop the Feeling" Justin Timberlake. "Hey Music Lover'- S'Express.

For the Moodys for me, Your Wildest Dreams/I Know You're Out There Somewhere. Those two got me through a rough 7 years of losing contact with my half sister. Especially in the last few months, when I found an address online that "may have been hers" Spoiler, It was! I know the meaning(s) Justin Hayward intended for the songs was someone who was uselessly chasing after a girl.
"Rock & Roll" by Zepplin, "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC, "Dance the Night Away" by Van Halen, and "Jackson" by Johnny Cash/June C. Cash are just the tip of my musical iceberg to make me smile.
I think, Steven, although I'm not medically qualified, it is physically impossible not to sing along to Sweet Caroline!! Just sayin ' Kind regards from the UK
@@whenfatkillsfat803 Oops, sorry Alex, I was treading into very important matters, of which I wasn't aware!! I can only apologise lol!! Kindest regards from the UK
Shakira & The Queen never fail to put a śmiałe on my face. Sweet Caroline also makes me feel good. Happy brings me back joyful memories as once I sang it with my class at a school show.
Five songs should have made the list 1. Beautiful Day U2 2. Lovely Day bill withers 3. Maniac Michael Sembello 4. Lean on Me Bill Withers 5. Rhythm of the Night Debarge 5 more honorable mentions should have been mentioned 1. Break My Stride. Matthew Wilder 😃- love this song for as long as I could remember! 2. Mr Wendel. Arrested Development 3.I can see Clearly Johnny Nash 4. Oooh Child -the five stairsteps 5. Good Time- Chic
That's one of those songs that you just HAVE to dance/sing along with. Even if you only do the Y part, you just HAVE to do the dance a little. Same with "Sweet Caroline". You can't help but sing that part of the chorus, and the little musical part after.
It always amazed me that "Don't Stop Me Now" never reached higher than 86 on the US charts. What a great song. Only the inept marketing by Elektra and some homophobia kept it down. Thankfully, it's now embraced as the classic it truly is.
I feel the EXACT SAME WAY!!!! He may be gone physically, but he NEVER TRULY DIED!!!! He’s still with us, just not physically anymore. 😢❤MJ!!!!! His spirit will NEVER die!!!!!
The only song from Mary Poppins I don’t like very much is, “Feed the Birds” 😢 Makes me cry every time. Especially when the Old Bird Lady is gone. The rest are, Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!
All these songs make me feeling great! I personally love" Dancing Queen," Careless Whispers, "Wake me up before Go-Go,. "I Feel Good, i play when cleaning my house.
Very solid list. I'd add 'Down Under' by Men at Work, 'Come on Eileen' by Dexys Midnight Runners, and Gloria Gaynor's 'I Will Survive', among others. Maybe for Part 2?
I completely agree with Come On Eileen! Whenever my husband wants to watch me dance, he puts that one on. He knows there is no way I can NOT dance to it!!
When Michael voiced Leon Compowski on The Simpsons, the annoyance in his voice when he said that his Off the Wall album "only got one lousy Grammy nomination" was one of the funniest things I've ever heard...
That’d be me. “Dancing Queen,” “Mister Blue Sky,” and “Don’t Stop Me Now” are the only ones on this list that I like, but the rest are either awful or don’t resonate with me. Sometimes, the ones I listed as liked songs just don’t put a smile on my face.
My list: 20- Super bass by Nicki Minaj 19- Cheerleader by Omi 18- Shower by Becky G 17- In the middle by Zedd 16- Livin la vida loca by Ricky Martin 15- Levitating by Dua Lipa 14- Dancing queen by Abba 13- Good time by Owl City & Carly Rae Jepsen 12- California Gurls by Katy Perry 11- Whistle by Flo Rida 10- Living on the prayer by Madonna 9- Cheap Thrills by Sia 8- Lean on by Major Lazer 7- Nice for what by Drake 6- Don't stop me now by Queen 5- Shake it off by Taylor Swift 4- Waka waka by Shakira 3- Uptown Funk by Mark Ronson X Bruno Mars 2- Cant stop the feeling by Justin Timberlake 1- Happy by Pharell Williams
There's plenty of songs that put a smile on my face, but the song All Star from Smash Mouth makes me happy the most. It's got one of the greatest beats, and puts me in a really good mood.🌟😄😀😃🎶🎧
For me Penny Lane - The Beatles Our House - Madness Head over Heals - Tears for Fears Happy - Pherell Williams ( shudda won the Oscar but Disney bought it ) Dance hall Day's - Wang Chung Come on Eileen - Dexies Midnight Runners Let the sunshine in - The Partrige Family These songs always get my mood up
I dont think its a mistake that many of these songs are funk or funk inspired. It is so underrated as a happiness inducing genre. Listen to some funk while you work out, trust me.
This is definitely my favorite list that WatchMojo has ever posted. The entire video put me in such a great mood. I think that Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band should have gotten some consideration. That song ALWAYS puts me in a great mood.
The 80s song "Steppin' Out" by Joe Jackson has always brought a smile to my face, also Joe's ""(Somethin' Goin' On) "Round Here", too, because of great metaphorical lyrics.
Don’t worry be happy is my #1 , that song was there when I and my classmates flew from another country to worked in Medical center in south New Jersey . Away from our families and country for the first time . Then We have to pass the Board exam first try or we will be demoted . Stressing out as we work in our shifts. Don’t Worry Be Happy … definitely help us back then . But of course September and Celebration is my top 3 . I always was huge Queen fan since in my early teens but that song would be # …, can’t dance to that one 😝
My all time pick-me-up songs are "Coconut" by Harry Nilsson, "The candy man" by Sammy Davis, Jr., and "Sing a song" by Earth,Wind, and Fire as well as their version of "Got to get you into my life".

My favorite song that makes me happy is “what a wonderful world” by louis Armstrong

Walkin on Sunshine has always been my happy song. And, at 60, probably always will be. :)
Daydream Believer by the Monkees. Three minutes of pure joy.
"Can't Touch This"
MC Hammer
"Rock & Roll" by Zepplin, "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC, "Dance the Night Away" by Van Halen, and "Jackson" by Johnny Cash/June C. Cash are just the tip of my musical iceberg to make me smile.
Was just recently at Disney and Sweet Caroline came on the bus. Nearly everyone started singing along, not sure why it's not top 10.
I think, Steven, although I'm not medically qualified, it is physically impossible not to sing along to Sweet Caroline!!
Just sayin '
Kind regards from the UK
@@djpriddin6211 Unless you're a Yankees fan...or an Angels fan like me because the Sox are the enemy of the enemy for my team.
@@whenfatkillsfat803 Oops, sorry Alex, I was treading into very important matters, of which I wasn't aware!!
I can only apologise lol!!
Kindest regards from the UK
Not all well-known songs are happy. But that is more a case of transcendence not going far enough
Because that song absolutely positively sucks
Shakira & The Queen never fail to put a śmiałe on my face.
Sweet Caroline also makes me feel good.
Happy brings me back joyful memories as once I sang it with my class at a school show.
Irene Cara's 'Fame' does it for me... along with Bonnie Tyler's 'Holding Out for a Hero'
Five songs should have made the list
1. Beautiful Day U2
2. Lovely Day bill withers
3. Maniac Michael Sembello
4. Lean on Me Bill Withers
5. Rhythm of the Night Debarge
5 more honorable mentions should have been mentioned
1. Break My Stride. Matthew Wilder 😃- love this song for as long as I could remember!
2. Mr Wendel. Arrested Development
3.I can see Clearly Johnny Nash
4. Oooh Child -the five stairsteps
5. Good Time- Chic
Shut Up and Dance by Walk the Moon always lifts my mood!
Yeah
No Question : "Bad Case of Loving You" Robert Palmer; "Dancing with Myself" Billy Idol !!!!!
I can’t believe you forgot YMCA by the village people
ooooh yes !!!!!
I think Trump spoiled that song for everyone forever
@@zahirahza what did Trump do?
@@LAURA--- playing it at his rallies and ugly-dance to it
That's one of those songs that you just HAVE to dance/sing along with.
Michael Jackson always, ALWAYS gets me in the feels. Happy songs, sad songs, all RIGHT IN THE FEELS.
I feel the EXACT SAME WAY!!!! He may be gone physically, but he NEVER TRULY DIED!!!! He’s still with us, just not physically anymore. 😢❤MJ!!!!! His spirit will NEVER die!!!!!
He's sorely missed...
Flashdance(What a feeling)by Irene Cara makes me smile even if I'm only 19 years old.
Don't stop me now is my favourite
Song with the show must go on.
PS: if you couldn't tell queen is my favourite band ever. Rip Freddie Mercury.
And this is why I love the oldies...every song is a great song...
Waka Waka never fails me to make me smile. Such a great FIFA World Cup ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Shoulda been the overall soundtrack for the tournament
If you want to smile even more watch baby groot dancing to "I want you back",it's just the cutest thing ever!!
Just about every song from “Mary Poppins” makes me smile.
Yesssss!
No
I agree
Just a spoonful of sugar helps the medicine go down !
Yes this list is missing a few more gems
I completely agree with Come On Eileen! Whenever my husband wants to watch me dance, he puts that one on. He knows there is no way I can NOT dance to it!!
I'll add Everybody Wants to rule the World by Tears for Fears, and Don't You Forget about Me by Simple minds.

Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys 🎵🎶🎵 🥰 Definitely a favorite of mine 💝
When Michael voiced Leon Compowski on The Simpsons, the annoyance in his voice when he said that his Off the Wall album "only got one lousy Grammy nomination" was one of the funniest things I've ever heard...
Weird Al Yankovic never fails to put a smile on my face
Queen ‘Don’t Stop Me Now’
That song is the reason I’ve almost totalled my car about 20 times!!! You just wanna dance!!!
I love “here comes the sun”, which does make me happy most of the time but then other times makes me really sad for some reason and I don’t know why 🙈
Probably cause of it’s nostalgic sound
Me too.
If ABBA doesn't leave you feeling transcendent you're dead inside.
What’s abba
Yah, Dancing Queen should be higher on this list
RIP Me
ABBA is a gift from God.
And Sweden.
But mostly God!

There's plenty of songs that put a smile on my face, but the song All Star from Smash Mouth makes me happy the most. It's got one of the greatest beats, and puts me in a really good mood.🌟😄😀😃🎶🎧
Every time I hear that song Shrek always come to mind.
For me
Penny Lane - The Beatles
Our House - Madness
Head over Heals - Tears for Fears
Happy - Pherell Williams ( shudda won the Oscar but Disney bought it )
Dance hall Day's - Wang Chung
Come on Eileen - Dexies Midnight Runners
Let the sunshine in - The Partrige Family
These songs always get my mood up
I dont think its a mistake that many of these songs are funk or funk inspired. It is so underrated as a happiness inducing genre. Listen to some funk while you work out, trust me.
Definitely need a Part 2!! So many great, infectious, happy songs out there to choose from 🎉🎶🎶
« Don’t go breaking my heart » by Elton John always makes me smile personally
I know it doesn’t make radio air play, but the big band hit Sing, Sing, Sing will put ANYONE on their feet!!
You’re so right!
This is definitely my favorite list that WatchMojo has ever posted. The entire video put me in such a great mood. I think that Chicken Fried by Zac Brown Band should have gotten some consideration. That song ALWAYS puts me in a great mood.
Any song by The Beatles always makes me smile.
Maybe that song doesn't fit with the ones in this video, but I love 'Elton John - I'm Still Standing'! 😍
I have that playing in my head 24-7-365 days a year.
Philadelphia Freedom & Don't Go Breakin' My Heart
Oh yes!!! One of my faves!!!
Ventura Highway ….. the intro just gets me, makes me think of the beginning of summer.
i vote for " I say a little prayer" -my best friend's wedding's version
My absolute fave is "Happy" by Pharrel. Always lifts me up when I feel down..
I mostly love 'walking on sunshine'
So beautiful👍💓
The 80s song "Steppin' Out" by Joe Jackson has always brought a smile to my face, also Joe's ""(Somethin' Goin' On) "Round Here", too, because of great metaphorical lyrics.
Paul Simon's "You Can Call Me Al" and Michael Jackson's "Don't Stop 'Til You Get Enough" becoming two of my most favorite songs of all time.
I always was huge Queen fan since in my early teens but that song would be # …, can’t dance to that one 😝
honestly ‘Don’t worry be Happy’ makes me depressed now because of Robin Williams. I miss him a lot. I think we all do. :(
Not really.
So so happy Don't Stop me Now is at #1. I adore Queen and Freddie Mercury always.
Don't Stop Me Now is a great #1. All Queen songs can make someone happy.
Here Comes The Sun is one of my favorite songs from The Beatles
My question is why doesn't WatchMojo have Spotify playlists for these😭😂❤🥺
My all time pick-me-up songs are "Coconut" by Harry Nilsson, "The candy man" by Sammy Davis, Jr., and "Sing a song" by Earth,Wind, and Fire as well as their version of "Got to get you into my life".
Dancing queen was very special to me and my dad when I was a kid nostalgia hits so good
