Looks like it could be GT3RS fast. It costs as much so it better be. We have the upcoming GT2RS with GT3RS aero but at least 200hp more and a hybrid system, the new ZR1 which looks incredible, the new Lambo raplacing the huracan, etc... Great times. Well I think you meant track time wise so yes I would concur. However, this GTD will walk away from a GT3RS on long legged straits without much effort.

Give up with these last hurrah comments! People said the same 10 years ago now! We’ve never had as many high revving n/a engines coming out in hypercars as we have now! And never as many high revving forced induction engines. Why? Because they produce high power whilst weighing very little compared to a 500-1000 lb battery and motors.
I love it and we'll see what it does. I wish Ford would have utilized its Ecoboost technology on this project. They had twin turbos on a Cobra Jet just a couple years ago they know how to do this stuff.

why? it costs 4x as much and will still be slower in a drag race. The demon was build for drag racing and its cheap. it has a totally different purpose. So no reason to be jealous. If i buy a truck to transport materials, i wont be jealous because someone drives a cabrio sports car.
I hope it has adjustable suspension because it looks stiff as a board, Most future owners don't live near the track so daily drives will be extremely fun and uncomfortable
It has very sophisticated adjustable suspension but owners probably won't use it for grocery shopping. It's a dedicated track car, a GT3 race car for street use as is the Ford GT.
Even a GT3 RS is not Easy to beat on Nordschleife. Maybe some Seconds on a Full Lap becasue of less Power. Against a New GT2 RS..... Even the Old Version is a Alpha Car on this Track Never underestimate the Porsche factor ;)
They've been trying at the Ring for 2 months and still no official time announced to the press. often when brands have something to claim they quickly do a publicity stunt. I'm afraid that this lack of communication is due to a time unworthy of a car of this pedigree and this price, like above 7 minutes.
I checked up on what time of year the GT3 RS Recorded their 6:49 time. It was around the middle of October. I think it likely Porsche had been testing at the Nürburgring all summer that year. I would give Ford some slack.
@@RonnieLeeDuck manufacturers are entitled to time alone on the track, which is called 'Industry pool'. they cannot measure a time there or attempt a lap record. If they want to attempt a time trial, they must request in advance. Ford has almost used up its time credit in the Industry pool and has not yet asked for a lap time as far as I know. That’s what’s worrying.
@@mr_exia if they dont come up with a time in the next months, they couldnt beat the Gt3. Marketing would then just be better if they just dont run a time at all. They will then do videos of it beating the Gt3 in dragraces and stuff, as usual.
@@mr_exia I can't really argue that point. Except to say that I'm pretty sure Ford's purpose for being at the Nürburgring is not all about getting the sub 7 time. They want the GTD to be an enjoyable road car as well so they are going to want to use public time on the track as well.
GM itself claims the ZR1 rivals the Porsche GT2 RS. The GTD also rivals the GT2 RS. The problems arise with the reports coming in that Chevrolet appears to have tuned the steering for cruising down highways as opposed to track use. Drivers don't feel confident around corners with the ZR1, not like they do with the Z06. So we'll see I guess.
Damn, I really don't know 😶 First thought I would say turbo cause it uses extracted gases instead of the mechanical input of the crank to spin, so it will not "slow down" the crank's speed I'm not sure tho, and both seems to work pretty well I do think the turbo is more fuel efficient too

Those exhaust tips have to go they look like they were bought from Pep Boys. Car is absolutely awesome otherwise. Think the exhaust would look amazing through a cut hole in front of the rear tires with a square or round carbon fiber plate. Would have more of a race car look.
