ive been catching up on old marvel this past year, and its kinda crazy how little was spoiled beforehand (especially x-men stuff). like i took a break around early 90s xmen and i did not know wolverine would be death lol.
at least thats how a lot of stuff is woth comics amd doesnt take away that much. like a lot of it is just me seeing how the stuff i knew happened actually played out

That fight between Sabertooth and Wolverine, with Sabertooth having the adamantium, is one of my favorite fights between them.
Wolverine's fighting style having changed since losing his durability without the adamantium, combined with his knowledge about having the metal in you, and Sabertooth blowing that advantage for himself were very satisfying to me. Granted, I read it many years after the issue came out.
Having Wolverine back in the brown and gold suit was a cherry on top.
Does that make three X-Men who've been horsemen for Apocalypse? Archangel, Wolverine and Gambit?

Those three were Death Specifically if I recall.
When he had Gambit he also had Polaris and Sunfire as Horsemen ...... though I don't consider Sunfire as having ever been an X-man by that point

I started collecting in 99, thanks to the animated series. Picked up one Spawn issue and nothing hooked me, it was all style. Paled in comparison to Claremont, Davis, and co. on The Twelve - not that I knew who they were at the time! Far from the creatives' or titles' best examples, but an order of magnitude better than the rest.
Chaotic as it was, it felt totally accessible for a 12 year old newbie.

AFAIK The Twelve was long seeded, had a lot of false starts, and dead ends. Might be fun to look into, if you want a video idea

Legion Quest. I don't think I got them all. I had a bunch of stuff Stolen a few years back and I lost most of them. I think Legion Quest and Gambit and xternals are all I have left....I should start hunting those down again.....though I did buy the three big collections

But seriously -- The writing in Spawn was never good, and probably sold (and sells) to collectors for whom story isn't the first priority.

I kept reading Spawn a long time, as i rarely dropped stuff, but i finally did around 150, maybe. It was not good overall, unless Spawn's grandmother was in the story, her 2 issues were good
